Gone For Good Club- August 2006
the best me replied to CanadaSunshine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The best me - H 242/ S 223/ J 188/ C 181.0 (-61 lbs total, +2.0 this week ) Starting BMI for August: 30.1 Eek! Okay, I'm planning on checking my BMI at the end of the month, but score cards and daily updates and tally marks and oh my! I'm not doing all that challenge stuff. Although Funny's prize would be WONderful! So I'll add my starting BMI to my line here...and check it at the end, just for fun! Good luck everyone!!!!!! And great work Sunshine! :clap2: :clap2: -
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :happybday2: :happybday2:

Close enough...you got the stuck feeling, the golf ball, I don't guess you actually slimed, (where you produce overloads of saliva and can't swallow it...have to spit and spit and spit...yuck) and you allowed yourself to throw up...a PB will come whether you like it or not!...but, yeah, close enough. If you can cut your pill, perhaps you can crush it in some applesauce? Make a nice, slow re-entry into drinking again. Sip small. I'd also recommend aloe vera juice to sooth and heal. A few ounces a few times a day till all this gets better. Welcome to bandland! It's a doozie!

LBT Charlotte Bandsters Picture Thread
the best me replied to the best me's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Here's our July pic... Back row (L to R) Dianne (sunsett), Angie (bondgirl), Melissa (Dragonwillow), Jill (wavydaby) Front Row: 3 bondgirls, Kathy (the best me), and Dianne's friend Amy -
Thanks Vera! How'd I miss this one, too?! I'm glad I came to the Forum, not just the new posts list. I'll dig up the picture thread, it gets buried but it's there...then I'll copy/paste whatever our group pic. Some conclusions: my shirt is too tight, I need some sun on my shoulders and chest, and man! check out that belly roll! Dang, I'm sure not done losing yet...hmmmm.

Thank you Funny! You rock! -
Then stick with hot tea, very small sips, keep doing your deep breaths/holding thing (which usually helps!) and lift your arms overhead and stretch. Geez, Margo, I'm really sorry! Do you have a fill the doc can take out?
-
Happy birthday Angie!! Just today, I listened to my voice mail on my cell phone and got your message...hellooooo!!!!!!! So, anyway, I'll see you Sat and we'll spill the Beans, LOL! Tomorrow is Angie's Biiiirth-day! Tomorrow is Angie's Biiiiirth-day!!!!!!

Dont' panic yet, it would seem EVERYone has some bit of scar tissue around the band. That tissues was pulled away to allow the band to go around. I have heard that scar tissue has interfered with replacing a new band after the old has been removed? A complete unfill should get rid of your heartburn problems. Watch what you eat while unfilled. After you have given your body and band a break, maybe you can start back on fills slowly and carefully. Don't be upset! Read up and find out what you can do to help yourself...a change in eating? some reflux/acid reducing medication? I'm not sure what else you have going on, but it sounds like this is just a bump in the road. Good luck! Keep us posted.

John, check out the Gone For Good Club-August in the Support Forum. There's a link in post #2 (I think) for a BMI chart. Hey La Madam!
-
Good for you on the unfill. No band probs...I just KNOW it! But, geez, Crystal...you ARE a law-breaker! Hope you feel better. I really am rooting for you, sometimes it's hard to do anything else but sit back and watch the saga continue...and send a (((HUG))) every now and then...

Oy, Karen, you need to check out the Christmas Lover's Thread in the Lounge. Are you a freak-a-zoid, too?!!!!!! Hi everyone! it's August!!!
-
Geez, I got so lost in my own post I forget what this thread was about...oops! Sorry shopgirl! I agree with Marimaru. You should be able to eat "real" healthy foods, not just carbs. You need to look for a fill level that lets you eat with no discomfort, real foods, hard protiens first and plenty of fresh veggies. Restriction isn't about NOT being able to eat, it's about being satiated on less food. But GOOD food! And...protien shakes are not solid protien. It's a liquid. Chicken is a solid protien. If you are having trouble with chicken, you don't need a fill, rather, an unfill. Please keep us posted! And thanks again for the link, Wheetsin.

Good...glad to see you here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's a squishy hug from me!

Leatha, did Melodie Beatty write Codependant No More? That's the book I was going to look for at the library. It was super helpful "back then" and helped me to realize how controlling I was being under the guise of Love. I'd have never thought I was being so manipulative, but, man, was I! Makes me wonder how I'm bringing that to my marriage. ??? I'll keep you posted! LOL
-
Paula, looks like you are on the right track, then. I appreciate the codependant comments. I dated an alcoholic in college and learned alot about myself by attending AlAnon. I wonder if some of my "codependant tendencies" are still hanging around! LOL I'll pick up a book at the library today, I think.

Interesting! I'm still a fan of the WW Giant Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Bar. 2 points...140 calories, 5g fat, 26g carbs(15 sugars), and 3 protiens. I have no trouble working that in. Thanks Elisabeth!

It's August, I'm panickin'!!!!!!!! Canadian Sunshine! Where are yooooouuuuuuuu???!!!!! LOL -
I have gotten very skilled at eating past the stop sign, which is where a small fill would help me. At this point, I think I'd benefit from eating less meals and more Snacks all day long. I may try that? But even with not getting another fill, I'm sooo good at 1200 calories a day, it's easy to eat that little! so I'm not messing with a fill right now. ???
-
Nana, I have been back and forth about whether or not to fill...I have NOT filled. My last one was actually in October? November? I have been logging my food on sparkpeople.com and I like it better than fitday. Plus, Wheetsin posted a link on a thread called "sucess" something...shucks, I'll see if I can scare it up or maybe she'll post a link here? *hint* and the info there was helpful. Anyhow, before you do the fill/unfill thing, take a hard look at your intake. Calories, fat, carbs, protiens, all of it. Maybe you can make some changes? I did, and it got me below 180 finally! but I'm feeling stuck again...it's hard! Here's the thread with Wheesin's link. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=21668
