  1. My evil husband made nachos for the Superbowl last night. (MAJOR slider food for me.) And I didn't even touch them! Not one! Yay me!

    need encouragement!

They are scared for you because they love you. But you are the one that has done the research and the preparation. You are the one that knows that it is a lot riskier to stay obese than it is to take this step to change. You are the one that can take this step for a healthier future. Know that WE are behind you!

    Surgery Tomorrow

I agree with everyone above. It's odd, we've all been heavy, but in some way it's comforting to be what we've always been, until the surgery occurs, and then you can actually visualize the future and a brand new you doesn't seem so scary. It seems POSSIBLE! You can do this. Best of luck today.

    constipation Wow

I have been using Benefiber daily in my tea. (They recommend 3 teaspoons a day.) It dissolves completely and you can't taste it.

I need to get back on the horse

It might be useful (as nuts as it sounds) to clear out your kitchen. Dump all the "slider foods" that tempt you. No chips, Cookies, ice cream, whatever it is that you are craving right now. If you live with others, ask for their help. You are resorting to what we all have done during times of stress and anxiety. I, too was very worried pre-op that I would gain weight. Would you consider talking to your NUT or Psychologist about this? I guess it's possible it might delay the surgery a bit, but it will mean you are being real with yourself and real about this surgery. You can do this, but we all have psychological hurdles to tackle, most of which deal with self-medicating with food. Good luck!

    Surgery in 8 1/2 hours!

Best of luck! You are on your way!

    Any ideas?

You'll have to contact your insurance company to answer your specific plan coverage. They vary widely. Otherwise, all the advice above is correct. Most bariatric programs will have a qualified dietician to help you with your supervised weight loss plan. Good luck!!

    Sleeve is 100% BETTER

This is my 7th week and I am noticing I can get about 750 some days.

    Gas post sleeve?

Yes, it is normal and does quiet down. Or you get used to it!

    Problems - can you help?

OMG! Find a bariatric surgeon and see him/her immediately! You are in dangerous territory. If your incisions are wide open, God knows what is happening inside you. This is very scary! You need to get nutrients/fluids in, or you will end up in the hospital and very sick. Please err on the side of caution here. This is scary!
  11. I too am very well endowed. Worried I will loose a lot off the girls after surgery. My husband said that would be ok he guesses. We will just have to see how it goes. I wear your before sizes now and hope to have the same type progress you're having in a few months You can and will do it Barbie! I have never lost so much weight before but it seemed to me the main places it's been falling off are my hands, face and definitely my thighs are melting but my breasts are still big. I actually want the, to go down. If not i feel like they'll start to look like implants. I have always been well-endowed too. They will go down. My friend actually told me they looked smaller last week. Happy about that!
  12. Well, I am 6.5 weeks out and have lost 22 pounds-ish. (i only weigh once a week.) My problem is...(drum roll) my butt is in the front! My actual butt is just a place where my legs join together onto a flat and flabby space. My "belly butt", sadly, is nicely rounded and is the last place I will lose weight, since it is the first place I put it on. Anyway, my preferred clothing is jeans so, the button and fly have a hard time connecting as my "belly butt" is in the way. For now, I am wearing size 16's, which were very tight when I had surgery, and now require a belt or they fall to that flat and flabby space where my legs join together. My size 14 jeans laugh at me when I try to put them on. It's all very sad. I am hoping 10-15 pounds from now, I will feel better about the fit of my clothing!

    Carb intake

My NUT said under 45 a day, but I try to stay way under that. (Like bearman99, I am diabetic.)
  14. I'm glad you loving it and comorbidities are improving which that's the most important reason for this surgery! What was your BMI? How much have lost? It's on my ticker. I was just under 35 to begin with, and I have lost 22 pounds in 6 weeks.
  15. Loving, loving, loving. My comorbidities are improving. I finally know what "full" means. I am losing slowly (low BMI) but consistently. Worth every annoyance those first few days post-surgery. You'll be so glad you did it!
  16. I'd just work to eat what the NUT tells you to eat. You may not want the food, but you will find that after a while, no more than 350 cal. will leave you feeling weak and fatigued. Best of luck!

The girls are sad and deflated!

Still, I wouldn't mind if they looked people square in the eye, so to speak. Right now all they see is the floor.
  18. So do you have a date yet? My nurse surgeon told me to start avoiding carbs and up my Protein and she said if I loss weight it's ok because they will submit my first weight they took! I only had to do 3 months of weight management so I just need one more meeting and I will be done! Good luck to you!! I already had the surgery. Dec. 18th. Yes, it was the same for me, at some point they said it was OK to lose. My 2 week pre-op diet was a 1200 calorie diet. I don't eat half of that anymore! I only lost 3 pounds on it.

The girls are sad and deflated!

But how bad is the scarring if you get them lifted? I mean, it would be nice if I didn't have to tuck them into my waistband anymore , but I don't want a bunch of big scars either!
  20. I WANT COFFEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. SkinnyPeach

      SkinnyPeach

You should try tasters choice decaf single in a vanilla protein shake. It takes just like ice coffee from Starbucks. I loved it during preop diet. Hope this helps!

    2. Teachamy

      Teachamy

Thanks for your sympathy! They don't want me drinking decaf. either. (Because of the acid) until 3 months post-op, but I'm only 6 weeks out and rapidly losing my resolve! I will try your idea. Thank you!

  21. OMG! I WANT COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGG!

    Pre op diet

They are limiting the number of green veggies you can have? I ate at least one HUGE cucumber every day on my preop diet. It helped. My diet was a lot like yours, but I got 2 meals of lean meats and veggies, a yogurt, a fruit, and at least 2 protein shakes. I could never eat that much now. (Funny...it seemed like so little then!) Maybe you NUT can offer advice?
  23. I use Jergens for extra dry skin.
  24. I know how you feel to some extent. I was barely a 35, but I have every comorbidity on the list. So--I was constantly worried I would lose too much weight and be under a 35 (and no longer qualify) or I'd be gaining weight. (Which you are not allowed to do before you see the surgeon.) It's a crazy situation. Once I finished my 6 mos. of classes and tests, it all seemed to snowball quickly. Fasten your seatbelt!

    pain

I would also make sure you are getting in your 64 oz. of water. Dehydration can cause pain similar to a UTI.
