    What is the outcome?

Just so you know, Bobby, RNY can be done laporoscipically also. But the healing period is longer and more delicate. You are smart to look into banding as your first option, just don't feel as though you have to rule out RNY definately. I'm not pushing either surgery, just informing.

Back on page 1 or 2 Lisa (DeLarla) and VQ were discussing paint colors in her house. VQ is going to paint when she goes back to Vegas, I think. They are scheming something that includes paint color, anyway. That's a good example of the need for the handy dandy quote funtion, IMO.

Lisa/lmt, it's not that we have necessarily met. Most of us LBTers are simply online friends. The board is divided into Forums, and the Off Topic subjects are generally discussed in the Lounge. It's a free-for-all in there. So tip-toe! LOL Keep chiming in. There is no "inside" crowd here and all are free to speak up. I have learned the hard way, though, be ready to take it on the chin at times (talking to self as I type...) You have well over 100 posts at this point, you are in the game now!

My opinion: Someone started a new "Scar Stages" Thread. I am fully against ressurecting the one Nana started. She created it, she deleted it. I only suggested that K@t find it so Christina (I'll Succeed) could grab hold of her lost pics. K@t, maybe you can edit out the links and PM them to I'll Succeed? Or if she can't get them anyway, just take out the links. I would hate to see someone re-post that thread. If she deleted it, it should be gone. I understand it's never really gone, but you know what I mean. Gone from LBT land. I still had my scar pic on my 'puter so I re-posted to the new Scar Stages thread. I'm the one who asked if K@t would go get it, but only because Christina lost her pics.

Hey Bobby, check us out in the NC Forum. We have a pretty active Charlotte group. The needle goes through the skin, into the port, and the saline goes through tubing into the band. Easy cheesy. I love my band. do lots and lots of research to be sure banded life is for you. Be a very knowledgable patient! You came to the right place. Happy researching and welcome to LBT!

    Overdue FUN THREAD!!!

Just My Size White Satin bra size 38D (or is it 40?) Jockey High Cut Brief size 8 in Black. Nuttin' fancy, same ole thing.
  7. hmmm, some of my info is below in my sig. I work out at Curves 3 days a week. I try to walk for 1/2 hour 2 other days. I eat whatever, just less. Yogurt, banana, Lean Cuisine, CIB, salad, whatever for dinner. If I were more attentive I'l lose faster, but I'm a Mom with young kids and I'm enjoying life. I go on kicks where I'm driven to lose and do well, then slack off and maintain. Then struggle to maintain, then get hard on myself again. It's a wonder I have lost anything since the initial 15 pounds post-surgery. I love my band though. It helps me so much!

    is someone deleteing large threads?

Yes, I suppose I do. Or maybe I just feel a sense of ownership for each of our words, posts and threads. Those of mine and of others. I'm not sure why, except out of some sense of responsibility, self-repsect, and a personal mission to respect others, even when I disagree? Who knows why. I'm not responsible for what others post on a thread I start, or how they may reply to a post of mine, but I do "own" my own words. And if you post on my thread, there is a certain respect I feel the need to give you, by preserving your words. And it's egg on my face if I post on a thread that gets impulsively deleted. Oh well. And then there's the matter of "the reason police". It doesn't matter why someone deleted, it was their thread to delete. My guess is many many folks will hold back on future threads started by those known to delete. And that is how it should be. There's nothing wrong with "the system" or "the rules" or "the policy & procedure" by which LBT is Moderated. It's that people are shocked/surprised/hurt/confused or whatever by the actions of others. Nothing needs to be fixed. We just broadened our understanding, that's all. Hey, k@t, how'd you like to dig up the Scar thread started by ~nana~ so Christina can get her pics back? Could you really do that? Of course you CAN, but would you?!

    taking a break from LBT--pointless

Excellent advice. I hate to see you beat yourself up and I totally understand your frustration. Please please please keep us posted on your trip to OSHU (is that right?) and your Cushings diagnosis/treatment...whatever happens! Lots of people love and care about you, Crystal. We need to know how you are. Back burner the band, but don't give up. You band will wait while you figure out what's going on. Do what you need to do to take care, and I totally support you. Sometimes I just don't know what to do/not do to help. Just know I send love and hugs and prayers for answers for you. Please don't go far.

