The gas was bad for a couple of days after surgery due to all the air they pump in you to expand your belly, the pain for me anyway, was only bad for a few days. I haven't taken pain meds since last week. But I think you may need to research another doctor! I was in the hospital for 4 days, I have 5 incisions, it was done laparoscopically, actually robotically. My personal opinion, and that of my doc as well apparently, is a 3-4 day hospital stay. I could barely walk for a few days. I am still very slow on my feet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

All things considered, it went very well. The surgery lasted approximately 3 to 4 hours, and I was in the hospital for four days. On the upside, I have lost 15 pounds in a week! The downside is no energy, and dealing with occasional nausea I'm glad I chose it though. I would do it again! I'm having food issues (like I hate anything puréed!!) and I can't wait till next week for soft foods! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm afraid because I have so much more to lose.... I still have another 150 or so to go. My highest weight was 470 and I'm down to 360 now. I'm afraid of not going anywhere with it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When I have the DS done in a month and a half, I am REALLY afraid of not losing because I had the sleeve prior to this surgery and I won't be getting a sleeve revision. Am I really going to lose weight? Is getting just the DS worth it? The doctors say I will, but I would like to hear it from some veterans of this 2 part procedure who actually had 2 different parts! Thanks in advance... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks for the reply!! I am excited too. During one of my preops yesterday I had to drink contrast and it has constipated me so bad I feel awful! They wanted to see my sleeve and apparently I have a hiatal hernia. But the surgery I am soooo looking forward to. I heard someone say their weight loss was slow and I was hoping mine isn't Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hello everyone! I am a VSG to DS revision and I'm so e cited that I have my surgery date! How has everyone else's weight loss been after this decision? Just looking for advice on how things went as far as weight loss- Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks for all the responses..... Sounds like I am just about where you guys are at about 800- 900 calories a day. My doc says the most important thing at this point is that if I am not hungry, don't eat!! Example, just because its dinner time, you don't have to eat then. Sent from my iPhone using VST
