Same thing here. I wasn't online all day yesterday (Sat) but tried to log on Sat night. I got a PM and read that fine, and got the home page, but couldn't click on any threads or Forums. I got the refresh page, too. Maybe they cut us off, Nana. LOL Glad to be back...I'll behave, promise!

Hey Kim, I'll be at Concord Mills tomorrow from 11am to 1 or 1:30. Could we schedule a drop-off of the bags I have? I'll check the board in the morning. If no reply, I'll call your cell when I hit the road at 10:30am.

powerful vomitting four days post-band
the best me replied to squiggle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Another suggestion: sips need to be super small. Maybe even smaller than that. Post-op swelling in the band area will cause the upper pouch to drain very slowly. You put 3 tbs of anything in there and it says "no way, Jose!" and up it comes faster than you can imagine. I *think* you may have just PB'd (vomited back up) what couldn't go through fast enough. Especially if you haven't vomited anything else till then, or since then. I'd recommend (in addition to calling your docs) Aloe Vera juice for both of you. It's very healing and soothing. The sore throat could be from stomach acid (reflux) and aloe vera really helps that. Perhaps some Prevacid or Prilosec as well (acid reducer) or Tums (antacid) for short term relief. Both of you take it very slowly, stay away from acidic liquids like orange and tomato juices or tomato Soups. And try to stay hydrated. IV fluids are helpful. I needed several bags 1 week post-op I could barely get anything down. The IV fluids put me on the healing side. I think it helped the swelling to go down. Keep us posted, both of you! -
I closed down a bar in Austin, Texas listening to some funky jazz band. The lights came up, and down on the floor was Kenny Loggins. I shook his hand and he kissed my right cheek. Or was it the left? (damn beer). I'll think of some more, but I promise my list isn't very long. Plus, I'm not telling my own Cowboy Secrets. Stuff hubby doesn't even know about. Some things you just need to keep yer mouth shut about, right?

Yes! Exactly why you need a local doc who will see you. And in a pinch, even if it costs a pretty penny, you can get a local unfill. Too tight stinks! I budgeted money for expensive "what ifs", I just don't like to spend it! If I had to, though, it's there. The doc in Dalton Georgia is Dr. Ponce. He's been around for a looong time and has a good reputation. I think his website is Hamilton Weight Loss Surgery?...a google will take you there.

Dianne, you gotcha one happy hubby. You go, girl! Ya'll look FAB!

Allison, I went to Dr Kuri, also in TJ, and his fills are $70 for flouro (Pretty sure, and Ortiz is comparable from what I hear). I haven't been back to MX since banding. It's less a money issue and more a time issue. I don't wanna be gone for 2 days getting a fill. I have had 2 fills (and 1 unfill) with Dr Gonzales in Winston Salem. His flouro fills are about $350 for the doc and another $400 for the hospital ??? or about that. Pricey. My fills have been non-flouro, but my port is super easy to access. Dr G's comment was "I can get Dr Kuri's ports from across the room" so that was reassuring. I'm done with fills now though. I have about 2cc in a 4cc band and don't want more. I'm 10 pounds from wedding weight, and 30 pounds from goal. I can do this, now! LOL My best advice is to be certain you have a doc nearby who can/will see you should you have trouble, even if you get your fills in MX. Good luck! I hope some Asheville area folks pop in here!

Me too, so I'm hoping NurseKathy won't mind if this thread gets killed. Come on guys, I know there's some cheese lovers out there. I, personally, love avocados. Do you know how much fat is in those puppies? -

Donna, you should hook up with jttaurus, she opted for the LapRnY and had her surgery back in May, I think. Maybe she'll pop in here. She'd be a great resource for you! Hey Allison! There a few other Ashville folks here, so be on the lookout! Maybe ya'll can start an Ashville Bandsters Thread?! Wouldn't that be cool?! I went to San Diego and into TJ too. I saw Dr Kuri. Had a great experience. You'll do fine! Do you have your fill doc lined up here in NC, or will you fly back for fills? Wow, Sept 5th will be here fast!!! Keep us posted!

Can I read it? This is excellent news! Congratulations!!!!!

Oh my, I'm missing intros! Hi Donna in Monroe! How's your "option checking" going? Hey Vickie! yup, for some folks it takes several fills to get good restriction. Please be patient and hang in there. The weight WILL come off! Log your food, keep your fat intake low. Don't sweat it. Don't knock yourself out. If exercise isn't your bag, don't do something drastic, just start walking. 15 min at a time. Have you had another fill since you posted last? Please update! Welcome loopyloulou! Are you in Belgium? I think you may be, I see you are measuring in Stones. You have less than 30 pounds to go! Well done! Welcome to LBT! Welcome all of you!

WTG Karen! You make it seem so easy! Here's to meeting your goals in Quick Time!!!!

Dianne, will you be in the Huntersville or North Charlotte area anytime? If I were getting a gift card, I could mail it, but I have a few shopping bags of clothes and shoes for the 3yo boy. (No grown up stuff...sorry!) I have my own little 3yo so "carpooling" these things would be super helpful to me. Lemme know!
