    Free Exercise Music Cd

I did it! I walked today! I have been trying to get over the frumpies and everyone said "Exercise and Sex" so I loaded up the CD player and went for a 1/2 hour walk. Got the first 6 songs in...WOW! Thanks Kare! I think "The Fire Inside' is your song, too. I have never really listened to it till today. I like it alot. I don't think I've gotten to DeLarla's song yet. "You Crack Me Up" was a contender, but she's not "a twisted wreck"..well, maybe on some days...LOL but I'm thinking it will be Junk food...maybe, we'll see after I walk again, and I'll start on song 7. Love the CD. Thanks!!! Sex is next. Night all!!! :)

    Charlotte January Chat Time

I'm here! I'm here! I have been frumpy lately...trying to get past it, doing lots of reading. I walked for 1/2 hour today and that felt good. Lots of stress...feeling blah. But I'm checking in on you all!!! So glad you are feeling better, Angie. WTG on a great surgery. Do you miss that organ? LOL Even I watched the Panthers game. I don't usually get into football but it was a good game, even tough I'm lost most of the time. Yay Panthers!

32 is young. Don't tie those tubes yet. So, no pills, no Patches. What about Depo shots? I can't stand those things. Everyone I talk to that's had them likes the "no periods" but they still leave you wondering...since you have no schedule to be sure you aren't pregnant...you know the sigh of relief each month when you get that period and KNOW for sure your birth control worked this month? Not with Depo. Plus you will have so many other changes going on after your surgery, it'd be just another factor to consider. Hmmm. Condoms. Ewww. Do they still make those sponges? I'm sorry about your Mom. I don't care how old you are, you still need your Mom. I had my kids at 34 and 37, almost 38. Hubby is 5 years older than me. But I think our ages are an advantage to parenting. Give it a few years. You aren't too old for another child. Besides, if you don't get this birth control thing figured out, you may get preggo sooner than later! hehe You'll do fine. Why no patches, I wonder?

    What helps cure the frumpies?

I need ideas, people. Why am I so frumpy? Is my iron low? I'm taking Viactive multi-vitamin daily. I'm eating okay. I'm plateau-ed on the weight loss...actually, struggling to stay below 190. I'm exhausted, unmotivated, kind of negative...no, kind of not anything. Numb? Blahhh. What's up with this? I want my bubbly self back. I haven't seen it in over a month. I thought it was because I was sick at Christmas. Then it was PMS? Nope, that's not it. I can't shake it. I'm just frumpy. Any clues? I'm up for all the ideas...I'll tell you whatever you want to know. Diet? Exercise? Lack of exercise? Depression? Is that it? If so, why would that be? It's such an odd feeling, it's kind of like when I quit smoking before I got preggo with my first and got depressed, like I had lost my best friend, or had some unresolved conflict and I couldn't remember what it was. Am I mad at someone? Stressed? I just don't know. :help: I'm missing something and I don't know what it is.

    What helps cure the frumpies?

I just got this...yes! Especially at church. I dropped the Missions Committee, said "No" to teaching Sunday School, and was about to offer to help with Wed Nite dinners but I won't. I can help clean up once I'm there. Enough already! You are right! So be proud that I'm putting up boundaries there. Bells are a family affair. Hubby and I and my Dad and hubby's brother all ring. The rest of the things aren't every week, just once every 6 weeks or so for one thing or another. As long as I keep it on my calendar, it isn't bad. Thanks for the hugs, everyone. I really appreciate it.

    What helps cure the frumpies?

LMBO. I just did! I ordered them from LLBean, so they are comfy and cute. Just got them in the mail Sat! I think this time of the year is a big factor with the SAD. Not sure about the hormones? Could I be pre-menopausal? I don't think that's it. I'm only 40 and was a late bloomer. My Mom was, too, and started with full menopause symptoms around age 50. I think I have some time, and I'm a regular as rain. I walked! for about 45 min. Felt good. If I can keep this up I think I'll get through it. It also helped to write down all my junk above. Hubby says the frumpies started at Christmas time when my brother was here and was so shocked at the condition of my Dad's home. I felt so bad for Dad, and took it on, emotionally, ya know? So that has turned into action and it's just going to take time. Big Sexes tonight! Rock on! I'm sure there's a banana for this, but I'll spare you guys. LOL :faint:

    What helps cure the frumpies?

