Hey Connie! Welcome to LBT and congrats on your weight loss so far! My parents are both from Bristol (the Va side) so I have lots of family up your way. Anyhow, just wanted to say HI! Glad you are here!

WTG P'nut! It's been years since I hit Red Robins. they have this burger with BBQ sauce and cheese...oh man. I would CRAVE those back in the old days, when my eating frenzy was at it's worst. Sweet tea, plenty of it, the big burger, the fires, a side salad with Ranch dressing, just to say I had some veggies, right? and walked out stuffed because I ate it ALL!!!!! Now way, now, baby! Well done. Hi Mom!!!!!!

I did it. It was an accident but I actually managed to make a picture avatar all by myself and it worked!!! How's it look? I'm not sure I like seeing my mug every time I post something...I might miss my Blossom-y wreath and go fetch it! I did it!!
-
Me, too! How did I miss this thread? Sooo glad your trip went well. Happy losing!!!
-
Yeah, the more money you spend, the better it works. The more difficult it is, the more worthwhile. Life has to be VERY difficult, or it just wouldn't be fun! LOL I got a treadmill and have barely used it. If I could keep it in a spot near a radio and TV, it would be better. Otherwise, it sits. So be willing to put it in a prominent place, you'll be okay. Work it, girl!

Hmmm, odd about the Nexium, that should have worked if it's reflux. Prevacid is prescription and some here have said it works better than OTC Prilosec. So maybe just trying another type of acid reducer will help? Worth a shot? Aloe Vera juice can be found with the stomach meds (Tums, etc.) at both Wal Mart and Walgreens. It's in a large, gallon (I think) container, usually on the bottom shelf. It's about $10 a bottle, give or take a few. The taste isn't great, but it's not horrible either. I drink 3-4 ounces at bedtime most nights, especially if I have had anything stuck or PB'd. Let us know how it goes.

I agree, treat it as reflux and see if that helps. Prilosec works well, too. And Aloe Vera juice instead of water to flush out the pouch. It's very healing.

Catch on to what? That the band is a bad choice? That the Inamed band is a poor design? That doctors aren't trained well? All or None of the above? What am I missing? I really really want your experienced opinion. Thanks. Oh, and here's wishes for a safe and speedy band removal surgery. I'm so glad you won't be uncomfortable anymore. And this is the place to be to maintain your loss...or better yet, increase it! Anyhow, good luck.

How funny, my brother and sister both call me Kat. And I posted on your Missing Lesbian thread, too, so there. I'm as crack-headed as you when it comes to LBT.
-
Yes, where'd she go? I don't have any info, but I miss her. Angie!!!!!! Where are you?!!!!!!!
-
Yeah, I suppose that's not very threatening, huh? LOL Still! Stop Deleting!!!
-
Go throw away dishes! THEY are replaceable. Old threads are not. Step away form the Delete button. Or I will NEVER post on another of your threads again, and you know you will have them, too. You could never leave LBT for long. You KNOW this! Stop the drama, take a break, see you when the dishes and old tupperware are gone. ((((hugs))))

I was given some type of sleeping pill at bedtime in the hospital after my surgery in MX and always wondered what the heck it was, because I slept sooooo great that night! Them someone who bothered to ask told me it was Ativan. Wow. Good stuff!

Deleting Threads?!!!! Seriously? Or just subscriptions?...

Morality VS Self Preservation (Neighbor issues)
the best me replied to Marimaru's topic in The Lounge
Geez, it's easy to say call CPS when I'm not the one doing it. And, in my opinion, spanking a kid while saying those words and in that frame of mind is NOT discipline. It's abuse. Poor kids. Could you ask the landlord about moving to another apartment, and once you know you will be moving, call? Maybe "baby daddy" won't be able to hunt you down? How scary. -
Dear God in Heaven, if I didn't have coffee I'd be a goner. I brew a few cups and coffee up. Prolly not the best thing, but it works. That, and guzzle a bottle of Water. Oh, here's something legit. I buy those 6oz packets of chicken breast slices and divide them up into (3) 2oz snack baggies. If it's a long time between lunch and dinner, I'll grab a bag and nibble. Great, high protien, no carb snack that's also easy-cheesy.

Gaynor, try doing liquids for a few days, and take the Pepcid AC or Prilosec...all to get your band soothed to see if the burning pain goes away. I suspect you are too tight...just a tad. When you go back to regular foods, be careful and keep a food journal. You may be able to ease back into eating, you may need a small unfill. Sometimes just .1cc will do it! Let us know.

I'll set the DVR to recod today! I love Emma Thompson movies. Wonder if we'll see you in the audience? I'll look as best I can...what were you wearing?

Why didn't we know ... before surgery?
the best me replied to Tricia K.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think this is a great thread with a poor Title. Sorry Tricia K. Your title just doesn't do your point justice. And once again, I see all sides of the issue. So, ta ta, I'm signing off now.:peace: -
Wait a sec, here. I think I missed some thing in my weight... (H-highest weight, S-weight at surgery, J-weight when joined club, C-current weight, G-goal weight. Amount in parenthesis is total amount lost overall) Okay: H=242 S=223 J=188 C=188 (-54) There now...that's better!
-
Oh, so that's how I'm missing it...but lookie here what comes up when I insert a quote! abc check in the upper right hand corner...cool! Thanks Alex! I'm spell checking now! wait, you have to download it from the internet, then I guess you can use it anytime? Have you done this Christina?

How are you feeling, Gaynor? My post will bump this up and hopefully our Gall Bladder experts will advise you.
-
Water down that grape juice, and stay away from anything acidic since you are queasy. You are doing great! Congrats!

Okay, read my User name about the Egg Drop Soup. Oops, I changed my user name thingy...it used to say Eat Egg Drop Soup Post-Op. I think you are right about the pudding being like yogurt and the cottage cheese in with solid foods. I still have to be very careful with cottage cheese, probably because my bites are too big, but I generally get the golf ball in my chest when I do cottage cheese unless I take the tiniest bite and chew. So I just don't eat it most of the time. Anyhow, be careful with it. Look in the food Forum...theres a Sticky about the Food Stages. It's really helpful and gives some great ideas about what to eat in each stage. Follow YOUR docs orders, but you can get some good food ideas there. Egg Drop soup is the bomb.
