    We ALL NEED this!!!

Wow! What a lift, I found myself smiling! You know, there's a TV commercial out by...I don't know who?...about the 5 things you can do every day that help you be healthy. Eat whole grains Walk more Eat less fat yada yada So the ad shows people doing those things and getting cheers of encouragement from others...the kid starting off the day with a bowl of healthy Cereal has cheerleaders in his kitchen telling him how he ROCKS! and the lady who goes to the mall and parks her car waaaay out so she has to walk farther gets cheered on by loads of people saying "good job! Yeah! way to walk it!!!" and so on. I keep forgetting to cheer myself on when I choose well. It would do me lots of good envisioning crowds of people yelling and being so proud of ME! I'm going back to that site again...I need some more of that!!!

    Cut down that hurt

Shame shame shame. That was rude and ugly and unacceptable. I'd never go in that place again. Tacky. Tasteless. Immature. Sigh. I'm so sorry. I know how comments can sting for a long time. Those are the kinds of things you forget for a while, and as soon as you remember them, ugh, the feeling. Please don't hold on to that. Find something to say to yourself each time you think of it. Attack that thinking. Those guys were sooo wrong. Shame on them.
  4. Hate Mail?! Nah!!!!!!!! Do what you gotta do. Your attitude sounds perfectly reasonable and intelligent to me. Take that break. Just don't forget about us! Looking forward to your return and an update on your band journey. You go girl!!! Just come back, 'kay?

    Yay, I found you!

There you are!! I ws wondering where you ran off to...don't lose us now! Yes, you are n the NC Forum, so when you click on it, see the list of all the latest NC threads. We are meeting for lunch In Charlotte on the 18th...see the thread titled Feb 18th for details. JudyBellyBand lives in the Raleigh area. She posts (I think) on the Yahoo board for NC Bandsters. But you could click on her User Name (just find an older thread with her name on it) and Private Message her and I'm sure she will reply. There IS a group that used to get together in your area. But you can always drive to Charlotte to see us!!! Keep us posted on your progress. UHC is good about paying for banding so you should be scheduled lickity split! Glad you found us again!

    Slow Losers - Unite!

I can soooo relate to that. Back to the basics, Kryssa. You can do this! And I'm also extra tight at that time of the month. Sometimes it's surprising! *Ooooo...stuck?...helllooooo!* check the calendar! Small bites are probabaly the hardest for me. I can chew for days, I can eat slow, even if my food gets cold, but there's nothing better than a big ole mouthful of yummy food! But bands don't like that, and bands rule! when it comes to eating. Small bites, slooow down, and chew to goo!!!

    Needle-Free Remote Control Fills!

Funny, Dawg. I just knew you were going to say something a bit more risque along the lines of "remote control"...think about THAT one! **bzzzzzztt!** wahooo!!! Okay, so I understand this remote control thing a bit better...she doesn't have a balloon for filling with saline, her band adjusts mechanically by 1mm incrememnts. Her band could be from 18mm to 30mm...something like that. Still cool, and no needles!

    Hello from Germany

I think I understand...you don't have a balloon in your band that is filled with saline, or air, the band is solid, and lossens or tightens mechanically, right? Your weight loss is wonderful...look at you! Well done! Let us know how your next adjustment goes...tell us how blocked you are, and at what number. This is very interesting!

    Hello from Germany

Okay, I had this huge reply earlier today and lost it...man, I hate it when that happens! All the spontaneity is gone. Anyhow, that is sooo cool. I was wonder about some type of reservoir for the saline that isn't in the band yet...is that it on the side of the band there? The clear part? How much does the band hold? Okay, US costs for banding are in the range of 15,000-30,000 US dollars. Give or take a few. It really depends on the doc, the pre-op tests required, the health of the patient, insurance, etc. I had my band placed in MX for $8950 US cash. That included everything but airfare and travel expenses. I am going to start another thread to point folks to your introduction. This remote control banding thing is soooo cool!

Uhhh, I still don't get it...Okay okay, I'll go try. But! Now I know what the heck they are singing everytime I watch Dora the Explorer with the kiddos... "We did it, we did it, we did it, hooray! Lo Hicimos! We did it!" Lo Hicimos...I never knew that's what they were singing! Wow! Thanks, and I'll never sing the Dora song wrong again. I just added another "ohhh, we did it" since it didn't even occur to me it might be SOMEthing in Spanish?...helloooooooo!!!! Oh, and the purse is lover-ly...but the girl?!!!!!!!!!! Goodness gracious...she blows me away, how beautiful!!!! Hey Hanna!!!!

    Hello from Germany

OMGosh, a remote control adjustable band?!!!!!!! You have GOT to be kidding?! How exciting is that??? WOW! Okay, here's the basic US info in regards to banding. If you have private insurance and WLS is a covered benefit, a local bariatric surgeon can do your banding. If you don't have insurance, or if your insurance does not provide such benefits, you have to pay cash for your band (like me) and if it's too expensive, you can go to Mexico (like me) and have it done for a bit less cash. Some Americans will travel to Europe or other places to get banded. The only US FDA (Federal Drug Administration) approved band is the Inamed. So even if Americans get banded in another country, many times they will be sure to get an Inamed band so that local aftercare can be found. Many many bariatric surgeons will not provide fills or other band care for bands that are not FDA approved. However, we do have a few folks here with the Swedish Band, or the French Mid-Band, although I am still unsure about the differences. For the most part, the folks on this board have one of the Inamed bands. As for hospitals, it seems banding is taking a turn and being done more and more in outpatient surgery centers. In the past, they have been done in hospitals with 1-2 overnight stays. hmmmm, does that begin to answer your questions? Wow, a remote control band...that is soooooooooo cool!

    Update!!! NOT THE BAND!!!

Kathy, thanks for keeping your LBT family updated. I'm praying for peace and no Cancer!!! God bless you!

    Hello from Germany

Hello Sabine! Welcome to LBT! Are you banded? I see you have lost...I think...21.7kg? Well done! One of the biggest differences you will find is that us Americans weigh in pounds, but most of our European and Austrailian bandsters use kg too. Were you banded in Germany? What kind of band do you have? How long have you been banded? I think many here are as interested in Germany as you are in America!! It's wonderful to have you!

    Help! I'm addicted!

Yeah, sometimes I feel pitiful for checking in all the time...but then, the lack of LBT oxygen takes over and I just HAVE to come take a biigggg whiff...[insert nose sniffing long and deep here}...ahhhhh, that's better!!!!
