    vomiting after eating

flower, stop the cycle by switching to liquids for 24 hours, then spend a few days on soft foods. I'd also recommend aloe vera juice, 2-3 ounces 2-3 times a day at least to help heal any swollen tissues around your band. At that point you need to evaluate whether or not you need a small unfill. If doing the above doesn't solve your problems, then you need an unfill. If you are able to get "back to normal", then you need to re-learn your restriction level and work with it. Start logging your food for a few days. I'll confess, I have PB'd food, waited 10-20 min and then gone back and finished my meal. It's not good practice, since a PB (or vomit) is NOT good for my band. flower, you need to slow down and really listen to your band and body. You probably don't need an unfill...you just need to do some behavior modification. I know...I see myself in your post! Be encouraged! You can do this! Go back to Bandster Eating 101.

    Its July

Dianne, I swear you look 150...not 200! No way I weigh less than you!!!!!! It's hard not to watch the scale when you are pressing toward Onederland. Hang in there. You'll see it one day, then not the next, then again, and soon you'll be watching the scale to see when you stop being over 200 at night, then you are REALLY below 200...it's REALLY hard not to be a scale junkie at this stage of the game. Just be nice to yourself, kay? Jen, it's HOT. Yuck. Wavy, I hope Melissa pops in soon...I have no idea about the EAS. If you MUST do Mocha, I'd get a Starbucks Mocha Frap in the bottle. They sell them cold in the grocery stores...high sugar, no protien, junk. But Mocha and good ole CAFFIENNE!!!!!! Yeah Baby! Hey Tammy!

Amy you are doing a great job with the July GFG Thread! Now you get to see first-hand all the hard work P'nut has been doing, right?! LOL I'm sure she is appreciating the break this month! I know I would be! And I have been making it very easy on both of you, with no real loss (or gain...whew!) to report. I'll try not to do that much longer. And your pics show a wonderful loss. Many compliments are on the way...no worries. You ROCK!

Yvonne, I usually leave my sig in the first post of any thread, then turn it off for any subsequent posts, if there are any. That way, if someone wants to see my stats, they can stay on that thread and look, rather than searching all over the board or clicking around. I also leave it if I'm posting about something where my stats would be of interest or pertinent, no matter where in a thread. P'nut made me aware of these techniques and they are pretty handy! So, stats on your first post are GREAT in my book! And, just so you know, you ARE able to edit your own post. Just click Edit (it shows up on YOUR posts, not others) and uncheck the "show sig" box, then save changes. But! leave your stats on your first post here! It's a good practice! Welcome to 'da club!

  7. Hey Lyn! Welcome to LBT! You are NOT too old. We have lots of bandsters here your age and older, so no fretting about that! I have BCBS of NC, too and self-payed. Bummer, but I'm sooooo happy with my band! My loss has been slow but I'm getting there! So glad to have you. Waynesville is beautiful mountain country...I love it there! I knew a guy named Bosco that lived there. Yup, that was his real name. I hope I spelled it right! Anyhow, welcome and keep us posted!

    reflux issues

Okay, so you know I have to suggest Aloe Vera juice. And don't drink anything for several hours before bedtime. Also, switch from Tums, etc to an Acid Reducer such as Prilosec or Zantac or Pepcid AC (there's a chewable available in Pepcid AC) and see if that helps. Definately, a small unfill will help. Keep us posted!

    Hello everybody !!!!!!

OMGosh I LOVE your screen name! Yummmmmmmm! Good for you for supporting your sister! Read alot and take notes...make sure she's as prepared as possible for banded life. And, once she's banded, let this be her journey. Everyone does it differently (mentally) so don't be her "Food Police", let her practice and just love her and encourage her. You are a great Sis! And don't tempt her with Krispy Kremes? LOL Yummmmmmm!

    The band made me brave!

Yup, now I want the veins in my legs zapped, and my teeth straightened (they gets worse the older I get) and my Tummy Tuck, of course. That's about all I'm willing to do except buy new clothes! I don't know about having more courage since being banded...it's just that now I CARE more. Feels good. How's the LASIK working for you? Are you happy with the results?

Yeah, I'd hate to see my pics all over the tv and in the magazines...and have people comment about my looks! We should be nice, I guess. I don't guess...I know! LOL I'm just amazed at how many people don't care for Rosie. That really surprises me!

    New diet i found

Wild, Funny's "apron" is extra skin and fat hanging down like an apron. Lots of us have one, in various shapes and sizes. She was initially to have that extra skin and fat removed prior to her banding, but her docs want her to be banded first. (I'm answering for Funny because I know she's on vacation for a bit...hope you don't mind Amy!) Anyhow, most folks lose weight first, then have a Panniculectomy (sp?) or a Tummy Tuck, whichever is in order. "Panni" or "Apron" removal is simply removing extra skin and fat that won't go away with weight loss, and a Tummy Tuck is more cosmetic, and usually includes tightening the ab muscles. I hope that very simple explanantion helps. Welcome to LBT!

    Jokes Thread

How to Tell the Sex of a Fly A woman walked into the kitchen to find her husband stalking around with a fly swatter. "What are you doing?" She asked. "Hunting Flies" He responded. "Oh. Killing any?" She asked. "Yep, 3 males, 2 Females," he replied. Intrigued, she asked. "How can you tell?" He responded, "3 were on a beer can, 2 were on the phone."

    Slip Sliding Away-Maybe

Awwww, man! Please keep us updated. It sounds like (due to your lack of symptoms since your unfill) all is well, but I know folks who have slipped run into trouble when they fill again...go easy on your band. You have done so well! Here's hoping all is well!

    Severe Pain! Please help!

Missie, h-pylori is cured with a round of antibiotics. The problem with having it and being banded is it can cause ulcers. Not good with a band. Get treated quickly, and until then, stick to a liquid/soft diet, and get you some Aloe Vera juice. Available at Wal-Mart and drug stores, with the tummy meds (like Tums) in a gallon container. Also available in berry-flavored. Drink as much as you can...2-3 ounces several times a day and at bedtime, or more! It's very healing. Have you been tested for h-pylori? Call your PCP if your lapband doc is out. Go today!!!
