    Anxiety attack!!!!

Oh, Hopefull, my soon to be avatar buddy when I get my pretty wreath back after banding, don't have an anxiety attack! Grazing will become MUCH easier to avoid when you are on full solids and eating your hard proteins first with your meals. Post Banding is a whole new world...this is good and bad, and we need to do lots of preparing but nothing will prepare us like actually living it. You will be a great success! You will have weeks of liquid diet post banding, and possibly just before your band surgery, so definatley dont' sweat it now. Eat well, choose better, the changes will come soon enough. You can do this! With or without the ability to follow a liquid diet before you ever even HAVE to.

    May Surgery Dates

Yay Debbydo!!! I am SO glad you are doing this for May. I can promise you that May folks will absolutely CRAWL out of the woodworks like ants from a woodshed. April started with me and TrshS, and now look at it! Folks from May will not automatically come here (well, maybe for you but they didn't for me in April) so you have to hunt them down and post them anyway. When you see a surgery date mentioned in another thread, tell them they are on this list and put them down. I recommend One post (like your #1) where all the names go. It's alot of fun, actually, and very therapeutic to see people go and come back banded. Also, if I could go back and change April's I would add their Dr to the list too (like you did on your name) I thinks it's helpful for researchers. Good job! Keep bumping it to the top once or twice a week or so. Happy May Banding everyone!

    Burping and Dating

Okay Bandit, I'm posting on your thread cuz I like you so much, but I'm married and getting banded this week, so not much feedback here. However, I know that you have just GOT to be as cute as a button with so much personality that banding and dating will just go together like PB&J! If you are not telling your family, then you will probably not feel comfortable telling a first date, and I wouldn't. I would definately give an excuse though, following a strict diet, only easily chewable foods in small quantities, etc. then just stop talking about it! The more of an issue you make it the worse. You have a different scenario if you are more intimate than dinner on a first date, and, honestly, let's hope first date, dinner, intimacy, don't all go together on one night!...or I'll have to wag my finger at you for giving it away too easy! I think your heart will tell you when it's right to tell. But if this guy is that special, it will be easy. All the others, save your energy, in more ways than one. Know what I mean? If he's scared away by belly noises, he's not the one for you!

    Sex????

You go Amber! It seems like you just went in to surgery and here it is time for sex already!! Oh, you DID just...go in...to...surgery, WHAT?! Just kidding. Have a blast, glad to see you are recovering well!!!
  6. Good job, Vivian. Get that local aftercare lined up BEFORE you go. I'm not sure about your area, but just wanted to say Hi and keep up the good work...MS will pop in here, don't worry.
  7. You and Me Chris! See you Thursday!
  8. Dr. Eduardo Gonzalas at the Surgical Weight Loss Center in Winston-Salem. Phone number is (336) 784-8299. I called and let them know I was seeing Dr Kuri and I would need fills, no problem! In-office fills with no flouro are $200. With flouro it's $300 plus 250-300 additional for hospital lab fees. He wants OR papers and any X-rays from Kuri, which should be no problem. Yay!

    FLYLadies, step forward!

That's about what it costs here, and worth every penny. That's great bargaining! Way to go, SpudMOM! Okay, Marie says it wasn't her, so off to Searching I go...I KNOW I read it here. Searched and cannot find, but it might be Donali, she said something about Flylady in a post, but it wasn't the one I read. I has to be Donali.

    FLYLadies, step forward!

I stopped the emails from coming all day everyday and the next day, I missed them! So I started it back and if I have a yucky attitude and don't care or don't have time, I hit the delete button but fast!!! But I can see that it's helping and ordered the control journal. LBT keeps me too busy on the puter already, so having it on paper will help lots. I find that reading the email once or twice, all you have to do is see the header to know what it says and it's on your mind...I just have do dump the deleted messages bin alot more often. I want a Maid Service SO bad!!! I can't justify it though, but I will when it's time to go back to work! Now THAT will be budgeted for every other week.

    FLYLadies, step forward!