Okay people. I have an appointment with hubby tonight. I'd just like to take some inventory of the things on my mind and let's see if some of this frumpy is stress-related? These are my responsibilities, in addition to the care of my hubby, home, and children: My Dad: 67 years old now, has a Warthins Tumor on his Parotid gland (neck) and is having it removed in a few weeks. Has an elderly dog that he may need to have put to sleep. She pees all over. His home is a mess and it's keeping him sick all the time. Possible mold in the carpet from wet spots from the dog...she can't make it off the sofa to the door so she gets the same spot all the time. This effects his ability to get a good nights' sleep since she wakes him up all the time needing to go outside. I don't know what he's worried about, she never makes it to the door anyway and the carpet is ruined. There is dust and clutter everywhere. He can't maintain his home alone. I have been going over there weekly to help him clean. It's getting better but it's bad. sigh. Church responsibilities: Hand Bell Choir practice weekly, Wed night 2-3 graders, Nursery, Thurs Bible Study, Sign Committee, Phone Chain, Meal Ministry team, Childrens' church. I'm not doing another thing at church. No committees (dropped Missions committee) no classes, no studies, no more volunteering. I'm full up! Mom: getting re-married in a few weeks (they still don't have a date yet, but Feb sometime) Sister: just had a hysterectomy and is back to work and doing well. She's making plans to sell her house and move in with Dad (she and her hubby) so the house needs to start getting ready for some cleaning and rennovating. I'm barely keeping up there! Brother: just a few weeks ago had a heart catheterization for a 70% blockage. He's only 45. Mother-in-Law: thank God for her, she's my sanity. But I do go see her at the nursing home 2-3 times a week and do her laundry as needed. Daughter: cheerleading practice every Tues night and games on Saturdays for the next 8 weeks. My job: 7 1/2 hours a week sitting with an elderly woman. I can take my son and make a little extra money and it's nice but it's a time commitment. Hubby: just starting to build a home. A spec house to sell. He closes on the lot tomorrow and has his subs lined up (except the sheet rocker) and closing for the construction loan is next week. He doesn't have alot of remodeling work lined up so $$$ is tight for him. Any wonder I'm frumpy, right? It's official. Sex and Exercise are at the top of my list. Thanks ya'll.

    restless leg syndrome

Okay, iron supplement seems to work for hubby. I finally bought some, he took it for about 5 days and noticed a difference after a few! So, over the weekend, he didn't take it, started having trouble again. His antsy little skinny legs just don't want to stay still! So he took another today, and will continue daily. If it gets better, I guess it's the iron! Wow! Thanks everyone! BTW, I bought the store brand of Slow FE.

My opinion is moral/ethical. An IUD makes the uterus uninhabitable for a fetilized egg. So if you have an IUD, you could be getting pregnant every month, then basically have a miscarriage every month because the fertilized egg can't implant due to the presence of the IUD. So for me, it's like a monthly abortion, potentially. I am personally much more comfortable with birth control that prevents an egg being fertilized to begin with. My personal beliefs are that life begins at conception. I couldn't justify the use of an IUD for myself. You don't have to agree, it's my personal opinion and you asked. I really really like my tubal ligation...very effective and no hormones!! Yay! Can't wait to find out your date. Could Dr B tie your tubes while he's in there for the RNY? Just wonderin'.

The one piece of clothing every plus size girl needs?

I am always on the lookout for comfy black pants. One of these days pants with a real waist band and zipper will be comfy to me, but I still want my elastic waist, black pants that can be dressed up with shoes and a nice shirt, untucked, of course. I'm NO fashion diva though. That is the one item I look to replace and buy several pair at a time. The right bra has made a big difference, too.

