i have been overweight all my life. I have tried everything to lose the weight even though in many cases i have been sucessfull, i gain it all back and more. My doctor refer me to a wonderful team of Bariatic Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Kini explain the process. According to my insurance guidelines, I need 6 months of weight loss medical supervision, 1 nutricionist visit, psychiatric evaluation, endoscopy test, Sleep Apnea test, blood work for deficiencies and a lung function test. I started in March and only pending my lung function test that is scheduled for April 15, 2013. After I have everything, They call me in an submit to my insurance for approval and a tentative date for surgery will be given to me. I have mix emotions right now !!! many times, I even cry of excitment and pray everyday for this to journey to become a reality. the nutricionist gave me a handfull of great information and samples on chewable vitamins and a booklet where to order, she also encourage me to look into over the counter stuff that are very good as well. Currently, I weight 260 pounds and BMI of 41, she advised me not to gain weight and provided me with a protein diet but have to keep my BMI in 35, to continuebto qualify thru insurance. Hello, am so happy for you !! tons of luck and please keep in touch. I dont have a date yet, I get my six moth package on 5/20 and my endoscopy on 5/13. After that they need to submit to my insurance.... i quess my date will be early June God first. Sent from my iPad using VST
