    Considering this procedure

There is another thread on here titled "Any Regrets?" and one after another, no, no, no, only wish I had it done sooner, only wish it were available a long time ago, etc, etc. This is what convinced my husband...throughout all of DeLarla's port problems and the difficulties of others, not one person regrets it. I'm sure they are out there somewhere, but they are probably not working the band program like folks here are working it. I can't wait to get mine.

    Goodbye

Penni, I found Bigchixrule's post under introductions and replied, bumping it up. I'm not banded yet and gave advice that needs checking by a pro, you or anyone please see "whasup with..." something or other (sorry, I forgot the title) and check my advice and maybe we can help her. Choking on beans doesn't sound good...and we can keep beans advice out of Whipple's goodbye, since this thread has not been hijacked at all for 3 pages....(laugh with me)

    Is there anything sticking out?

yes, you know how you can take insulin out of the bottle with the syringe? You poke the neeedle through the flat spongy area in the top of the bottle to get the medicine out and into the needle. You have poked a hole in the top of the bottle but it doesn't leak because, well, it just doesn't. The port, while I I haven't seen one in real life, seems to work the same way, that little disk is under your skin somewhere near your Band, the doctor can feel it there and puts a needle through your skin and into the port to fill or unfill the band. Then takes the needle out and it doesn't leak. The wonders of modern medicine!

my very odd sense of humor...

I got Rickets, too. What's up with the "come in fear, facist pigs?" at the top? I knew that Old English class I took would come in handy someday. My translation may not be entirely correct, but honestly, I got a little nervous and was afraid to surf around in there! Heebie Jeebies, but cool test!

    East Coast Bandster Bash???

Oooohh, East Coast here! North Carolina has an Atlantic coastline! The DC area would be a better drive for me, if it's easy for everyone else. Much further North and I get in another time zone or something, the Mason Dixon line gets too far away! Just kidding...I love the Northeast, but with 2 young ones at home...well, the quicker the trip the better for me. I'll do the best I can with whatever plans get made, so throw the ideas in the pot everyone! Oh, as long as it's weekend, time doesn't matter as much, but fall is better. Oh no, I'm supposed to go get a job this fall to pay for this Lap Band...maybe I can put that off till Spring? (won't hurt my feelings a bit! hehe)

    Cross Your fingers-please

How did I miss it? You have a name! Christina! It's my sister's name and my daughter's middle name. No wonder I like you! Prayers for good news soon...and don't delete, just keep posting here. Those of us who responded will get an e-mail with your update, so we won't miss it, then we'll respond and bump it up to the New Posts menu, and everyone will see it!!! This system works! Looking for news soon....
  8. I know several here have seen Dr Rod, do a search on Dr. Rodriguez also, you'll find good info and people to e-mail or PM. Better yet, they may pop up here!

    Deleting our posts

Just to clarify, I agree with Penni, I feel that a post or thread that is un-deleted should only be done so at the request of the writer. In Kelly's tanning thread example above, she could have PM'd Paula, said, "hey! what's up with that! I need that info! Get it back! please" (because we are always nice and kind here and use our good manners) then Paula would contact a moderator about un-deleting. Otherwise, it stays deleted.

Most love your passion and candor, DeLarla. You know best whether or not to edit...just like GeezerSue, she is a debator, and loves to argue, sometimes just for the point of it, nothing personal, and most understand and respect that. Everyone has something great to offer. Our personalities are different and we ALL have strengths and weaknesses. I hope we continue to honor that here on LBT. I will try to, even if using my delete button is needed.

    Anyone else snowbound?

Wow, and I'm complaning becasue it was cold and rainy yesterday and this morning it's a nippy 35F and will only get up to just below 50F today. I'm ready for Spring, but I'll shut up now, since I do not envy your snow, at least not in March! So, you'll be on LBT for days, then?

    Help

Nykee, that sounds more in line with the advice I am hearing from banded veterans here. The liquid/mushy stage is NOT about weight loss, it's about allowing your body the time to heal without eating things that require your stomach to churn alot...thus allowing your band to anchor properly witin your body. This helps prevent slippage down the road. Tracie, I have heard of Drs passing out the same old gastric bypass meal plans to their Lap Band patients, and no, this is not a good practice. They are both very different procedures. Several on the board here see Dr Spivak in Houston, it doesn't seem like he would be one to pass out GP menus, but fish and soft veggies on day 4? Hmmm, if chewed REALLY well...I, personally would hesitate, even if my Dr said OK. Your weight loss, however, is awesome! Well done! Good luck, girls! I can't wait to see the success you are having for myself, you are inspiring!

Gotcha, that was a good thread, I'm glad it's still in here...no airbrush tanning for me. Paste-y White doesn't go well with Orange. Still, couldn't the writer re-post or un-delete a thread? At least with the help of a moderator?

Can Paula get it back? Can a moderator? I'll bet Marie will help you...okay, that sounds smart-assed but it was meant to be funny based on all the other stuff going on and I love Marie... Seems like Paula had a DeLarla moment, she confesses to do that alot...get a good thread going and then think it's dumb and delete it...but I love her too and want her and all of us to have the ability to delete posts and threads we start. People re-think things, God knows I do...I want the ability to delete and edit. Here's an idea...if you see something handy, save the page or post in your document file in your computer, that way you can get it whenever, AND have evidence of edited/deleted posts for the next go-round... please get the humor, trying to be funny in difficult times...I need to start a thread about a dream I had about Penny60...

    Wow! Must be fate.......

40 is hitting me hard, and I'm not even 40 yet! (will be in May) so I know how you feel. Good for you! I'm happy your insurance paperwork went through fine this time. Wow! 5 working days! Good for you!

    Need help ............

first, there's the URL (I guess that's what it's called) then below that, there are three choices you can use on message boards, pick the first one, highlight it, copy or cut, then paste onto your signature (under edit signature in your user cp) then post something here and test it, it should pop up...should being the operative word. I had to delete out some letters that were a part of the "code" after it popped up, just clean it up if needed. Hope it works!

    Check out my hole

Okay, ANOTHER question (this is very interesting!) Is that how long the tubing is from your band to your port? Or is that just a section of it? There is nothing to reference the size in the pic, just wondering how long is that piece of tubing? Glad your'e home and getting better!

Does your HUSBAND/ WIFE know your weight????

"as if he couldn't tell" !!!! Ya, not much hiding it, my DH is 5'10" 170lbs. I am 5'5" and 220. I have never weighed less than him, even on our wedding day when I took diet pills my sister-in-law gave me and got down to 168, He weighed 165. Humph. He knows, I've been talking about it too much lately. My big mouth is apparently more important to me than my privacy, but that's nothing new. hehehe