Question for all you Moms & Dads out there....

Boppy Pillow...oh yeah! Or a vibrating bouncy seat. And big packs of sizes 2 & 3 diapers. They make swings with remote controls now. Cloth diapers. Big thumbs up on the thin blankets suggestion. A Pack-N-Play with bassinet (fits nicely in mom and dad's room while the little one is still, well, little). A baby monitor. Onesies. OH! Help with sending out the baby announcements. You can do some of this before hand...addressing envelopes. She needs to be able to concentrate on having that baby home. That was a chore for me. But maybe she's more organized than I am. Or offer to take a "Call list" of people she wants you to call when the baby is born. This cuts down on endless phone calls and distractions. I LOVED getting meals at my house every night for the first week when I got home. Hubby went back to work and I never had to worry about dinner. Leftovers were lunch. Hot, real food, not junk. It was heaven. Our church has Meal Ministry teams that provide meals...wonderful if you could coordinate that with family/friends. I looked forward to a short visit and showing off the newborn to whoever delivered the meal that day. Wow...fun thread!

Yes! I now get the e-mails in digest form...one e-mail with all the day's reminders and testimonials. If it's not a good day to read through...no whining! and I click delete. One day last week I decided, on a fluke, to read through one and found out that her Body Clutter book is out. I have been waiting for that! So I ordered it, and it should arrive soon. I'll post a book review.

  20. Here is where I will make promises and keep them. The other day I promised I would Iron and by golly, I did! The ironing is caught up, and I did it at midnight because I said I would and I did. I also promised I would have my desk cleaned by Sunday. I won't promise what the floor will look like, but the desk will be in order. Here are other projects to be done: Hang the pictures from Christmas Hang the bed canopy in DDs room (DONE!) Clean the attic Put away the Christmas decorations properly (DONE!) Clean the bonus room Move the bookshelves (DONE!) Move the desk and mirror (DONE!) I don't know why but if I post it here I get excited about posting that something is complete. The accountability makes it fun and gives me the oomph to complete it. No dates yet on the posted projects but Sunday is the deadline for the desk. I'm all over it. Okay Ladies! I may be the only one here needing some cheerleading, but if you want to post your projects too, this is a great place to post a list. I'll cheer for you, I promise!

Hi all remember me?????AthyKay Long Story

My advice (for what it's worth): see your PCP, get a referral for an endoscope. Make sure the doc doing the endo knows about banding. Based on your recent symptoms, your insurance should pay for ruling out band erosion (vomiting blood? hello! that's excuse enough!) I haven't had an endo yet, but I'm pretty sure they put you under a twilight sedation, put a camera scope down your throat and take a look. It's very important that they go through the band and look at the underside of the stoma. If that checks out okay, then it's probably not band-related. I'm no doc though. that's what I think. I'm sure you will get more great advice here. Oh, and HI!!!!

    fill help

Sherry, I'd really do some researching before puttting all your eggs in Bauman's basket. Go to www.beliteweight.com and see if Kuri has any experience with your band. And try www.obesitycontrolcenter.com for Dr Ortiz. You need to find out what your fill issues are...special needles? etc. At the very least, you will know better what to ask Dr Bauman, and get a better idea about whether or not he can fill you. Before I went to MX for banding, I called Bauman's office about getting local aftercare...check-ups, fills, etc. and I got a wishy-washy "he may not be doing fills for patients other than his" which translates to "Mexican Bandsters" so I moved right along to Dr G., who had no issues at all with filling me. I'm thinking, if Dr G, WOULD fill you, but CAN'T, why would Bauman be able to? The best scenario is that Bauman is somehow familiar with your band and doesn't mind giving it a shot. I just don't know! And I just don't want you dissappointed, and out $200. See what you find out from the two MX docs. They are both reputable, good docs. Go get 'em! And keep us posted.
