Nope, not stupid. The eating just to eat is always more than that, and now is the time to discover it. After 80lbs gone (well done!) you have the luxury and the time to just manage your way through it. You have a band and good restriction, you can only go overboard by so far, so experience what you are feeling and learn from it. Are you testing the band to make sure it's really true? Maybe it's not even that deep. Maybe you just want to dadgum eat! Go with the flow. Allow your body and mind to rest at your current weight for a moment. Live here for just a minute. It's not going anywhere. Your band will wait for you.

AW man! Bummer! But you DID lose, so that's really great. I went ahead and spent $40 on a good digital at Target, it measure to the tenth of a pound and has been accurate so far, so I'm happy. I had a $10 scale and, well, what you said, but it didn't trick me into believing I had lost all kinds of weight! I might have kept it! lol Hey, I like your new picture avatar...yer a handsome dude!

You crack me up Bandit, singing Mexican! I am counting on coming back like everyone else, and it's so good to see everyone go and come back, and go and come back. I was told, too, that Kuri reports NO deaths or SERIOUS complications, I guess that means during surgery. I also know this is Mexico and may or may not be true. Who knows for sure? Do you think he'd tell? Maybe not. On the other hand, I have read enough here to know that the likelyhood of there being a problem for me is fairly small, based on his experience as a band surgeon and the reports of happy bandsters that went to Kuri. I feel certain that if there was a real risk of Kuri being a dishonest schmo or a poor band surgeon, SOMETHING would pop up on here at some point (other than DeLarla's poor port repair, which I do NOT dismiss as unimportant or irrelevant, because it IS important and relevant, BUT it was an infectious wound issue, not a band placement) SO, I think we are in good hands. I won't be able to stop being concerned until I leave Mexico a happily banded girl. I simply cannot WAIT to be relieved. I am more excited about being relieved that I didn't die than I am about actually being banded...which kind of spoils my excitement a little but...my hubby, my kids...you know. I hope this dumb ole thread helps someone in the future. I will post here when I return so that future readers will know the outcome. And know they aren't alone in their anxiety and fears. I just love all of you!

shake it Princess!!!! I'm so POOCHIN'! This is really surreal. Tomorrow is my last full day at home, so I will be busy preparing the last minute stuff. I have everything, just not in one place. My sister came over tonight and we verbally processed the trip, very helpful, and took our Before and After pics (she's not betting banded, but we got hers out of the way, just in case). I may get those posted before I go, if they turn out okay...I need to send them from my phone to the puter and see what they look like! I also got bare belly shots, ewwww. I am a Supervisor? Must be the Mom in me. Or my world isn't too big, now that I'm not working. I think when my world gets too big I lose my Supervisor skills and become more Nurturing. Seems odd. Like it should be the other way around.

Yep, they all know. Certainly my immediate family and my MIL (I told her today but she forgets stuff alot so I waited until if affected her, by me not being able to bring lunch and wash her hair this Thursday, my hubby is doing that for me, well he's taking her to the salon instead) and I told some folks at church. One lady called and left a message today saying she was thinking of me and will be praying for me while I'm gone and was just very encouraging, it meant alot. I told another lady I do a Bible Study with and maybe 3-4 others at church. Some of the moms from my daughters school know. One friend gave me a little guardian angel thingy, an ornament, I guess that is so cute and she sent it with a nice note saying she will be praying for a safe trip and surgery, and said I should pack my little guardian angel and take it with me to remember that I have friends at home praying for and thinking of me. So nice! Basically, if they NEED to know, I tell, or if it comes up, I tell and if it doesn't, well, I'm sure at some point they will come to know it. I don't announce it (except for that cashier at Wal-Mart where I bought 8 cans of fruit juices and other post-surgery foods) but I don't hide it either. It has been interesting the different reactions. My DH's sister-in-law is VERY concerned but supportive. My Mom doesn't say much, she still thinks I should be able to do this without surgery if I just used the self-control I have. (Easy way out?) My sister-in-law (brothers wife) is in line for the surgery!!! HER brothers wife is having her Band surgery Friday the 8th also, just found that out today. She's in the Dallas Texas area, but I don't know her Dr. So my SIL will wait for insurance issues to settle (due to changes) and if her insurance covers it, she's going. She won't pay cash and go to MX though, but that decision is not for everyone. So most folks are supportive, and I don't know if they just see that they have no say-so, and so they just support me, or if the are saying to themselves, "finally! she's going to do something about that weight!" Who Knows?! I keep remembering that my husband said, "if you go to Mexico and die, I'm gonna be really mad at you!" and so I hope I don't die, but I don't think I will. Maybe I'm just morbidly practical. I'm going to leave SOMEONE here with my phone number, who?, just in case I don't post Sat night or Sunday morning, then someone can call my hubby and get the scoop as to why. He has no clue how to post on a message board and would have no idea what to do, if it even occurred to him. See? Morbidly practical. I need to go do Scotty's personality test!

Anyone else do this? I'm pretty sure it was Marie-New Hope that linked me to FlyLady.net from here...I must say, it has been both aggravating and helpful. I ordered my Control Journal this morning, trying to get a handle on all the info.- trying to FLY! I really like this site. I'd love to see how others have used it. What's the best thing you have learned to do/handle from FlyLadies? I'm a FLYBaby, so I'm happy just to have my shoes on, sink shining, and I know where my laundry is. Trying to improve...how 'bout you?

Oh, man, gotta go do the test! I suspect I'm a nurturer...I'll let you know. This may have to wait till I get back...I'm having to pick and choose what I accomplish at this point, the countdown continues...Friday is the big day! Hey, way to go Scotty! Good job! You are so smart. See, we know all the "diet" secrets (increase the calories to jump start weight loss) and now you are actually able to follow it!!! You are a great Bandster! Although Cold Stone probably isn't what your after, sounds VERY yummy though!