That's what happened, people made themselves dissappear. They went and deleted everything, all of it, not related to hot debates, not related to anything, it's just *poof* gone. Don't get me wrong...I don't care for this practice at all, but I support that it's available. As a poster I should have that option. As a grown-up, I don't use it.

    is someone deleteing large threads?

I have a pic or two...I'll post if you'll promise not to delete the thread! LOL I guess if someone quotes you, you are at their mercy and need to ask that person to delete the post, or at least the quote part of it, or ask a moderator to do so? StrawartS, what's interesting was I was able to edit AND type within your quote, so I could quote you, retype anything you said, and post it as if I quoted you. hmmmmm, not that I WOULD, but who would be the wiser if you deleted your own quote? There'd be nothing to compare it to.

    Side Pain that is puzzeling?!?

Stacey, is it on your port side? I know my port side gets sore with exercise, etc, but it's not a stabbing pain or a side cramps pain, it's just a soreness. What about gall baldder?

I SHOULD have stock in it! I found myself recommending it about 5 times in two days, so I added it to my sig, and got another 5 PMs about it, plus more posts along the way so now I'm the Aloe Vera Junkie Queen! And, yeah, my posts are all over the forum...I just can't help myself, someone stop me! I can't quit posting! Heeelllp! LOL Glad you got your juice, you are good to go! Happy Banding Monday! Sheryl, I usually get tighter with AF. Happens alot, perfectly normal.

    is someone deleteing large threads?

Don't worry, it HAS happened before...lots! Kelly has done it a couple of times now, and DeLarla did it with Hurricane Katrina threads that got alot of traffic. She has a reputation for deleting stuff, hence, "doing a DeLarla", which is deleting posts and threads. We tease her cuz we love her so much and she HAS been totally STELLAR with holding back on hitting the delete key lately. Last year there was a mass exodus surrounding lots of drama and several people deleted threads and posts all over the board. Tons of stuff was gone. I totally respect the right for any person to make themself dissappear, and everyone else's posts with it, including quotes. It's the right thing. Posters on other people's threads need to know it's a risk. If you don't like the possibility that a thread might get deleted, start your own thread. Then YOU get to decide if it stays. I say leave it like it is. I spent lots of time posting on DeLarla's Katrina threads. It was an emotional and passionate subject for many. I was mad when it got missing. But I learned a lesson, too...be careful where you post. AND I learned that the world did NOT end when my hard work went to the recycle bin, or Cyber Hell, whatever. Like I said, if it's an important link, or has lots of great info, save a copy in your LBT journal or on your hard drive. I think I fall into a category of agreement with StrawartS, Photonut, and a few others. Leave it be. I'm a big girl and know how to learn.

    Bad Mid Back Pain

No bueno man! I don't like that. Stick to liquids for now, and give it some time. I wouldn't think mashed 'taters would do it. Gravy? How thick? Full liquids for now and see how it goes. Let us know how the pain is in a few hours. I'll check back in after church tonight. ((((hugs))) Leener. You aren't broken, just slow to heal, and very in tune with your body, which is really a good thing. Which reminds me to say to you...follow your gut about something being wrong. Don't just listen to us out here in cyberland. Call your doc., 'kay?

Wal Mart or most drug stores. It's in the tummy meds section (Tums, etc.) in a gallon container. Refrigerate after opening. Not very yummy, but very healing from top to bottom. I wouldn't be without it now. Good stuff. Good luck and keep us posted!

