    Sleeve surgery and PCOS

Hi guys, I too have PCOS. I was sleeved on June 3rd last year. I now have regular periods, I still have excess hair but my hairs on my face are much better. I started at 314lb and am now down to 207lb. I was lucky and had no stalls. Also just so people know, u will never get rid of PCOS BUT u can reduce ur symptoms. I'm sorry to say. But the sleeve has helped me so much. My face has cleared up too and so has the pimples I got on my arms and chest. So overall it has been great. My weightloss has been steady and I'm happy with that. But in saying this some weeks I only lost 300gms. But a loss is a loss. I have now been cleared to start trying for a baby so yay! Best of luck to everyone with their journey Ceers Bec

Hi everyone! How are u all doing? Well it's been 9 months and I'm feeling fantastic! I've lost 107lb and 140.5cms over all. This was the best thing I have ever done for myself

  5. Hi Merry, I'm sorry to say that there isn't anything that will help. I am taking Silica tablets for hair, nails and skin. It has helped my nails and skin but I have still lost hair. Sorry to guve u unhappy news
  6. This sounds like what happened with me and another chic who I was sharing a room with. I had to keep turning my alarm off too. It took 1.5hrs to get my bag of fuild and panadol changed!!!! We were so not happy at all!!!
  7. Wow someone else who had Dr Daoud!!!! I too was very unimpressed with the surgical ward nursing. Only 1 was good the others were OMG! Glad to hear ur doing well. Yep just sip sip sip!!

Also I live 5 mins from Greenslopes so if u like a face to face just let me know and we could meet up. But other wise everyone here are very helpful!! All the best for ur up coming ops Cheers Bec
  9. Well I saw my surgeon today for my 9 month check up. He is very happy with my 47kg weightloss. But since I'm have bowel troubles he has booked me in on Tuesday for a colonoscope and gastroscope. So fingers crossed they can find out what is going on
  10. Hey Misty to answer ur question all the above but I have no problems passing wind. Thanks for the info Sue, i just got back from my GP. Looks like my bowel is not empting fully. So I have had a couple of tests to check this. But have to wait till next week to have an Xray as we're waiting on the results of the tests. I have to go back on Benefibre to see if it helps empty the bowel.
  11. This sounds awesome Alex!! It would be great to do these also for Australia as there is lots of us. We do organise our own catchups but this sounds like a great idea!!
  12. Morning everyone, I have a question for you all. I'm sorry if this is TMI but I need to know if anymore else has had this problem. I've been having BM troubles in that I've been having really bad cramping and then having to run to the loo and have nothing happen. This goes on for hours everyday and then I finally go to the loo. Well today I had to go home from work as the cramping is making me want to throw up and my tummy is bloated, but I have been able to go to the loo. For the last few months I've had to take Benefibre everyday just so that I have some kind of BM. But in the last week or so I've not been taking it because of the mentioned problem. So what I wanted to know is, has anyone else had this and should I just speak to my surgeon (I get to see him after 6 months next month) My GP as said that the cramps my be just my period but that isn't due for another 2 weeks. Any ideas would be great. Cheers Bec

    POOP.

I have to have 4 heaped teaspoons of Benefiber a day plus I have a Inner Health Plus tablet too. I'm 8.5 months out. I tend to go every 2 days as long as I take everything. But I do get lots of pain and then I have to run to the loo. I hope this helps
  14. All best for ur trip and ur op! Hope everything goes great for u. Yeah all here for u!! Bec
  15. Hey Lissa!! Thanks I feel fantastic and the best I've ever felt! I so understand what ur saying. I too have started to stick up for myself and people just think I'm not nice or kind as I used to be! I used to think why should I say what I think cause I'm not worth it. But now look out haha. My sister stopped talking to me for about 2 weeks cause I told her what for and she got pissed at me lol. I have to say I find it funny. People have to get used to the new us and deal with it!!
  16. Woohoo!!!! Congrats on the new life! Just remember to get ur fluid in and walk as well. But do take it easy.
  17. Hi everyone. I thought I'd update. Monday coming will be 8 months to the day since I was sleeved. I'm currently down 45kgs! So I'm now sitting at 97.6kgs. I'm only just starting to see it in the mirror which is great. I had to go shopping for more clothes again and am fitting and looking good in size 14!!!!!! I've never been a size 14 that I can even remember lol. So I'll up load a pic in my new size 14 dress
  18. Yeah Kellie is so right about the pain meds. I was only on panadol with in hospital and out. The only reason I went to mum's is we have a 47kg bulldog and he loves to play to much. Anyway I think ur list sounds about right for ur "food" lol. Just as long as u follow the plan that ur surgeon set out for u, u'll be right. I had lots of problems with plain water so cordial was my life saver!! But now I can only drink my drinks if they are ice cold. But others can't drink it cold. So just see how u go. What day to u have ur op?
  19. I felt ok. Just uncomfortable. I was at home for a few days and then went to my mum's as my hubby had to go away for work. I just couldn't look after our 47kg puppy. I was not allowed to drive for about a week but didn't feel like I could until week 3. I too agree make sure u have everything u need!! Also if u have any questions just ask Good luck for ur op next week Cheers Bec

    Failure!

Eggswithlegs, I'm in Brisbane. Just wanted to know if u would like me to send u a copy of the post op plan that my Dr and Dietition gave me? I have to have a min 60g protien but not count cals. Myfittness pal has helped just so I know how much protien I'm getting. We're all here to help. As Misty said look up the Attention!!! Aussie Sleevers thread. We can help u closer to home! Just let me know Cheers Bec
  22. I was so excited that at 5am I ran and jumped on my hubby and told him.....he was asleep lol. This has been the best thing I have done for myself. I'll send u a copy of my mesaurements/weight spreadsheet if u like. As I weigh in every Monday and write it in and then every month I do my mesaurements. So just let me know if u want to have a look
  23. I'm just over 7 months now and I'm down from 142.5kg pre-op to now at 99.5kg. My monthly loss is as follows: May/June: 13kg July: 5kg Aug: 4.4 Sept: 6.4 Oct: 4.5 Nov: 4.7 Dec: 3.3 I haven't had any stalls that others have had but I have had some weeks where I only lost .3kg etc. I'm very happy with how I'm going and so is my surgeon. I'm with Misty that I'm doing this as a lifestyle thing and not a crash diet either. As long as your happy with yourself it's fine.
  24. OMG!! I'm now in the double digits!!! This is the first time since at least 1997 when I was grade 12! Sorry I just had to share with people who would understand why I'm so happy
