I'm 3 months post op. Have lost avg 12lbs month and down from 246-206.... And down 4 sizes. I feel great, doing well with diet and joined a gym and work out 3 times a week. The problem I'm having is mood swings. They are constant! I was told by family I'm bipolar. I'm not bipolar but I have these crazy highs and lows. Has anyone else experienced these constant and frequent mood swings?? Any suggestions??? I take birth control so on hormones. Help!!

I'm not on denial. I'm an RN And have been diagnosed with clinical depression many years ago. I see a therapist and I'm not bipolar. I go to the gym and work out the negative energy. I know these are forums and I'm not asking for professional help. I was just hoping that at least on this forum others could relate or give suggestions but I'm starting to get the feeling if I ask I get snarky comments and it's unecessary. We are here for reasons and those that were helpful thank you. Those who are snarky well maybe I'm not the only one with an issue. Just sayin...be helpful not hateful.

I AM A FOOD ADDICT!!! No if ands or bits about it. Drug addicts and alcoholics that are in denial don't like to be told they are addicts too,so expect those who are in denial about it not to be receptive to hearing that word. Most of us who have gone through wls are addicts and we learn other ways to cope or what have you. Not everyone who is obese is an addict, but I have to say majority of us are. I'm glad I got to the point where I knew I needed help and did something about it before 284lbs turned into 384lbs and at the rate I was going, I would've been there with in the next 5 yrs or so. Thank Jesus for wls...it saved me and my life. No regrets!!

I hate skinny Beotchs
peacenik7609 replied to LI Gemini NY's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am called skinny all day at work and I love every minute of it!! I always say I never get tired of hearing it and of all the names I've ever been called, skinny is not one I thought I'd ever hear! But I totally agree, I hate those naturally skinny beotches....don't worry, once they hit 40 and continue to eat like pigs, IT WILL catch up with them....sweet, sweet justice! Ahhhhh -
I agree, it's not fun to eat out anymore. I've done it a few times but it is a bummer not being able to drink before and after. I've taken all the food I've orders home and usually eat it one more day and then throw it out. My hubby usually orders good and I just take a few bites of his food. I'm now told I'm a cheap date! Lol. Just have to make better choices and your body will tell you what you can tolerate and what you can't. I agree with the breakfast suggestion. Usually can get anytime and anywhere. Well at least here in Las Vegas you can. Good luck!

Only regret I had was why I didn't pursue it sooner. I'm 3 months post op, had it do e April 18. At my heaviest I was 284lbs and wore a size 24. Today I'm 209 lbs and wearing a size 18, getting close to 16. First 3 days post op were awful, but I got through it and NEVER looked back! I'm so happy, healthy and just feel amazing. Recently joined a gym and got a trainer. I'm amazed at my new stamina and drive to go and work out. I feel normal for the first time ever. The pre op diet is tough and I struggled, but no regrets!! Going to be getti g on a plane in few weeks and looking forward to it I stead of dreading the flight. I'll finally be able to fit in the seat comfortably. Hope this helps!

Mental Hunger, How do you deal with it?
peacenik7609 replied to Karmen081020's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm finding I have some strange cravings....Doritos, tacos, burgers, French fries....but I keep reminding myself hey if you eat that, one, you'll be so sick, and two, its all about moving forward and onward....that would just be going back to that unhappy life I drastically had to change. Just being 8 days post op, I feel amazing and so glad I went through this. I know it's not easy, but nothing worth having is easy. Any suggestions on how I can increase my fiber intake during this 2 week post op diet?? Doing supplements, but not getting enough..... -

For My April Sleevers
peacenik7609 replied to Khloé's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on Facebook, but I find this forum much better. But if I decide to go back, I want in....now the important reason for my post...I am having the toughest time with my preop liquid diet. I spoke with my surgeon, his answer was to drink another shake. How much protein is too much? I actually feel like I'm withdrawing from food. I have stomach pains, cramps, sweats, shaky and diarrhea. I know I'm a food addict and expected withdrawal, but this is super hard!! Is anyone else struggling like I am? My friends and family only help so much. They don't know what to say or how to help. I find when I can eat my one and only lean and green meal, I inhale it like I've never eaten before, and within 30 mins I'm so hungry again. I'm trying to stay busy and not think about it, but it's hard to do when you are feeling "sick". It's almost like I'm dope sick!! Needed ex to talk me down from the ledge on Friday night cuz all I wanted and thought about was eating. I've failed at every single diet I have ever done, obviously, so I'm so afraid I'm going to fail and it's 2 weeks of this. I'm welcome to any and all comments, suggestions and if I'm being a whiney baby, tell me that too! Just afraid of failing....again!!!! HELP! -

Started 2 week liquid preop diet
peacenik7609 replied to peacenik7609's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for the response. I found I am lactose intolerant so I started using soy milk or water, but the outcome is miserable. I have talked to surgeon and I have my pre op appointment tomorrow and will ask about snacking. Lol, I'm sure I know the answer as well. Better get to store and get me some sf Popsicles. But can't really eat them at work. I just have to hang in there but this sux! Lol - -
April 12 is my date and I'm afraid
peacenik7609 replied to Doughboi's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm kind in that position too newbie. I was uber excited and still excited, but having a lot of stress at work and home. And I too have read about the problems, but I keep having to tell myself that everyone is different. Now I'm just getting anxious and having second thoughts bc of these damn shakes too, but I know for me, this is for me to live a life again. Just went threw separation after 10 yrs marriage never thought I'd get thru that and I came out great! So have to keep telling myself this is going to be my best life decision I EVER made. So worth the hard part, otherwise not worth at all. Good luck and hope you can look at things from different prospective. -
