58 lbs is wonderful congrats to you! i too have an obesession with the scale. i know i should only weigh in the morning, but i have a habit on getting on it everytime i go to the bathroom. i must weigh myself at least 5-6 times a day. i just cant help it.

Im still sitting here waiting for the coordinator to call and tell me if i am approved by the insurance. It seems like its taking forever and lately it seems as though that everyone is getting approved within like a day or 2. I know i was told within two weeks i should know but it im afraid the longer it takes,the less chance i have that they are going to approve it.

i am sure many of us feel the same way. some days i wonder if i am crazy wanting to do this and if i really need to. which is followed seconds later by a voice that says YES I DO. i cant keep taking diet pills and trying one crazy thing after the other. I lose very minimal weigh on traditional diets and once im off gain it back like its yesterday. I agree with another poster, dont have the surgery unless you are 100% sure. For me, after countless efforts i am ready.

The coordinator said that she would call but i havent heard from her since last friday. If i dont hear anything by tomorrow or monday i am going to call her again.. i dont understand what the heck the hold up could be with a piece of paper esp since my insurance only serves the ny and nj areas so its not like it would be coming from far away.

My boyfriend is the same way. always makes comments that im gonna leave once i look good. I say oh so i dont look good now lol. Seriously i try to explain to him though that i am still going to be the same person just healthier and more confident. But he knows that i dont want him coming to the hospital with me. all he does is stress me out and bust my balls, id rather be alone.

very exciting! i am in the opposite boat, i have no clothes at all in my closet. And im not even kidding when i say this but i own: 1 pair of jeans 2 pairs of sweatpants 3 tshirts 2 "good shirts" (that i would wear outside, a green flannel and one dubbed "old purple" by my bf) 1 pair of work pants 2 workshirts how pathetic is that?

i called the insurance company directly, but i still havent received the letter yet which is why i have no surgery date yet. i have been on the preop diet since sept 30th and am still waiting for the letter, im getting tired of these darn shakes.

the chocolate protein powder from target is pretty good. the brand is market pantry. The vanilla tastes like crap though.

My insurance required that i attend 2 support groups. they were good and the people were very nice. I will probably go once in a while, as i am not much of a public speaker. I find this site to be my "support group"

arrgh. lol (im sure you're going to get alot of that). That stinks. how long before its cured?

i got the approval from the insurance company themselves but they were supposed to send an approval letter to me and the coordinator and as of today they still havent. So the surgery is approved and i have no date yet. So its been about 3 weeks ive been waiting already.

i feel your pain, i called my insurance company on oct 4th to check the status and they told me i was approved however myself or my coordinator have not yet received whatever approval letter we are supposed to receive. I still dont have an official date and have been on the pre-op diet since sept 30.

Are you allowed to have a tomato? Im allowed certain things on my pre op so i have a tomato with a little salt and pepper. Ive been on the pre-op diet since sept 30th. so that makes me 12 days in

and here i am when i started this post thinking this was my secret snack! my boyfriend makes fun of me at times b/c he can smell it on me when i come home from work ( i usually indulge on my way home from work on the bus) i didnt know there was so many fans of jerky!

Thank you lipstick lady, your story was very inspiring to me. when i read it, it was almost like you were describing my body frame so now i feel i really have all this to look forward to. I too am 5'3 started at 253 lbs my pants also are a very snug 20 (sometimes i can even take a size 22) and ive got the 42DDD going in the ehh top area lol. and i also have two children and i an hourglass shaped. thank you for sharing

I am from NY and i also had to do the 6 month requirement. I was up and down during it but at the end of it i was still up like 3 lbs from where i had originally started. I have done just about every fad diet and taken every diet pill you could think of. I had a little success back in 2009 with the alli pill. i lost about 40lbs but it came back over a period of 6 months. The first half of the 6 months went really slow for me but then at the end i actually had trouble squeezing in all my appts. Now i am just waiting for the official date. Yes this site is great. I never feel asahmed to ask anything b/c i know someone will have experienced the same thing. And trust me there isnt much thats TMI around here. Keep me posted on your journey!

wow i cant believe i actually lost 7lbs on this pre op diet so far. I think i finally hit my stride with this. yesterday i had a nice treat that was allowed on my list. a nice juicy tomato with some pepper. I ate it like an apple LOL. Even though i am only 7lbs down i am starting to feel different already. That bloaty feeling is gone from my stomach and i can actually feel some loss around my waist ( i always lose weigh there first) this is the most weight i have lost in five years. Just felt like bragging for a sec! its been a while since i saw the number on the scale below 255. I am 248 as of today!
