Okay, so I received some things from my surgeon today. One of them was an order form for Vemma liquid vitamins. They are about $75 for a one month supply. That seems kinda high to me. What do I need to be taking and how much should I expect to pay? (My surgery is June 5)

Wow you guys, I am so impressed at how upbeat you all are! I am feeling like such a Debbie Downer today. I am on day 5 of my pre-op and I am MISERABLE today. Yesterday was tough, but today is the worst that it has been for me. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm struggling to get my protein in. I purchased a million different kinds of protein powder for shakes, but I can't seem to get past the texture. This is not a new problem for me, as I have always had strange food texture issues. I am going to the store to purchase some pre-mixed shakes, even if I have to buy slim fast, so that I can pump some protein in. I am hoping that this will get easier. I am super jealous of all of you who are allowed to eat during your pre-op. I have been trying to rationalize all day why 4 oz of turkey would hurt me.... sigh. I will get through this. I have no other option! Surgery is June 5 and trust me...it can NOT come soon enough. Okay...rant over.

Okay...I start my two week pre-op diet tomorrow. I can have three protein shakes and supplement that with clear and full liquids. I need some ideas so I don't lose my mind over the next two weeks! Anyone have any great ideas to manage the liquid diet??? Thx!

So, I posted this in the June 2013 Thread, and then realized that those guys haven't been through this either...duh. I am looking at having a VSG on June 3 (hopefully). I super excited and have read a lot and watched so many video blogs that I can't begin to count. Many of them talk about how difficult it is to get your water/protein in for weeks after surgery. June is baseball season around here (and it is HOT) and I have an avid baseball player who will be in a tournament the weekend of June 22nd. How in the world do I prevent dehydration if I can't drink water/Gatorade like usual? I'm an avid baseball mom! I don't mind missing a practice, but I don't want to miss his games!! (On the flip side, I also don't want to end up in the hospital with dehydration...). Thoughts?

So here is my question...and go easy on me, I'm new. . I am planning a June 3 VSG surgery. My 10 year old plays baseball and has a tournament the weekend of June 22 (ish). It is, historically, REALLY HOT during that time. If getting your fluids down at the rate the doctor wants you to is a real problem (as I have read multiple accounts and seen many vlogs indicating), how do I protect myself from dehydration? I don't mind missing practice, but I don't miss my guy's games! Thoughts?

Hi Ladies!! (And gents). I am new here and am just trying to find my way around. I am planning on a June VSG surgery. I am excited and scared and overwhelmed all at the same time! I am hoping to be scheduled on June 3, but will have to wait for full approval before they can schedule anything. I am excited that we can all support each other along the way!!
