    The Gone for Good Club

Done! Okay P'nut, I went through all 20 pages of this thread, and with the exception of my intro, I unchecked "Show Signature" on each of my posts. This thread is getting long!!!! It takes forever to load all of tickers and Glitters and such. So, I did my part! Come on ya'll. We'll have 150 pages of tickers at this rate! Help out us poor folks with Evil Dial-up :hat:

    American Idol

Thanks Kimber, that's just what I needed! I'll keep up better now! I kept tying to quote you, and was going to ask why your sig was so long, and why it wouldn't end quote...:hat: Darn dial up...it all made sense when the images finally appeared. I gotta get high speed somehow, sigh.

    I just feel like crying

YES! That's it for me, too! I NEED to have that "I'm in Diet mode" mindset in order to do well. Left on my own, I'm choosing poorly and not getting anywhere. Others refuse to ever diet again, take on that "it's a lifestyle change" mentality (I persoanlly don't get that...for some reason it goes over my head?) and do really well. Do what works for YOU! If it means going on a diet in your head...your band is super good at helping you stick to it. Good luck!

new to this web site but have plenty of ?...

Hey Crystal. Stay plugged in...you'll get this board figured out, just keep clicking on all the different buttons, going different places, it comes together and you will be able to get the most out of this great support system! I just drank Boost High Protien formula. It doesn't have as much as some of the more expensive Protien drinks, but they did the trick post-surgery. You really only need the Protien drinks for your post-op time so you can get good nutrition in past that healing band. Once you are healed you shoud do the opposite and avoid the liquid calories, and get your nutrition from good yummy healthy foods. I keep a stash of Boost in the cupboard in case I need to do a Meal Replacement for any reason: I PB'd and need to stay on liquids for a day, or I'm in a rush and don't have time to careflully eat, or I just got a fill and need to stick to liquids...that kind of thing. I also drink Egg Drop Soup during those times since it's full of protien and yummy and filling. One more thing: your target goal. Upper left on the Blue Bar. Click User CP, click Edit Signature. If you type in your target goals there, click save changes, it will show up on all of your posts. Otherwise you have to retype it every time. :hat: Good luck!

    General warning for women

Wow, a 4 pound cyst?! Holy Moly! So glad you are on the mend. It's always a good idea to check with other bandsters. This board is so wonderful about that. Watch out for the Ibuprophen, if it sits on your band it can irritate and cause big band problems. Especially the big pills...switch to liquid Ibuprophen if you have to take it, then be sure to wash it through well with lots of Water. And only short term. (((hugs))) and a speedy recovery!

    Controlled diet plan

It's a great idea. I got out my Richard Simmons FoodMover and started clicking off my food. It kept me on track with getting everything in and avoiding the "too many carbs, not enough protien and veggies" habit I tend to get into. I slid the 1200 calorie card in the slot and had a few windows leftover at the end, 2-3 days in a row! So I thought, "hmmm, maybe I'll turn the card over and do the 1000 calorie Blast Off week" since it was so easy and I had windows still open. So I pulled out the card, and it was already on the Blast off week! My band makes it super easy to follow a plan, any plan! as long as I have one. Okay, I have talked myself into getting out my FoodMover again...thanks for the kick in the butt! :hat:

    Swelling/Water Weight Gain after Surgery?

My Dad just had surgery (Feb 20) and gained a ton of water weight from the IVs. His surgery was long (he had a Warthins tumor removed from his Parotid gland in his neck-benign) and he peed forEVER for days getting all the fluid out. So, yeah, it sounds normal to me. Hang on a few more days and give your body some time. When it doesn't need the hydration so much it will let it go. Drink your water! :hat:

190.0 this morning. Huh? Oh well, must be building that good strong muscle at Curves this week! Up and down and up and down. Story of my life. What's that? +4 this week? +2 total? I won't care if my body fat % is going down. I'll find out in a few weeks at my Curves weigh in. Happy weight loss everyone! 242/223/188/190/+2

Tammy, I PM'd you. Top right box, click Private Messages link. Good luck! Oh, did your doc say you can have protien drinks at this stage? That will help, too.

    3 months gone

Well done Joe! You should be so proud of yourself! My hubby likes your bike. And your name. (he's Joe, too) He said "Awright!" when I read your stats, so he's proud, too!

    can you feel it?

No question is stupid. It's probably your port. Is the hard spot near your largest incision? Some folks have their ports in the center below the breastbone, and it sounds like that might be where your doc placed yours? I can't feel my band, just the effects of it. I CAN feel my port, hard and smooth and round below the skin above and left of my belly button...right at the waist, really. When the swelling goes down more, you might be able to feel it better.

    Hidee from Tennessee

I had to say Hidee back because it reminded me of my grandmother from Bristol VA/TN who said Hidee! and How do?! and Well Law! all the time. Thanks for making me think of her! And welcome to LBT!!!

    The Gone for Good Club

So I had to go back and look... Old Mantras... Positive reinforcement mantras: I cannot continue to eat unhealthy and expect to lose weight. I cannot continue to not exercise and expect to lose weight. I cannot continue to buy pills, buy exercise equip, etc then not use them and expect to lose weight. I cannot continue to feel sorry for myself because I do not have the band anymore. __________________ New Mantras... I will continue to eat healthy and hope to lose weight. I will continue to exercise and hope to lose weight. I will continue to be proud of myself with all the accomplishments to date. Yep, I'd say that's better!!! Good catch.

    pix from hubble slide show

Darn Dail-up. I'm sending the link to my Dad though. He's an amateur astronomer with lots of neat telescopes. It's nice to star-gaze with him. He knows all these little interesting facts about the stars...things like, "that's a cluster made of 5 billion stars in a galaxy that's 2 million light years away" or whatever. Neat! When the kids go to bed, I'll patiently wait for the slideshow to load...tick tock tick tock Thanks Crystal!
  23. Maybe someone here on LBT would be willing to give you a lift? Beats a cab driver, that's for sure! Take only what you need, which isn't much. The staff will keep a good eye on your personal items. How far are you from the hospital?

    NC March Chat

Dear God in Heaven, as you look down on us now, I know you must be laughing. We are flooping hooters all over the front yard, moving our homes, fighting the flu, taking care of sick kids, we have the Hives so we walk around scratching our butts and other unmentionable places, we are in a FUNK, we are quitting jobs and starting new ones, we are praying way too hard for patience so you are showing us just how much we really have (and we really only needed a short lesson on that one, right, Karen?), and we are flipping ports, PBing, and Hot Flashing. Lord, the list goes on and on. Oh Lord, help us here in our little group of friends. Thank you for bringing us together so at least we can share our misery with one another. Thank you the laughter in the face of it all. I know it will all be okay!!! But I think we need a little extra dose of blessing these days. Amen. :amen:

    Scary PB

Always take it easy after a fill and move through the food stages just like post-op. Liquids for a day, soft mushies, fuller mushies, etc till you get to eating whatever. It's hard to say if you have done damage. What you need to do right now is stay on liquids for a bit. You probably have swelling and that needs to subside before you know for sure if this fill is too tight. Drink slowly, sip sip sip. If you have pain in your chest after drinking, your body/band is telling you to slow down. Get out those Protien drinks and start sipping. Let us know how it goes!
