I'm so excited! Today is the first day I've put my jeans on since my surgery a week and a half ago and they were much looser! I could pull them away almost 2 inches from my belly and they used to be skin tight and cut into me! I'm so exicted!!! I can't believe I'm comfy in my jeans! Also, I put on a ring I haven't wore in a while and it was loose on my hand! I can't believe 26.5 pounds would make that much of a difference!!! Especially since I'm not even two weeks out from surgery! Has anyone else had any NSVs yet?!

How do you know you're full
sixbuttons replied to NewNana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have absolutely no idea how to tell when I'm full either. I have no appetite. I can only tell when I drink that something is my stomach because my stomach will gurgle. I've been eating soup but I've been using these tiny little bowls and eating just what's in the bowl. I can get about 3 1/2 meals out of a can of soup. I have no idea if I'm doing it right or wrong. I don't get uncomfortable or throw up after though. Here is a pic of the bowl and spoon I use. I bought three for a dollar at the Dollar General store. They were little ice cream bowls. -
No, part of that is post op diet weight too. I lost 15 pounds my first week after surgery!

Thank you for that laura-ven. I only got the idea from grandpa (who is super health conscious) because he always chews mini candy bars and spits them out so he can have a taste of chocolate without all the fat and calories. I might have mentioned after I spit out the chip, I had a few ounces of creamed soup. I had a taste of the chip and then ate the soup and was full - I guess. I can't tell if I'm full or not really because I have no appetite. I wasn't trying to encourage anyone to do that either btw, I was just commenting that's what I've done - once. I should also mention the chips didn't taste exactly the way they used to, but it made me feel better just the same. Thanks for the info though.

I was on my period when I had my surgery and it stopped my second night in the hospital. I haven't started back yet, but I feel really bloated. I also have PCOS so I expect I will be really out of whack for a while.

This might be just as bad as actually eating something I shouldn't, but I love me some tater chips! Chips have been my struggle since my sleeve and I'm only a week and a half out. So, I got a bag of baked chips, took ONE out chewed it and spit it out. I made sure to spit out every little piece, but it did make me feel better.

I have a hard time drinking plain water. I user to love water and drink it constantly, but now I have to mix a SF flavor pack to get it down. -
September Sleevers...! Come on in and chat!

Hey guys, just a piece of advice: I don't know how it's been for everyone else, but I wish I had NOT stocked up on some things. I bought a TON of Jell-O and can't eat any of it now. Also, I bought lots of protein and 4 days after surgery it didn't like being in my stomach anymore so I had to switch. I wish I'd just gotten a little bit or samples. Things taste different, go down different, and settle in your belly different after surgery. -
Did your tastes change after surgery?
sixbuttons replied to tigermom12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not too far out, but the only difference I've noticed is sweet things taste MUCH sweeter than they used to. I think they gave me regular Jell-O at the hospital and I could NOT choke it down. It just tasted way too sweet. -

sixbuttons replied to lawree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get exhausted over nothing. If I take a shower, I have to sit down and rest. I don't know about you guys, but protein is my lifesaver! Once I get some protein in me I have more energy. The loose poo is no fun tho. -
Bowel movement after surgery........how long?
sixbuttons replied to toco's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had a BM everyday since the day after I got home. Sometimes more than once. I have no idea if that's normal or not, but that's what's happening for me. Nothing solid though so that's disgusting. -
Food Funerals?
sixbuttons replied to Disabledaccount's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance required a six month supervised diet as well. My doc only required a 2 week pre-op diet and a 2 day liquid diet. I can't imagine doing a two week liquid diet. It was hard doing 2 days. -

This is a lot like the diet my doctor gave me, although it does progress slightly faster on a couple of things. -

I get the bubbles when I drink too. Sometimes pain across my chest. If I burp it feels better. -

I ain't gonna lie. I wanted a Baconator so bad, but I didn't give in. I wish I had. I know that sounds terrinle, but after more tham a week with no real food, the memory of that Baconator would be awesome lol. -

I'm not allowed soup until next week. I can't wait for tomato soup! I wonder if Swanson chicken broth is okay? The broth goes down better than anything else for me. The hospital had awesome broth. I always loved soups/chili so I guess that part of me is still the same. -
Five Days Post Op
sixbuttons replied to youthguy80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on day 4 but I'm with you. Protein is killing me. I was okay with it at first, but for some reason today I just can't choke it down. Im not hungry at all and I'm getting frustrated because I can't seem to reach 64oz. -

Does anyone have any broth suggestions? Bouillon sucked. I need something other than water.
