    Starving at 6 days out....

Also, if I put a lot of ice in my water it seems to taste better AND go down easier. For some reason it seems like I can take larger drinks, almost gulps without problems when its super cold. Could be just me though. Everyone is different, you're gonna hear that a lot!!! Good luck!

    Alcohol

I had a few beers and a couple glasses of wine on saturday (day 26). I know I am a bad boy, but the carbonation doesnt affect me unless I drink it fast. I had a half of a beer at a pub before a soccer match, a guinness at the soccer match, then a beer and a half again at the pub after the match. That night I went to a festival at Seattle Center and I had two glasses of wine while I was there. Never really got drunk. Had a nice lil buzz to take the edge off. No stomach issues and no hangover the next day. I also periodically drank water throughout the day.

Try taking an antacid. I forgot to take mine one morning and felt hungry all day.

    JUNE 2013 Sleevers?

Sleeved 6/25 and down 33. I did not do a pre-op weight loss. I eat an egg (soft boiled or scrambled) for Breakfast. Cottage cheese, tomato Soup or yogurt for lunch. For dinner it all depends on where I am at with my requirements, 6-800cals, 60-80g portein, 20-30g carbs. I start solids on wednesday (two days from now) and I am excited! I am not really sick of the foods I'm eating, but I'm craving Thai food and fish tacos ;-] I am going to have both on Wednesday and probably eat it for the next couple days!
  5. I was sleeved on a tuesday and home friday morning. I could have driven that afternoon if I wanted. I drove Saturday to my mom's for a family lunch. Your seatbelt doesn't even touch your incisions (or atleast not mine). I did stay in the house a lot the few weeks following because it was difficult to socialize with my friends when I couldn't eat or drink. I'm 29 and live downtown Seattle, so you can imagine my social life evolves around happy hours, restaurants and sports bars! Ive been out a few times lately (even had a few drinks, despite not being 30 days post op :-0 )

    Alcohol

My Doctor says no sooner than 30 days. I am 19 days and 30 cant come soon enough! I had a sip of my friend's beer last night just to see if it gave me the burps, hiccups etc. nothing happened. So we went to a movie and I ordered an icee, not knowing the damn thing was carbonated. I figured "screw it" and got about half down with a few rumbles in my tummy, but nothing to write home about!

    Liquid phase diarrhea...

I don't know what I did, but I am back to no bowel movements at all. At least not for two days. I started full liquids yesterday and thought I would actually go more. Yesterday I had two puddings and a protein shake w/milk. Its not much, but I don't feel hungry, so I'm not gonna push it. As long as I meet my 80g protein requirements, I'm happy.
  8. I am six days post op, didn't have a bowel movement until yesterday and since it's been TOTALLY liquid. Nothing solid about it. Anyone else have this problem. I am thinking it's the 80-100g of Protein and nothing else. I am drinking Isopure to get my Proteins and it has zero carbs or sugar. Anyone else have a similar experience?

    Liquid phase diarrhea...

Doc says immodium is okay. I took one this morning and again this afternoon. No joy! Can somebody get me some "cling peaches!!!" Lol!

    Liquid phase diarrhea...

I was about to crush up some immodium. I asked the Doc in an email. Waiting to hear back from him. Thanks everyone for your responses.

Less than a week post op, how are you doing?

I just took a couple good size drinks, borderline gulps and no issues. A cpl gas bubbles came up, but that's about it.
  13. I feel pretty good pain-wise. Sitting up I'm still a bit sore, but it's getting better by the hour. Sometimes I feel like I am hungry, but a sip of water or isopure makes that go away. I can take normal size sips of water, which surprises me as I am only 5 days post op. If I drink too much (about 3 normal sips) I get some air bubbles, then about 20 seconds later I'm good to take another sip. Is that weird?
  14. SOOOOOO COOOOOOOL! I am ecstatic for you! You look great and I bet you feel amazing! I am five days post op and I hope I do half as good as you!!!

I can't wait for cream soups!

Less than a week post op, how are you doing?

What did he say? My doc and nurses were always telling me to drink more and more! They told me that like 10 times a day. At that point I was still a bit skiddish to put anything in my body besides pain meds ;-]

    Garlic

I was watching a Mariner's game and the color commentators were talking about how they love going to Safeco Field for the garlic fries. I'm not even a week post op and I felt a moment of weakness. Nothing sounds good to me, it all smells wonderful, but I dont think I could physically go through with it.

Which PPI and What Dose do you take?

Sweet Shelly! I'm sure we will be riding together from the Airport to the hospital! See you then!

    Just received my surgery date

Awesome! I will see you there! I get sleeved by the good Dr. Aceves on the 25th! Glad you're feeling better about it. I'm still a bit anxious...
  20. I'm going to Dr. Aceves in less than a week ($8750). I've not heard a single negative thing about him, his team, or the hospital. I heard about him through a co-worker, but have read only positive things about him on here!

Which PPI and What Dose do you take?

Hi Rebecca! I'm going down to get sleeved by Dr. Aceves on Monday! Do you have any tips/words of wisdom for me? Did you have any pain?
  22. So I'm getting pretty nervous... Two things that are weighing heavy on my mind are loose skin and alcohol. I love having a good scotch or glass of wine. I don't drink everyday, so that's not a problem. It I hope I can still drink in moderation! Obviously I won't be crushing 12-18. Were while trolling for salmon all day, lol. Has anybody had their loose skin removed? How much does that cost?
  23. I've heard a little bit about people not being able to eat certain things that they used to. Either they get stuck, no longer taste good, or causes too much gas/reflux/discomfort. I am getting sleeved on 6/25 and I'm starting to get a bit nervous. Obviously I'm willing to make some sacrifices, but I am curious to hear what you guys have to say on the matter. If I can no longer eat McDonalds, Jack in the Box, BK, etc... that would be just fine with me!!!

What can't you eat, that you used to be able to.

THANK YOU ALL for your responses. I feel really good about this now. I especially liked BunnyK's bit about watching the scale drop and that giving her motivation! I think that is going to be huge for me. Also not being able to drink. That's my biggest downfall, the late night after bars drive-thru. Not to mention destroying a McDonalds menu when hung over. Sometimes I would wake up (still drunk) at 6am just to go to McD's for two egg mcmuffins, two sausage biscuits, two burritos, and 4 hash with milk if I didn't ha e any at home. Again, thanks you guys!
