Okay, so my BMR is 1546.45 (based on 179 pounds, 5'5", F, age 41) so my calorie intake with light exercise (X1.375) is 2126 calories a day to maintain. If I deficit my calories by 1000 a day (more than that is not recommended) that has me eating 1126 calories a day, which is less than 1200 (again, not recommended) however, I'm averaging about 1250 calories a day for the last 2 weeks...with the exception of about 4 days where I had 1500-1600 calories in a day. Since I AM getting exercise (Curves 2-3 days a week and walking about 2 miles at least one day a week) then I should be losing, right? I feel stuck. Maybe I just need to keep plugging along and be patient? Geez, this is hard! Also, according to sparkpeople, the percentages of fat, protien and carbs in my daily diet are almost spot on every day! Except that day I ate a whole avocado with dinner...then my fat was waaaay up...oops! Any advice? Anyone? Bueller?

Trish! How's your hole?! I was thinking about you. Have I missed an update?

Mo declined...Canadasunshine spoke up next, then Joyce for September? So, CS, you got August? I'll be looking for your pom-poms!!!! Wow, it's alot with a challenge, but I'm in for a lower BMI challenge. I *just* barely fell into Overweight and out of Obese, so I'd really like to get it down more, more, more! If I need to walk 6 days a week, I'm in! -
And me in 1989? while waitressing in college. This is a slim year for me. I think I weighed about 125, although I did get down to 119 for about a week...LOL Still, wow.

LMBO! I'll have to scan in a few more pics...I don't have them in the 'puter, but I did manage to get some goodies. Funny 80's pics. Man, time flies. It's hard to believe my college years were so long ago. How'd I get to be 41? LOL I'll come back and edit...add a pic or two, can't wait to see yours Leatha! okay, here's me and my first car, a 1985 Mustang LX...

OMGosh Jodie, look how beautiful you are! I love that pic! -
Yes! For me, too. Except my tummy is NOT good dressed, and I don't imagine it will look any better in clothes when I lose this next bit of weight. It's so...there, and...yucky! LOL I have the C-section smile above my crotch. I don't like it undressed, of course, but could tolorate it if my clothes fit better. How I look dressed is the deal-breaker for me!

Melissa, my dip stuff is vegetarian. It's made with black beans, corn, feta cheese, and onion. Pot Sal and caulifower is veggie. So is fruit...she'll have lots to choose from!

(((hugs))) to you, my friend. I call my hubby "my little ray of sunshine" (yah, right) because sometimes his look on life and circumstances and his attitude in general is just plain ole grumpy!!!! And it tests his patience. And his temperment. He doesn't have trouble with losing his temper, but he can get surly. It drains the life out of me! For us, it's a matter of an attitude adjustment. It's been an issue often enough that I can say soemthing like "your'e killing me. you have GOT to stop" and he will change his attitude a bit. I think for him, it's a matter of not worrying, having a chance to talk things out, a good ole romp in the hay is a good distraction, LOL, and some spiritual perspective. It's really hard on me though. It's hard for me to be sweet during those times he needs me to be, when he is nothing but a grump! gggrrrrr. Anyhow, sounds like your situation is a bit more than just aggravating or difficult. Any advice I can come up with sounds so trite...I just don't know. And I don't know about anger management classes either. You aren't completely alone, and you have loads of friends and support here. I know others will post more good advice. Dont' give up yet!

Kim, I'll bring napkins. And drinks for us...so don't worry about us on that. And the salsa/chips.

I'm only doing what I HAVE to do and that's the Tummy Tuck. Yeah, I could prolly use the full lower lift, the inner thighs, and the boobs...heck, even the batwings...but I have decided I can live with ALL of it, as it is, once I get the next 15 pounds off. Except, that is, the tummy tuck. That nastiness HAS to go! I stand in the mirror and lift my belly away from me and dream it away. I also look to see if I will have ANY residual lift of my inner thighs. I'd rather not go there with the scalpel and the lipo canula. ewwww. So if my TT will lift just a tad from my inner thighs...I'm good to go. I watch this stuff on Dicsovery channel and TLC, too. I'm 41, married, with children, hubby doesn't expect me to look 20 again, (he just wants me happy), so I'm not doing ALL that. If I were 20 years younger though? Hell yeah. LOL

Cool James! I have been using sparkpeople.com but occasionally run into something I'd like to enter myself. Your link is a great resource! Thanks!

Congrats Mandy. I can't wait to see your pics! Yay you!!!!

Wonderful! You are a real grown-up now, with real bedroom furniture! LOL I thought buying our bedroom furniture would grow me up...it didn't. I can't wait to see how the room ends up. Get out the paint rollers! You need a bold wall color, but not dark. Is one of the dressers a low, long dresser? That always helps...it looks as if you have 3 tall pieces (2 dressers and 1 armoire). I agree with Argon, get the bed off the window wall and turn it sideways. Wow Donna! Very cool! Keep us updated on the new look!

Do you count calories?
the best me replied to CCBSTX's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I didn't used to count calories, but after loooong runs of plateaus, and it being harder to lose the less you need to lose...well, I had to take a look. I have been using sparkpeople.com and it has helped alot. What I DON'T get is why I'm eating 1200+ calories on MOST days, 1500-1600 on a few other days, over the last 2 weeks and I have lost...but not dropped like I thought I would. I finally got under 180, but seem stuck there, just like always. ??? And the percentages for carbs, fats, and protiens for my calories are right on, too. Any ideas anyone? Oh, I'm also exercising 3-4 days a week. Curves and brisk walking (a few miles). Should I start my own thread?! LOL -
Thanks for letting us know Greg. I'll be praying, as will many many others here. Ryan, you have a special place in so many of our hearts. You and Patty are a dear couple. Here's to strength and complete healing! :amen:

Which reality tv star? Go ahead and spoil, I don't mind! Oh, and Lance Bass is a Backstreet Boy or something, right? Just checkin'.:Banane56: -
I think it's just at the south end of things. Refrieds are a staple for me! Well, they used to be. Once you get to full mushies, refried beans are full of fiber and chew well. I love them, I just don't eat them as much as I used to. Stock up! They are super filling when you get the hungries post-op.

Loopylou? Has anyone heard from her?

Nykee's got to go to the fair food log..
the best me replied to Nykee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Go Nykee! I really want you to have fun at the fair. I love reading your food journal threads! I think you may be too tight for whole wheat tortillas, but that's been my substitiute lately for tostitos and wheat thins. Do you do tuna at all? You have your juice and milk, I have my coffee. With cream and sugar. It's my vice. If I could give up half what I drank every day my numbers would look so much better! BUT! My numbers WITH the coffee look so much better than they would if I didn't have the ever-present mug in my little hands. I can so relate to you in that area!!! (Oh, 'cept I'm not tight). Anyhow, keep up the good work. I love the water you are drinking, too! I want you to have fun at the fair!!!:clap2: -
