Mommy, I can reach my arms around you!
Teachamy replied to Bronco0605's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So cute! Congratulations! -
Have any of you tried the Quest Pasta? They are sending me free samples of the pasta with some bar flavor samples. (Great customer service.) Just wondering about the flavor of the pasta. The nutritional info. seems too good to be true!

A therapeutic post

You're only human. Are you allowed sugar free popsicles or sugar free jello on this diet? They may help take the edge off. Good luck! You can do it! -
I am excited about this because since it's made from a root, not a grain, the carbs are very low and won't negatively affect my blood sugar or increase my need for insulin. I am not a big fan of spaghetti squash, so this may be an occasional treat .

Have you tried sugar-free popsicles? I was able to tolerate them pretty well in the hospital. -
Rock on!

You look great! -
No, not yet. Could it be the chili powder that is irritating your throat?

I have AFib, and I know for me, after I get restored to regular, sinus heart rate, it takes a few weeks for my BP to go back down to normal. I am wondering if your body is responding to the trauma of surgery. Either way, I hope your doc. can shed some light on it for you! Good luck!

What does your doctor say?

Your convictions and reason for following through, chapstick, toothbrush, jammies, lotion. You'll do great! -
Got my surgery date and.....help?
Teachamy replied to Margie14's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most clear liquid diets include sugar-free jello and sugar-free popsicles. Check with your doctor's office to make sure these are OK. You CAN do this. You MUST do this. -
The Correlation: Fiber Gummies, Miralax, 2 Week Stall
Teachamy replied to one_more_time's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep--my stall this week was apparently due to the same problem. I need to get things moving again! -
The scale is moving in the wrong direction...
Teachamy replied to Bobbi McGhee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone gains weight after the surgery. Most of it is from the IV fluids you were given that your body has yet to expel. Also, your body is still adjusting. Please look up Butterbean's signature. There is an article there you need to read about how your body will lose weight. In the meantime, just know this is normal! You are fine. -
My NUT said no coffee--not even decaf--until the 12 week mark. I am just over 10 weeks now and drinking it. Apparently they think it is too acidic for a healing stomach, so I listened for quite a while, but eventually I gave in! It also tends to dehydrate the body, so that's a little counter-productive right now. But I find most people on here had no restrictions at all from their docs.

Hot Suppah! (Or hot supper if not in New England) ;)
Teachamy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What are you having for dinner tonight? I need ideas. I am also going to look for recipes somewhere on this site! -
I like the Think Thin bars, but the rave reviews of the Quest cookie dough bars caused me to look them up on Amazon, and surprise! They are gluten free! So I bought a box. Looking forward to it.

any recommendations for pureed food in the initial period?
Teachamy replied to joydenstar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cottage cheese was a must for me, also yogurt. I lived on them while supplementing with Protein shakes. -
My program schedules people for 2 nights typically, but I was there for 3 nights because of cardiac Afib.

I think we all had that moment of regret shortly after surgery, but it passes quickly. Happy for you!

My transformation in video!
Teachamy replied to SuNMooNStaRS816's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Glad you decided to "wake up and be awesome". You look terrific, and it was clearly an emotional/spiritual journey for you. Very happy to see you fit perfectly into those 5/6's! -
I count grocery shopping with 2 kiddos as exercise! Also if you have TV "On Demand", there is a fitness channel that has various exercise options for free. You might also check out videos at your local library.

3 week out.. Wondering mind....
Teachamy replied to tiffany81's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No, no dumping. Sliming, yes, but no dump. And yes, sadly perhaps, you will be able to eat chips and frozen yogurt without any problems. (other than self-sabotage)