    Bad Mid Back Pain

Smart doc! Yay! It may not be that you aren't chewing well enough, or are eating too fast, it may just be that your band isn't ready yet. You know you are having a slow start, so listen to your band. Log your food on FitDay or something, so you know what your nutrition looks like and you aren't over-eating (you may be surprised! how little or how much!) and that way you can keep losing. But you are right, you WILL be less hungry on the solids. It's obviously hard on your band, so take it easy. See what a good bandster you are?! Keep healing. You have made wonderful progress, just keep up the good work!

    is someone deleteing large threads?

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=17250&highlight=jump+in+here Here it is. The thread-starter always has the right to delete the entire thread on a whim. Know this when you pour your heart and soul into a post, type for hours, get up, do dishes, go back and type some more, spend the afternoon pondering, and finally click "submit". If what you wrote means that much to you, copy and save into your hard drive. It very well could NOT mean that much to the thread starter and is always at risk of being impulsively deleted. I have lost plenty of posts this way, and as much as I hate it, if I didn't start it, it's not up to me. I want the opportunity to make my thread dissappear if I'm so inclined. What I'd more like do is edit, though. That's me. That's MY thread. I ALMOST put some heart and soul into the DaVinci thread and now I'm glad I didn't. Kellie (God knows I love her to pieces) has deleted threads before and so I know it's always a risk when I post on hers. Why waste time thinking about it, carefully sorting out thoughts, when *poof* one day it's gone? I already take time away from my home and family posting on LBT. All of our thoughts are valuable, and we don't even have to agree. So, post with care people. Copy to your hard drive or into your LBT journal if your well-thought-out writings are worth remebering. They may not be worth remembering to someone else.

    Bad Mid Back Pain

Okay, Leener, you just might be getting too big for your britches, young lady. You are eating well, thinking about a fill....slow down. You were so tight you need to NOT compare yourself to all these folks who say things like, "Two weeks post-op and I'm STARVING!" or "Oh no, I was so hungry I ate pizza 5 days post-op" or "I wonder if my band is even there, I can eat ANYthing!" or "I ate a whole hamburger, bun and all, plus some french fries! What's up with that?!" You are not them (or is it "they"?). The mid-back pain related to eating, being on solids, after a full day of eating, goes away at night...it all sounds very band related. Maybe make your diet mostly full mushies, with only occasional solids, for a few days, and don't even think about a fill until you are able to eat "normally" with no discomfort. You will feel like you need a fill when you are eating mushies, so it's good to move to solids, but in this case, your body is telling you it's hard for your band. Listen carefully and try to be patient!!!! You really are doing great. You are a wonderful bandster!!!!!!

Gone for Good Club - April 2006

It's the cut. I went shopping last night and bought 2 pair of pants, 2 dressy shirts to go with, and 3 t-shirts that actually fit in pretty colors. Perfect for running around. So, I went to Dress Barn Woman first, and found the pants. They are both 16W's. The 18's at that store were falling off! Yay! But then I went to Kohls and tried on jeans and the 20's fit. Huh? And they didn't fit well, either. My shape is just no good for jeans. I'm big in my butt and legs, and it's just hard to get all that heavy denim up and over it all. Plus my saggy yucky belly...ewww. And I went for boot cut, too. I imagined myself there with Stacey and Clinton telling me to get the right fit, screw the sizes! It was kind of fun. So now I need shoes for my dressy pants. I want a little pointy toed low heel dealio. Rack Room Shoes, here I come! So I think with my butt/thighs issues, I will always be in a Woman's size, but they go down to a 14 at Dress Barn so that's good. After my tummy tuck, I wonder what will fit? After shopping last night, I actually had hope of getting into a 14 again. Dare I hope to dream of a size 12? Not without the TT, but perhaps it's possible?! Come on band...let's get to work!!!! I'm up for the challenge. Can't wait to see the "rules". I like that we are personalizing the rules (aren't we?) so we can make it just right for each of us! Great losing everyone!
