I had 5 incisions also but no very little pain. In the hospital I was on iv pain meds. At home, they prescribed liquid pain med. Be careful with that stuff, it can cause SEVERE constipation. Just remember, "this too shall pass." Good luck to you.

Can a relationship really work out if....
glostaff replied to soonerorlater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had WLS on March 27, 2013. My husband, while he did support my decision, he did not make any changes to his eating habits. We have 13 (almost 14) year old twin boys. It is very hard to make them eat all healthy foods, so when we have pizza, I eat the toppings only. When we have spaghetti, I eat the meat sauce and cheese, ect. My husband does need to lose weight, but I know from experience that you have to do it when you are ready, no one can make you. So to answer your question, yes, I believe a relationship can make it if you partner is not willing to make changes with you. You are the one doing WLS, you make the changes you need and let him do what he needs. It's only food! right? good luck! -

pharmacist recommended 10,000 mcg per day. Seems to have helped. My hair loss is just about back to normal. -

congrats! I am 6 months outs and getting very frustrated. I have lost 63 pounds, but in the last several weeks, nothing! Don't think I will ever reach my goal.
-
As soon as I was able to eat solid foods (3 weeks out) I was allowed to start taking my Advil for headaches.

6 months and only 40 lbsdown
glostaff replied to brenda ziranda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
weight loss varies greatly. I am 6 months out and have lost 63 pounds. I get frustrated when I see that someone has lost 100 pounds by their 6 month date. Sorry I don't have any advice for you. We just have to keep on keeping on and we will get there! good luck to you!! -

Does anything know about death in Mexico.
glostaff replied to tampa's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
It's horrible when anyone dies from any kind of surgery. I wonder if maybe the original poster was concerned because that is where she is having her surgery done and she just wanted to find out if this doctor has an usually high rate of complications/deaths? I would certainly have checked my doctor out more if I heard that someone had died from the same surgery I was getting at his hands. Of course, most are out of the doctors control and not their fault at all, but there are still some doctors who may not be a qualified as others. -
I would suggest you wait to purge your closet. I was still able to wear the same old clothes for about 2 or 3 months, even though I was losing weight. I am now at almost 6 months and I still haven't bought anything new, because I am only about 1/2 way to my goal. I did keep boxes of smaller sizes that I wore during my various diets so I do have clothes to wear. I felt like I was going to jinx my weight loss if I purged my closest too soon! Good luck to you!

Don't know what it is, but I had the same thing happen to me. It eventually went away.

I had this feeling for a while after surgery. Never could get an explanation from Doctor. Just kind of brushed it off. So I figured it was normal. It went away after a while.

My husband is killing me!
glostaff replied to GBFree82's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Bacon cooking knowing I couldn't eat it would kill me! My husband tried to be helpful to me by cooking things that he knew I didn't like. Stuff like Salmon patties and fried Spam. Normally, Yuck!, I would leave the house. But not after my surgery. Sitting in the living room drinking my shake, that salmon and later that fried spam smelled so good! I would have given almost anything to eat some!
