march sleevers the good and the bad

I concurr with Beba238 on everything she said. I find the texture of the puréed food to be gross. I was sleeved on March 18 and I am down 20 pounds. I have lost two dress sizes since surgery day! I am glad that I am off work because learning to eat again and get enough water and protein is challenging. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    March 18th sleever and EXCITED!

Hi Jazzy1, I am doing okay. I am no longer in pain. I am still struggling with Protein choices. Can not find many that I like. I am choosing to focus on getting enough Water and intaking the protein that I can. I am missing food. I have put nibbles of my families food in my mouth just for the taste and spit it out. I have also tried to actually eat some items and had them come back up. I see now that I need to plan my meals because this desire to taste or sample could quickly lead to a habit of grazing. I am down 8 pounds since surgery day and I started my liquid Protein diet on day 3 after surgery. Finding protein that taste good is difficult. Things that tasted good before surgery are no longer acceptable. Be patient with yourself and this process. I am new to the forum as well so I appreciate your friendship. How are you doing?

    March 18th sleever and EXCITED!

Hi all, I am a March 18th Sleever, too! This special day is also my Birthday so it will always be significant to me. I had the experience of waking up in pain in recovery. I was told I could not be given pain medication because I kept falling asleep. I was then transferred to my unit and pain medication was delayed for two and half more hours. Due to a shift change and my Doctors resident failing to enter the order for. PCA pump. This was not a pain free experience but I am doing well now physically. Mentally I am struggling with my Protein choices not many things taste good. I will hang in there. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  4. I can relate to the stress. I have a one and a two year old . I am also a single Mom. I think I have a huge learning curve a head of me. I am determined to be successful so I am building a support system. I am telling myself now to ask for help when needed. We all should. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  5. I got my Sleeve on March 18th which was also my Birthday. I thought it was completely serendipitous. I have avoided the scale after weighed myself on Day 2 after surgery and noted a 10 pound weight gain. I feel good physically most discomfort is at night. I am having a hard time getting in the recommended Water and Protein. It seems that eating and drinking takes all day. I am at a stage 2 diet and I was told to eat/drink 1 oz of Fluid every 10 minutes. I am constantly watching the clock. It seems this will not be doable when I return to work. I know it has to be for my health's sake, I just can't see it in my mind's eye yet. How long do we continue to need to sip every 10 minutes? Sent from my iPhone using VST
