  1. Hi Everyone, It has been awhile since I have been back on here. I am now 3 months out and completely stalled. I don't think I have lost anything since the beginning of October. I was 25lbs down from surgery date of 8-12 (278 to 253) but since then, I have felt no difference. I am completely and utterly discouraged. Is this all I have to look forward to? Staying the same as I have always been and not going down anymore?! What was the point of the pain and drastic surgery then?! I tried to walk 20 minutes everyday but that has been sliding to the wayside. My diet was good but the more disappointed I get, the crappier I have eaten. Yes, I know. I am probably submarining myself. It is emotional eating. I get that. What I don't get is if I were to change my diet again (which I have been doing), am I going to start losing the weight again? My doctor and nutritionist did not give me any sort of guideline for how many calories/carbs etc. I am supposed to be eating now so I have no idea if I am doing this right or not. I am sorry to rant but I need help. Any guidance given is completely greatful. I am crying just writing this because I want to succeed but I am so completely lost.
  2. Hi there. I was sleeved on the 12th too. I have that same pain. Asked the dr and they mentioned they had put a stitch to the ab muscle which is why the large incision is "stuck down" looking. They said it will pop in 2-3weeks and then all the pain would be gone. Which I am so looking towards cause it wraps around my whole side and towards my belly button. Just one more thing to work through with this I suppose.
  3. I'm not sure. My Dr. Said any pills I take immediately after were to be no bigger than a pencil eraser. My stomach seems ok with them. They are small enough I suppose. My best recommendation is to ask about those and ask to start something to help you go as soon as possible. 6 days out and am still stuck. Very uncomfortable!!!
  4. I am 5 days post-op and on the full liquids but feel hungry! I am not having a problem getting liquids in thankfully. But I feel hungry. I had a half a can of soup then waited a bit to see if there would be any problems but am ok. Now I feel hunger pains again. Quite frankly I am freaked out about this. According to everything I have read, this should not be so. Not sure what to do a d what is going on. Anybody?
  5. Hahaha...Thanks for that!!!
  6. I had mine on Monday also. Unfortunately I have the opposite problem..back up. Dr. Told me miralax. But I do understand the burping. It feels constant! Gasx strips help as well as little walks around the house. I also noticed sleeping elevated at night helps too. I guess we just have to hang in there! It's gotta stop at some point, right?!
  7. Hi everyone, I am now 4 days post-op and never thought I would get here! The pain was excruciating immediately after but is slowly letting up a tiny bit. I seem to have gas all the time and left side still hurts. My back is hurting but I know this is from me tensing up as I move around. What I am most worried about is my abdomen being so hard when I am standing or moving around. Laying down is fine but walking it feels like a hard ball. Anyone else have this? When does it go away? And when did you start feeling normal again? I am scared something is wrong.
  8. So I had my surgery yesterday. That was the worst pain I have ever felt. Now I am getting up every hour to pee because of this potassium drip. I am so tired I want to cry. On top of which I have pain radiating down my left shoulder. I will be so happy to go home today. Just get me through the next 7 hrs!!!
  9. EEEPPPP!!! I just got my surgery check-in time for Monday and now it is seeming all too real! It has all been 'theory' that i was going to have this surgery but now with an actual time I need to be at the hospital, I am starting to freak out. What am I thinking doing this?! Is this the right thing to do?! Am i sure this is the only way?! I know it is common to be nervous before major events but now I am starting to second-guess myself. On top of which, I have a sinus infection and am on antibiotics that stop on Sunday...I think it is all too much! Crapola! Stupid brain and stupid doubts
  10. Thank you so much everyone!!! You all helped calm me down. I called the surgeons office and they told me to go to primary care doctor and get some antibiotics. They did say as long as I didn't have a fever on Monday I will be fine for surgery. My doctor got me started on a zpack. Plus I am still taking everything else. Hopefully this will be kicked our by Monday. Nothing like throwing in another loop in this journey!!
  11. So this morning i woke up with a sore throat and now my neck is starting to hurt. I immediately went out to CVS and bought Airborne and Coldez and saline nasal spray. I am hoping this will punch it outta me but what if it blooms into a full cold?! Will they cancel my surgery on Monday?! I looked it up and most said no, they will go on with it as long as you dont have a fever or are congested. I am so upset right now. What if they cancel or reschedule?! I have been through so much just to get to this point. ARGGGGGGG!!!!! Anyone had this problem?
  12. Request it! Call your doctor and request it be added to the preop orders. It's your life and health! Insurance might have a hissy fit but in the long run, who cares. You will go into the surgery with piece of mind and that is worth more than anything.
  13. Hi everyone I am 4 days in to the 2 week liver prep diet. My surgery is Aug 12th. My surgeon has me on 2or3 bars plus 2 bariatric advantage shakes plus 1 ba soy crisp then one small meal each day. It isn't hard at all to stick to for me. However....the gas and bloating is not fun. Is it just me or have any others had this problem too? I am using Quest bars with no sugar alcohols and then the Bariatric Advantage shakes and soy crisps. (The shakes are the worst.) I know I am ingesting a ton more protein and perhaps more fiber but this is ridiculous! At the end of the day I feel like the snoopy blimp! Anyone else have/had this problem? What did you do to help?
