Okay, I have seen posts from mamadiggs, trooper, and Angiebell. Is anyone else back yet? Ya'll check in, now! -
Betty's right Mamdiggs, walking helps dissipate the gas. Maybe take a few trips to the mailbox during the day, or farther! And the heating pad under my neck and shoulders was very helpful. It took a while (week or two?) for the nagging shoulder/back/neck pain to go away. There was a surgical asst on here one day that said the shoulder pain may be referred pain from the band, since the doc has to disect the opening around the stomach to get the band in place. This made sense to me. It feels like the Pain is coming from the inside out, know what I mean? So hang in there. It does get better.

Maybe try posting and searching in the PA Forum? Go to Lap Band Talk Forum and scroll waaaaay down. Hope that helps.

Well done litn bug!! Way to go on your patience with the ins company! Wow...next week! Don't freak out yet. You will be sore, tired, but fine and needing to take small sips of Fluid the first day after. let the swelling go down in your stomach and you'll be on track for healing nicely! I needed a good week to quit feeling generally funky, but some folks get a burst of energy after a few days. I am approaching week 3 now...my belly is tender in the port area, but it doesn't hurt. My energy level is fine, and I have lost about 15 lbs! You'll do fine. Who's your doc? Where's your surgery? OH! Add your name to the May Bandsters list under the Support Forum...scroll down, it's there. Congratulations!!
-
Bottle-fed...had to think about that, it's a long way back to remember! kidding, my mom told me, duh.
-
We ROCK!!! I KNOW you are relieved, I'm anxoius for the hematologist report...see what they are doing with you next!! You might have to wait, but you will get it, right?! Yippee!! Thanks for the update! Keep it coming!

Some say it seems to make you a bit more restricted for a day or two, then goes away. Could be stress-related? Could be the cabin pressure, etc? No science backing that up that I know of, but folks have reported such things. Otherwise, no problems. you don't beep at the airport security thingy anyway. hehe!

Hey kelly! welcome to LBT! Do two things for me...first, put your name on the May Bandsters list. Look in the Support Forum, scroll down, and find "May 2005 Bandsters", click there and "new post" to the end of that thread. Then, you are on the list and we can all cheer you on! Second, write a note like you did here, but post it on a "new thread" at the top of the page in the Introduction Forum. You are SOOO close! but this is Violarn's thread, and we'll want to get to know you on your own. You'll just get lost in here and the only folks who will see you are the ones who visit violarn, which will be plenty but toot your own horn for me! You will find lots and lots of like minds in here (such as scared and nervous, etc). Just start reading and weeding through it all. You'll find your way around in no time. When all else fails, just post and ask for directions! So glad you are here!!
-
Woohoo!! Lookie there!

Whatever it takes for a healthy surgery, Chicagoboy! I had an EKG, but no stress test. With your history, better to get that done. Ain't nuthin but a thang! (isn't that a song from the 80's or something? Where did that come from? I never say that?!)
-
Yay Mamadiggs!!! So glad you are home safe, and thanks for posting with an update. Congratulations!!! You got banded!!! Toasted Bandsters can be dangerous, particularly when speaking a foreign language. Nice try! I'm sure you were excused for your behavior by the nurses! Very funny! And many others have fallen in love with their band docs. Dr Rod is used to it, I'm sure!!

Nope, new one for me and I'm in Charlotte. I'll follow this thread and see what you find out though! Post it here! Thanks!

A friend of mine had a baby girl a few months before my son was born, so she's 2 1/2 now. When baby Grace was born, they had to use some pretty good force to get her little shoulders out, and it didn't break a bone, but it did make her left arm slow to develop control (as much as a newborn has control!) for almost the first year. Something about a stretched muscle/tendon? Anything like that happen with your sister's baby? By the way, she is absolutely adorable!!! Looks healthy to me! My bet, she'll grow out of it, but keep a close eye out for her. Good to check with the pediatrician though. Could it be related to eyesight or hearing/balance? Hmmmm.

AAWWWW Emily Dawn is such a beautiful name! And my little girl weighed in at 7-11 (7lbs 11oz, not the convenience store) too! So it's a great number. Congratulations!!!!! Happy family!!

Could this be start of compulsive disorder?
the best me replied to jqpublic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, good for you! I could keep that up for what? a day or two? I'd say that's a healthy OCD issue!!! Keep THAT one! -
It's a free-for-all!!! kidding The fill issue and aftercare is a big one, especailly for MX folks but also if you go out of state. The BIG rule is to be sure you have a local (as close to home as possible) Band doc who will see you after having surgery somewhere else, whether in the states, MX, Belguim, or wherever. That's usually a big rub. I found one about an hour+ up the highway from me and feel fortunate. I would love to see my band doc in MX but I live in North Carolina, yes, the opposite side of North America, so the airfare is a bit much. You obviously have a local doc you have been working with. Would he or she see you and provide your aftercare if you were to go to, say, Texas for the surgery? You can always ask...make sure you have a band surgeon in mind when you ask. They might be more willing to say yes to a US doc, Inamed certified, etc. than an unknown MX doc with potential for liability problems. You have no real rights when you go out of the country, so that decision is not for everyone. For me, I love my Band surgeon. He has loads more experience than most US docs and an impeccable reputation so that made it better for me. Surf around in here. You will find plenty of entertaining and informative reading! And keep asking questions!!

Welcome!!! Where were you banded? What area of this great blue and green ball are you from? What's your mothere's maiden name? Just kidding, we are nosey around here so spill the beans on your Lap Band experience so far! Good to have you here...let us know if you have ticker trouble...if so I might can "bump" something for you.
