Glad to hear ur doing alot better now Aussie! We have all been thinking of u. Rest up and take it easy
-
In Australia we call it soft drink or softie!!!
-
I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!! I went out for dinner with friends and my sister a couple of weeks ago and I felt sick! My sister is trying to lose weight as she has to but she still put away a 300g steak and chops and other veg. Plus she had 2 pieces of birthday cake! Everyone else was the same! Then I was asked if I want more food after I had finished my little meal! I'm like really?? It's very hard to keep my mouth shut but I do as I was like that 3 months ago

My friends mum had the sleeve done about 3 months ago. She had a bypass done 15 years ago and was slowly dying from it. So the hooked her stomach back up and sleeved it. This is in Australia. So yes it can be done. And she hasn't regained her weight

A friend of mine is looking at the public free system. It is a 12 month waiting period. But she'll have to see a dietition and pysic a few times over that 12 months. She is 5ft and weights at 150kg. So she is a person who qaulifies for it

All the best and we'll all be thinking of u. Just think of the gorgeous body in summer!
-
Sounds like ur doing sooo well! The sleeve was the best thing for me too. I'm down 21.1kgs since 20th May! I could never have able to do that on my own. I'm able to eat most things and am trying more foods every day. Hope everyone is doing well and keep up tge great work!!

Did you lose weight and get shorter
Bec101 replied to mrdr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is normal, as u lose weight in ur feet so u lose height and shoe sizes. Don't worry -
Isn't it funny how we all are different. I can sleep with no problems and have been since coming out of the hospital. If I don't get 9hrs I'm crap for the day! I hope everyone who is having trouble sleeping gets over it soon

Good luck for next week Aussiegirl! We'll all be thinking of u. I bet ur nervous but as Melissa said u'll be rocking it at the beach in time for summer!

Thank goodness it's just not me. Food just doesn't taste the same. I'm trying to see it as a positive but it's hard. I'm on normal foods and it's just a little hard lol. I have just had a wrap with chicken, cheese, mayo and lettuce. It tastes better than anything I've had lately. We'll see how this next week goes -
Hi Donna, It's just stuff that comes up after u eat, like yukky spit. I get that after I eat too

Yep every surgeon is different. I was on a 2 week optifast diet. I had 2 shakes a day and 1 very low carb meal. Plus I could have a much chicken broth as I wanted. It'll be good to speak to ur doctor though just to check

That is so so sad. My thoughts are with her loved ones. You do realise how lucky we are to have come through this surgery to lead normal lives. It just makes you think about everything.

Hey guys, i've been reading all the posts but just haven't posted myself lol. Well I'm coming up to 9 weeks post op and am doing great! In total I'm down 18kgs from pre op. I'm so happy with that. And am now in a size 20 from a 24. I weigh every Monday and tomorrow I do my measurements for the month. The past 2 weeks I've been sick with throwing up with Breakfast and lunch. But I'm now fine. I have been struggling with eating 60gms Protein but am trying harder now. My fitness pal has helped. I'm looking at joining a gym next week too, plus I'm trying to find a job. But other than that I'm doing really well!

Hi everyone! I too was sleeved on June 3rd. I'm now down 39lbs since pre op and I'm starting to feel fantastic. How is everyone doing with solids? I have been sick a few times which sucks. But I'm learning what to avoid and that I really do have to slow down when eating
