    Bad acid and gas

I was sent home with omeprazole too. I accidentally tossed it with my pain meds and anti-nausea meds though. I didn't need it. Check with your doc. You definitely need some relief!

    Yay! Big milestone! Many congratulations!

    depressed

I so identify with what you shared with us! I just wanted to point out that sleep apnea (which I have also) if left untreated makes it physically difficult to get out of bed in the morning. Your body has not received enough sleep. Combine that with depression, and you need to sleep in! Take good care of yourself. This surgery is great!

Thanks Terri! You make me feel inspired!

Happy... but I miss rice. I shouldn't, right?

I love rice. I had made the move to brown rice a few years ago because the white stuff is so high on the glycemic index and required too much insulin. (I am a Type I diabetic.) So try to remember that it requires your body to release too much insulin, and insulin=fat. But I will miss it too!

    Surviving when life sucks

My God, I am so very sorry for your loss. I know those words don't mean much in a time like this. Thank you for sharing your wise guidelines with us. I need to stop whining and be ever-thankful for everyday. My heart and prayers go out to you.

    Don't get frustrated slow losers!

I have to admit, I am a little disappointed that I weighed in yesterday, and had only lost a pound last week. Rationally, I know 1-2 pounds per week is an average loss, and my monthly guest may play a part in Water retention...I guess we all just have our moments. I told my mom, "This is what normal people's bodies do during Weight Watchers!" That didn't work for me last time around. It amazes me that I have to eat 500 calories and have 80% of my stomach removed before I see the scale SLOWLY moving in the right direction! sigh... Thank you for your uplifting news! (And for allowing me to vent.) Amy
  11. I may actually try zucchini lasagne, a recipe I got from my NUT. The zucchini is cut into long strips and replaces the pasta. It's an idea!

Congratulations on your surgery date! Yahoo! You're on your way!
  13. The air bubble issue should improve with time. Sometimes I get it after eating, but moving around helps. Congratulations on your surgery!

    No drain tube after VSG?

Done in Maine. No drain tube for me. A 2 night hospital stay is required. I was in for 3 nights.

    January Sleeve

Remember that things get easier--getting in your water and protein won't always be as challenging as it is now. Fatigue will get better, but it takes time. Rest when you can! You're on your way!!
