    Hair :(

If I had read some of these posts before being sleeved, I doubt I would have gone through with it! It all sounds so scary! But I am glad I did the sleeve! I would go through it all again if necessary because I can see the results! I have had lots of compliments on my weight loss but not a single comment about my hair loss. Hang in there and follow your dreams! Anything worth having is worth having to fight for!

    Hair :(

I guess these posts don't help with the hair loss, but they do make me feel better that I am not alone in this! I was thinking, "OK, what am I doing wrong?" But I can see that I'm not! It's just a normal side effect. Thanks for the input ladies!!

    Post-op vitamins

Try Bariatric Advantage. They have a website. I take the multi vitamin and the calcium chews. They are pretty good.
  4. I did not feel that way, the pre-op diet was hard for me. And, of course, like any diet, it wouldn't last for me. I knew WLS was the only way to help me control my food portions. I don't regret my decision at all.

    asking a crazy?

I suffered from severe constipation after my surgery. It was so bad I was taking exlax and other meds every 2 hours! I finally got some suppositories and used two. When I was finally able to have a BM it hurt more than giving birth did! Since that time I have not be so bad. Good luck to you!

boobs are getting smaller already :-(

That is the one area where I have not lost! And I want to!!!!! Can't wait to lose some!
  7. I'm curious as to how many follow up doctors appointments most sleevers went to. I am coming up on my two month visit. I was not impressed by the first visit. I did not see the doctor but a P.A. I was weighed then for the next hour, she talked about her children and what I had in store raising teenagers! My husband took off work to go to this appointment with me and he was like, "was it really necessary to drive 3 hours for this?" I will keep my 2 month appointment because they will discuss lab work I had done at month one (and since I paid $200 for that lab work, I want the results!) But I am seriously thinking about not going to any more follow up appointments. What do you guys think? Also, anybody else having trouble getting all the vitamins in? I try to really concentrate on the multivitamins, but I slack off on the calcium. I never got much calcium before surgery anyway and now I try to eat more cheese because of the protein, so maybe I'm good?

    Carbonation

I finally asked my NUT why I could not drink carbonated water (that's the only kind I like, otherwise I just don't drink water.) She said the uncomfortable full feeling would be the only problem. She said it would not stretch the sleeve, but the bubbles could bother you. She said if I did not have a problem with it, then to go ahead and drink it. I do better drinking it, because regular water gives me indigestion, but carbonated water just gets burped up. I drink Sprite and Coke Zero now and they do not bother me like regular water.

    Stop sipping

I am 2 months out and I still can only take small sips without pain.

    Things Iook forward to....

My goals also! I am 2 months post op (sleeved March 27, 2013). I have lost 36 pounds and I am able to do some of these things already! Won't be long before you can too!

    So depressed and weak today

I too felt that way during my first week. Then I got to where the taste of water made me want to throw up! Hang it there, it gets better. I am now 2 months post op and I feel great. Still little things to get used to, but not like that first couple of weeks.
  15. Wow, you have gotten so much good advice that's there's not really much I can say. Just wanted to let you know I support you. Yes, it's hard, but remember if it was that easy to lose 19 pounds, none of us would be sleevers! I am almost 2 months post op (sleeved March 27) and it is really easy not to cheat. If I eat too much at a meal, I get really miserable feeling and sometimes I will throw up, so I know to stop eating when that first full feeling hits, even if its after 2 bites. I do eat something I shouldn't, like one cookie, but that's better than 1/2 a bag like before. I am still losing weight, getting into clothes I haven't worn in a while and getting compliments all the time. Trust me, IT'S WORTH THE STRUGGLE AND YOU CAN DO IT! Good luck. God Bless!

    Anyone NOT lose hair

Well, I am only 1 1/2 months post op, but I have not had any hair loss. I was told hair loss was a result of not eating enough protein. I never had any problem eating protein, not sure if that's why no hair loss or not. Also make sure to take your multi-vitamin.

Will I ever be able to eat my Faves again?

You will be able to eat your favorites again! Just have to give it sometime. I am only 1 1/2 months post op, but I can eat just about anything, just not so much of course. You still have to be careful and make good choices, but done sensibly you can have anything. You will have to watch the pastas and bread (carbs). I try to limit mine, but not completely ban them from my diet. When I eat lasagna or something like that, I will take one bite then try to pick the meat and cheese out leaving mostly pasta. Of course, I still can only eat 4 bites and I am stuffed! I have lost my cravings for sweets almost completely and I find the bread cravings are slowing down. Still have trouble determining hunger pains from thirst, but I'm getting there. Hang in there!

    Need help slowing down

Thanks for all the tips! I downloaded the app "eat slower." Hopefully this will help me! I am tired of finishing my meal before everyone else gets started! :)
  19. I am 2 1/2 months post surgery. I am still eating too fast. I can't make myself slow down and take small bites. Then after eating I end up with a stomach ache or throwing up. Does anybody have any ideas or tips for me?
  20. My NUT is nice, so far! The only problem I have with her is she is about a size 0! It's hard to take someone seriously on food when she looks like she is anorexic!!

    Post op gas pains...

Mine were worse the first week, but they lasted well into the 2nd and 3rd week, but they got easier each day. I found that drinking carbonated water mixed with regular water helped some with releasing the gas.
  22. so long to hear I am not alone is this!!! LOL! I gave birth to twins but that didn't hurt like trying to have a BM 2 weeks after being sleeved!!
  23. I asked my nutritionist about soda, she said the carbonation might cause discomfort but if it didn't then I could drink the sugar free kind. She did say no caffeine for three months because of irritation. I did drink half of a diet coke about 2 weeks post op and I got very sick and was vomiting. Guess I can wait a couple of more months after all. But in the meantime, hello caffeine free, diet Dr Pepper. (in moderation, of course).

    After procedure...fırst few weeks

I was told by the medical team to have clear liquids (water, broth, jello, sugerfree popsicles) only the first week post op. That sounds hard but it really wasn't. My stomach just wasn't ready for food. Starting on week two, I could have semi-soft foods and protein shakes. My favorite is Muscle Milk Chocolate. I also used Slim Fast, 3-2-1. Good luck!
