i did not fast for my pre surgical testing. I was allowed my pre op diet the day before the surgery but i was so nervous that all i had was tea and broth all that day. At my pre surgical testing i was given 2 pepcid pills and instructed to take one the night before the surgery with Water and i was to take one the morning of the surgery with one sip of water so there would not be any acid in my stomach. i brushed teeth as usual.

Hello friends! Today is my first day back to work and my first POST op post! Tomorrow i am 3 weeks out. My surgery went very well, my surgeon said that my liver had shrunk down nicely The walked me into the OR and when i got on the table i suddenly began to cry out of fear. The next thing i remember is waking up in recovery. all in all i would say my recovery is going really well. I had horrible, terrible despicable gas pains for the first 2 weeks, the pains went all the way up to my shoulder and walking and gas x did not help not one bit. other than that i was only in the hospital overnight. I didnt have too much other pain, just more like discomfort and soreness. as of today i am down 28lbs so i am 229 now. I lost 15 on the preop and 13 since the surgery. i was a little disappointed with that, but i also did just get a visit from aunt flo yesterday (TMI) so im hoping thats the issue and that i havent stalled already.

i absolutley went through this and im sure most if not all of us do. It is a major permanent life change. its totally normal so hang in there! i also began to cry when i got up on the operating table.... good luck to you!

the market pantry brand at target can be bought with the EBT card as well. the chocolate is pretty good, i didnt care for the vanilla.

every place is different but i had my surgery 11-12-13 and i did the pre surgical testing on 11-4-13. i think they called me like maybe 5 days before the testing was scheduled, so hopefully theyll be calling any day now. i know its frustrating believe me i was just posting something like this a few weeks ago! good luck to you

it feels ok. i sit mostly at work (I'm a book keeper) but i do have to lift heavy boxes of coin. Actually im feeling really tired. especially today as i get back into my regular routine. i feel like i could fall asleep typing this. lol

i know how you feel i am 3 weeks out tomorrow. Just finished my first day back at work right now and im totally beat...i could use a nap when i get home but that wont be happening with my 2 kids ( 3 if you count my boyfriend) When is the energy supposed to kick in?

oh...my...god.. pardon my whining. I am a big ball of emotion today. I am on pure liquids now with 6 days until surgery and i feel like quitting so bad, (im not gonna quit but i sure feel like it)..My stomach is making horrible noises...i feel like its screaming "feed me seymour!" my last day of work is this friday. Im really gonna have to dig deep to get through the weekend without screwing up. I feel like the protein shakes arent filling me up anymore. The only thing that is keeping me going is that i can already see my clothes are getting looser. My coordinator is going to weigh me friday and she said she has a post op gift for me. i wonder what it is.

Well surgery is this upcoming tuesday nov12th. Today is my last day of work thank god. I wont be able to post until i get back to work on dec 2 as i do not have a home computer or a phone with internet access. So i am all set with everything. Ive lost 15lbs so far on the pre op. Hoping i have no issues with the surgery. Good luck to everyone having surgery today and my 11-12-13 buddies! Im scared nervous and excited all at once. yeah im totally not loving this site today at all. Things are weird on it and i feel like i cant find anyone. It wont let me select my surgeon and it has my state wrong and somehow i went from having 202 posts to like over 500.

i wish that were the case Bob but my kids are 2 and 5 and my bf wouldnt know whether to scratch his watch or wind his a$$ if i wasnt there. lol.. my biggest supporter and one of my only supporters is...well..me.. and all the wonderful people on here. I even banned my bf from coming to the hospital with me b/c he will stress me too much so my sister will be taking me.

i was thinking of posting this too. i thought maybe something was wrong with my computer since it said theyll be back 10/29. I love looking at the pictures. it gives me something to look forward to.

i dont have much advice as i am still pre op but if you are looking to try some different foods, try getting some recipes from theworldaccordingtoeggface.com. i know she has some great recipes. I have heard that her ricotta bake is awesome and i cant wait to try it once i get to the soft phase! good luck

Im supposed to be drinking 6 protein shakes yesterday i drank 4 so maybe an extra 2 will help. So far i find the hardest part is when i am cooking dinner for my family. Im so used to "taste testing" Last count was 9lbs down. i know ive lost more though. ill wait until i get weighed by the coordinator though, my scale is retarded and will give me 5 diff readings. i got all my important papers in order already so ill prob just spend the weekend cleaning the house and tackling the mess that is my closet.

You lucky duck.... i was allowed to have veggies last week in addition to my Protein Shakes, which wasnt too bad b/c i would just eat a can of spinach or green Beans and feel good. But from yesterday until surgery its pure liquids for me. Good luck to you, itll be here before you know it

Well completed all pre surgical testing yesterday. now for my last 2 appts thursday i need to get the surgical clearance from pcp and friday i go see my coordinator for my handbook and what not. I cant believe im just 7 days away. Friday is my last day of work. I have moments of freaking out and then i have moments when i feel completely calm which is wierd. good luck to everyone being sleeved today!

I have my pre admission testing today and im just wondering what tests will i have to do? 8 days til surgery!

I am still pre op (8 days til surgery) but heres my confessions On saturday i cheated on my liquid diet, i ate 6 tacos for dinner and had soda.. wait it gets better.... My bf and i each ate half of a mrs smiths apple pie with vanilla ice cream ( my fav thanksgiving treat). I think my nerves and cravings just got the best of me I confess that i am back on track finally and m hoping i didnt do too much damage... no more cheating i swear i confess that i look the other way or pretend to look at ny phone to avoid having to speak to people at work. I fear they are "looking at me" and thinking yuck look at what a fatty she is I confess that i check this site so many times when i am supposed to be working i confess that even though i am in a relationship for 5 years i wouldnt mind some attention from the opposite sex.
