I Had Plastic Surgery 10-yrs after Bariatric Surgery
newoutlookonlife replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
You look fabulous!! I have so much work i want to get done but just don't have the money to do it right now. How was the healing from the thigh lift? -
The shakes have a nice flavour but are over priced and do not have a high enough protein content. Your better off sticking with your premier protein. More protein and I a assuming at a better cost. Just my opinion. It was just over double the cost for me to take visalus in comparisionwiththe unflavoured powder I use now and my current powder has almost double the protein

Tailbone pain since weight loss
newoutlookonlife replied to newoutlookonlife's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks everyone for your replies, I assumed I would not be alone I just wish it wasn't so painful. I will work on finding some more glute excercises. I have been doing Zumba and some yoga but struggle with some of the parts that require me to sit or sit up from a lying position.. Especially with the ab exercises as it's super painful. I also find that I shift form one butt cheek to another regularity which has greatly impacted my posture and increased my headaches that I was finally rid of. I just never thought that this would become such a pain in my ass.. Literally -
I tried to reply to a thread mentioning this but apparently I don't have enough posts to post I that forum.. My only major concern since loosing 113 lbs has been my extremely sore buttocks. I am experiencing immense discomfort sitting now that my tailbone is exposed with no cushion. My tailbone seems to be sticking out further that anything else now so when I sit all my weight titres on it and it can be very painful. In fact when I sit up from a lying position I have to roll onto my side because otherwise it causes a lot of pain. I have told my dr about it but I can't seem to get him or anyone else to take me seriously. I have requested a special seat from an occupational therapist for my office job but honestly I am starting to wish they could just remove some of the bone. Has anyone else experienced this? Has anything helped?

Best and worst "compliments"
newoutlookonlife replied to Healthier2day1227's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My best complement so far was from a gal I have known all my life. She hadn't seen me in6 months or so and then we were at a meeting together. She leaned over and asked me who I was, when I introduced myself she was very embarrassed and couldn't believe my transformation. I told her not to be embarrassed, it was one of the best compliments I have ever received -
All of my December sleevers...
newoutlookonlife replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved one year ago today. Down 110 pounds and loving life! Went through old pictures last night and can't believe the transformation. No regrets, no complications. Maintenance is a little harder than I thought as I find out habits sneaking up on me. My biggest regain has been 5 pounds after two weeks of gorging on Christmas baking so now I am back to basics, protein first and back to tracking. Congrats to everyone for their successes this past year. -
All of my December sleevers...
newoutlookonlife replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved 10/12/12 so I am getting close to my one year.. Started at 255 and now sitting at 143. I surpassed my goal but I too am struggling with the maintenance phase.. Halloween candy also took me down for a while and now the Christmas baking has been tempting me.. Oi time to get back on track! If anyone has tips for maintenance I would be interested too. -
Just putting it out there, so 'dirty' little secrets may see the light of day!
newoutlookonlife replied to Madam Reverie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
10 months out and still I find myself battling with craving crappy food most days are okay but then I have a day like today that sneaks up and slaps me right in the face.. Today I did great until I opened the freezer and there were the peanut butter cookies.. Two of them found their way into my belly.. Then I was cleaning out the camper and we had chocolates for smores... two small chocolates made their way into my belly... then this evening I had two girl guide cookies which my father in law brought by for the kids haven't had this bad of a day in a long time... logged it all into my fitness pal and it wasn't as bad as I thought... I wasn't stress eating which used to be the culprit..I was eating out of bordem.. I have cleaned out the crap from all of these places and I need to find something better to do with my time. I am at goal and I think that maintenance is playing with my mind a little.. Thanks for sharing everyone, its kind of nice to know that there are others out there like me -
I think that 22 lbs in 2 weeks is awesome! I would say that expecting 40 more lbs lost in the next 6 weeks may be setting the bar too high and then you may be setting yourself up for failure. Pick obtainable goals like walking 3 days a week, or working on different food choices etc. or 15 more lbs lost.

All of my December sleevers...
newoutlookonlife replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
9 months out yesterday and I reached goal.. 102 lbs down.. 2 pounds shy of a normal BMI... Everyday I still have to make the conscious effort to make the right food choices. I still find it pretty easy to slip back into old habits. I am hoping one day that gets a little easier. -

The evenings get me too. I have gotten myself some omega three gummies and at night hen I feel like snacking that is when I have my omega 3. 3-4 of them and I am full and no real harm done. I found it a great way to trick my brain

I had a personal trainer do a 12 week aquatic program with me. It was amazing. There are tons of things you can do and use. I would suggest googling it or if you can go to a few classes at a pool it would be great for learning new ideas.

Vitamins
newoutlookonlife replied to No Day But Today's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I resumed my vitamins at 3 weeks post op as instructed. I never crushed them, I have two that are pretty big but I have been able to tolerate them pretty well. The only thing I couldn't tolerate anymore was my omega 3s because I couldn't take them with enough food to keep the aftertaste down. -
Im really trying but this stall is getting me depressed
newoutlookonlife replied to emr80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Start taking your measurements. I usually do my measurements once a month and when I hit a stall. You will be amazed at the inches lost even though the scale isnt moving!! It's always a great way to stay motivated while in a stall. There is a huge difference in your pictures and i bet that will be reflected in your measurements. Form someone who lost really really quickly in the beginning I can assure you that everyone hits these moments. I slowed right down and am loosing at a snails pace. After losing a lot quickly it was hard for me to wrap my head around. That's why I have found other methods such as the measurements and side by side pics to keep me motivated.
