  1. Hi guys, sorry I haven't been around for a while. I do read the posts as they come on my phone. I have been living my life lol. Well today is my 12 month mark!! I can't believe it's been 12 months haha. What a journey to have made. Getting my sleeve done was the best thing I have ever done. Here are my stats from last year and today: 3/6/2013: Weight: 135.1kg... Bust: 128cm Waist: 130cm Hips: 152cm NOW for TODAY: 3/06/2014: Weight: 89.4kg Bust: 104cm Waist: 99cm Hips: 114cm All up I have lost 53.1kg that is from the first day of my pre op that was 2 weeks long. Plus overall I have lost 165.5cm over my body!!! Look I haven't done as good as I should have over the last 2 months but that's ok a I'm only human. And here's to the next 12 months Oh and for those of you who have PCOS well there is light at the end of the tunnel.......I have been told I no longer have PCOS I only have PCO which is great!!! My ovaries are normal and my husband and I have started our second round of IUI to have our first child, so watch this space Well done to everyone who has had their sleeve done you are all doing great!!! And good luck to everyone who is going to get it done soon. It was the best thing I did for myself. Cheers Bec

  3. U'll feel so much better once u get home. So glad to hear all is well. We're all here to help with any questions so ask away
  4. Good to hear ur ok. Just do as u have been told and walk as much as u can and sip sip sip. Welcome to the losers bench!!!
  5. All the best for ur ops Kadybug and Ozikiwi. U'll both do well. The morning of my op I was feeling the same as u. I nearly called it quits 5mins before I was takin into the op room!! But I knew this was the best thing for me and it was. Looking forward to hearing how u both go. See u on the sleeved side Bec
  6. I had 2 stitches poking through and all my doctor did was cut it back. After a few weeks they went away. Don't be too worried
  7. Hi Hayley83, My hairloss was quiet a bit. My hair just really thinned out. My hairdresser noticed 2 areas that had thined right out so she changed my haircut to cover it. My regrowth was great as I took Silica tablets or the liquid form from 4 weeks post op. It doesn't prevent hairloss but it helps regrowth. I hope this helps
  8. No worries at all. I did alot of reserch on it and asked my surgeon and he confirmed my findings.
  9. The hairloss is cause ur body goes into shock. U can eat lots of protein and it will not help. 98% of people get it hairloss. I'm now 11 months out and it has finally stopped

    Water makes me nautious

I'm 11 months out tomorrow. I had trouble with water from day 1! My surgeon said to me that first day to have cordial in the water as it will help. In saying that since month 6 I have been fine with plain water. But I still have to have ice in all cold drinks. I just can't have cold out of the fridge temp drinks, they have to be icy!!!

    I HATE WHEN

I'm so with u on this!! I didn't care at all if I stalled. As long as u stay on the plan that was set out u'll be fine. I had my first major stall a month ago (at 10 months) that lasted for 4 weeks. I was like of well my body is just having a break. Now I'm back losing again. I wish there were more people like us thinking like this Cheers Bec

    June 3 sleeved

Wow ur doing so well!!!! I've lost 51.4kgs since pre op. So I'm now 91.1kgs!! I have not been this weight since grade 10 and that was 1995. This was the best thing I have done for myself. Keep up the great work everyone!!!
  14. Hi everyone. I hope u all had a great Easter. I went camping and had the best time. I had energy to go for walks with my hubby and our dogs and even went swimming in the creek which was freezing!!!! Well as of Tuesday I have finally gotten past my stall that I've had for a month. I've now lost 51.4kgs!!! I'm so over the moon with cracking 50kgs! I'm now weighting in at 91.1kgs the lightest I've been since I was in grade 10! On the 3rd of May will be 11 months since my op. I'm very happy with how I have gone and am not worried if I don't get to my goal of 70kgs as I know I will get there. I hope everyone is keeping up the great work and getting their lives back and living it to it's fullest! Have a great weekend (I'm going camping again lol) Cheers Bec
  15. Well done!! That is awesome!!!
  16. Hey Zappo, I remember having that. I found I was taking too much water in my sip lol. If ur really worried just ring ur surgeon Cheers Bec

    Sleeve surgery and PCOS

Well I went for an appointment with an IVF doctor on Thursday. Well he did an enternal ultra sound and has found that I now don't have PCOS but PCO. My ovaries are normal now after losing 49kgs!!! He has done my bloods to check my testosterone levels and the rest. He is very excited to see what the levels are. We are having to go down the line of IUI with the help of Clomid. My hubby works away so IUI is our best option for now. Just like one lady has said u will never be rid of PCOS/PCO. Ur syntoms will reduce but u can't be cured at all. Sorry to say ladies
  18. Congrats on getting ur sleeve!!! Who was ur surgeon? I was sleeved at Sunnybank with Dr Daoud. As long as u follow what ur surgeon and dietician tells u u'll be fine. With panadol just get the dissolveable ones. They taste fine. After about a week I was taking normal panadol. Just keep up the water. But if u are having trouble with plain water put some cordial in it. That's what my surgeon said to do. If u have any questions just ask Cheers Bec
  19. I'm coming up to 10 months post op and I started to get the hunger feel about month 8. It's more the feeling of an empty tummy. But I know I have to eat. The main thing I find is I feel crap if I haven't eatin every few hours. But in saying this I'm statisfied so much quicker. Also the hunger is way different to what it was before the sleeve. For me this has been the best thing I've done

    Perth Sleevers?

Hi guys. I'm from Brisbane but just like reading through the threads. U guys need to do what us in Brisbane and the guys in Sydney do. Just organise a get together at a cafe or even in a park. I personally haven't been able to get to a meet up but am sooo looking forward to. Just an idea. Oh and I so can't wait to get back over the Perth as I love it there
  22. That is awesome Misty!!! Well done. I'm still in my stall but not stressing. What is the new job? It'll be great that u won't be very stressed anymore. I'll be looking for a new job once I'm off compo
  23. Yep it'll be our first baby!! We had been trying now for 4yrs. It's now or never for us. So I hope u will all hear some awesome news soon
  24. Welcome to the newbees Everyone on here are great. I have 2 friends who had the bypass and it seems about the same except they can eat and drink without having to wait. Well I've been in my first ever stall for the last 3 weeks. But I have worked out I have been snacking a bit too much. So that has now stopped. Also last week I hurt my back big time at work so I'm now off work for another 2 weeks. So no exercising I've bern given the ok to walk in the pool so that's something at least. But on an exciting note I'm off to see an IVF doctor next Thursday to find out what will get me pregnant the fastest!!! We have only told my mum and dad as last year I was told I was too fat and I was devo and had to then tell people it was a no go. So I had to tell someone hehe. So it's "watch this space" lol
