hopeliveshere replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i got comments on my face right away at work b/c i am still wearing the same baggy clothes but on myself i always lose weight first on my sides. im not sure if the bodyshape type has anything to do with it. -

congrats on your weight loss. where in brooklyn are you from? i am in queens but on the border of brooklyn. -
omg i watched the replay of this last night too and i was floored. i kept thinking how could she even fit that much in her stomach after the surgery. she was eating from a few different plates. and how the hell could she not get up and walk. i was terrified to NOT walk after my surgery for fear of the blood clots. so sad for the little boy....i felt like this gave me motivation to keep going wtih my weight loss plan though...i have to control what goes in my mouth as hard as it is sometimes.i still hold the power.

2 weeks here as well. i asked my dr about it at my 1 week checkup and he said it was fine as long as i was comfortable with it. -
What's the worst thing you've done?
hopeliveshere replied to EarthyGoalie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I dont have one story either b/c gorging myself on food was an everyday thing pretty much. everday id leave for work and stop of to get breakfast usually at dd or mcds and id get one of those bakery sandwiches hash browns and a large latte or from mcds itd be 4 hashbrowns and 2 sausage biscuits. As soon as id be almost done at work i would think where i could sneak to eat for lunch. if it was: Subway- id dog down a foot long sandwich wendys- spicy chicken sandwich with large fries an order of nuggets, 2 bacon cheeseburgers and lf frosty taco bell- one of those border bowls 2 tacos and a burrito or 8-10 tacos pizza- 2 to 3 slices or a chicken roll and slice then id go home and start cooking dinner and eat that and then snack later on. thinkng about this now makes me feel sick to my banana sized stomach. even though its only a little over two months out i really dont miss the food, i dont miss that feeling that i have to unbutton my pants cus i cant breathe. -

How long was your stay in the hospital?
hopeliveshere replied to TTC2U's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was there one night only. the dr said i could stay another day if i wanted. i actually did want to, but there was no one available to pick me up the next day. i hope you have someone who will help at home. my bf's mother stayed with me for a week to help with my 2 children (ages 2 and 5) -

2 months out and I still can't seem to eat slowly enough
hopeliveshere replied to Bronco0605's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My boyfriend pretty much inhaled 2 servings of food and his dessert plate last night all while i was on my 1 and only mini plate! i used to enjoy eating with my family but ive taken to most nights serving them first and then having my plate. i also find it uncomfortable to eat when there is alot of noise around me. i understand wanting to keep up. its not easy but hang in there! -
OK....how did you know.....
hopeliveshere replied to michelle68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took 2 bites of a spinach salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. then i felt a burning sensation in my chest immediatley. needless to say it came right back up. that was a horrible experience....yuck...i wonder if ill ever be able to have anything like that again or if im permanently done with it.... im afraid to try again -
2 months out and I still can't seem to eat slowly enough
hopeliveshere replied to Bronco0605's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same issue. Do you set a timer for yourself? I use the timer on my microwave. sometimes i find myself nearly done with still 10 mins left on the timer. Lately i have been making sure i put down my fork between bites and if i feel like im eating too quickly ill just get up and walk away from the plate for a few mins... -

hopeliveshere posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost 2 months out. I havent lost or had any thining hair as of yet, but for the past 2 days when i've been putting my makeup on (while using the eyelash curler) its clipping my lashes down to half their size, they seem very brittle. Anyone experience this or what can i do to stop it? -

Can anyone recommend an accurate scale?
hopeliveshere posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 2 scales, a taylor digital and a classic dial scale. Both of them drive me absolutely bonkers. i cannot get a consistent reading on them no matter what i do. I could step on my digital in the morning and then step on it 3 more times and each time ill get a different reading. Both of these scales are also off by 3-5 lbs compared to my drs office. I dont have my next checkup until 1/23 and i really have no idea how much i weigh. so can anyone recommend one that is accurate but under 100 bucks maybe?