Sorry for the confusion...my site address didn't highlight, but again, Jenna saves my day. How did I manage to get you to cover my biga$$ backside AND rescue my jade plant? You really are a Dream!! Okay, thinking I need a Disclaimer: This is Off Topic and in the Lounge, so it doesn't have anything to do with the Lap Band. And I'm not soliciting the site, other than recommending it if you are interested, and just wondered if there are any other of you that do this FLYLady thing. I just joined and I'm getting lots of motivation and ideas (nothing new, just said differently, really) for managing my home and not getting overwhelmed by it/my thinking. If you are a FLYLady, you'll know it. If not, check it out and let me know what you think. I don't care if you hate it. If you aren't interested, don't go. BIG SMILE! My oven is cleaning, I wiped down the screen from the French Door to the deck (ew, gross!) and my stove top is cleaned, including the knobs. WOW! And my laundry is done and folded but not put away, and my sink is no longer shining, oh well. I really do love my "job" as a stay-at-home mom. Little man fell asleep in his little feeding chair on the floor in front of the TV with a stinky diaper. He slept through the diaper change and is napping...sweet boy.

    Just banded and miserable

I have heard warm liquids, too. Go search Jonathan's threads...he had the same problem, if you can stand sitting in front of the puter long enough to search...want me to bump it? Okay...bumping Jonathan stuff for you...

    Acne

I have Rosacea, which gives me problems when I eat or drink certain things. For me, too much dairy or alcohol (liquor) makes my cheeks (by my nose) kind of swell and get puffy and red, as if I am flushed. Acne is associated. I have a topical antibiotic gel which helps alot to reduce redness and breakouts. But some of my acne is just that, acne. Not sure about post-banding, but I'd bet it's diet related, since that's the big thing that has changed. Maybe Google rosacea and see if that's you? Your dermatologist will help.

    Your "last" meal...

Just in time for me!! I have been eating last meals for 2 weeks now. Thank GOD Above I don't have a 2 week liquid diet pre-surgery! However, it has really been anti-climactic. The Gyro was yummy but not near as delicious as I had hoped, the really fattening egg/sausage/gravy/hashbrown bowl with biscuits was less than wonderful, and on and on. I think the main thing I will miss is the shoveling. Large bites. Mouth FULL of yummy food. I'ts not so much the food, but the feeding. It will be quite an experience "feeding" post-band. Thanks for the perspective. As in your other post (magic wand?) having the info and actually living it are two different things. I can be as intellectually prepared, but have to live it to really know. These posts will be SO hlepful to read later on. Thanks Jonathan!
  20. Hey Danny! From what I have "gleaned" from other posts, United Health Care is paying for more Bands than BC/BS...just an intuition...not based on fact at all. If you know the plan numbers, you can usually go online for coverage information. The CDT code for Lap Band is 43843. Good Luck!

Kathy, Best Me - Its getting CLOSE...

Yippee!!!! Thanks ya'll! I am finally getting excited again. I have been keeping my "Kathy's 10 day contdown" thread going with lots of sometimes amusing journalings and lists, etc...I am surprised how much writing it down for the "world" to see has helped! I am also distracted by trying to keep up with all of our April Bandsters...even if it's just making sure we hear back from everyone after surgery...just one post is all I need to stay sane! It helps to see everyone go and come back banded! It's finally happening! I found Lap Band and LBT in January and was ready for surgery in February! But, no, my hubby wasn't. So I waited and the time really has flown by. April 8th is almost here!!!! Look for more journaling in the 10 day countdown thread...I feel deep thoughts coming together...watch out!

Anyone know of a fill doctor in NC

Winston is closer, besides, when I called Bauman about doing fills and aftercare, the nurse/whoever told me he was considering NOT taking patients from other Doctors. I didn't push it or pursue it with them and this was several months ago, so Bauman may very well take MX Bnadsters for fills. It's worth a call though. Concord is outside of Charlotte, but I-85 runs right through on the way to Raleigh, so it would be an easy trip on a good traffic day. <hijack> Hey bbheim, great wieght loss so far! Do you have local support groups with Bauman? Is everyone Lap Band or are you mixed in with the gastric bypass folks? I would love to hear how it's going, and there's another gal on here who is just starting with Bauman, I KNOW she would love to bend your ear, or have you bend hers! Bondgirl is her screen name. Welcome to LBT!
