mtchick replied to mrsplusamericajacksonville's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Beef in small portions, chewed very, very well has mot given me any troubles. I do not eat the bread though. I'm 6 weeks out. -
I had a very similar experience before my sleeve. This is how I found out I had celiac disease. Now after the sleeve I seem to be more sensitive. Yikes!! Once you have experienced this you will not ever forget!!
-
I'm June 3rd too, down 42 lbs from preop! Love the sleeve! I ate 1/4 of an apple today with about 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. It was delicious!!
-
I had the same problem with reflux at about the same time. I now take 2 famatodine and eat much, much slower!! I was eating to fast!
-
Baby Bel light cheese are one of my staples!
-
I had my surgery on June 3 also. I was hungry while on liquids but now that I'm on purée / soft foods its hard to eat 1/4 cup cottage cheese. I was told not to eat bread yet. I'm not supposed to have crackers until next month. Be careful, don't introduce foods to soon is what I was told. Good luck!

Me too! I'm 2 weekend and I've had 1/4 cup or less of cottage cheese. Fills me up so my new tummy quits rumbling! -

Don't be to hard on yourself! Everyone is different! I'm 10 days post op and feel hungry. I think it's hard to get used to a new way of life after so long. You'll be okay, Hang in there!! -
Regular size I guess, lol. I'm just a food lover! Although had a small forkful of cottage cheese and was full. Sipping Minute Maid light lemonade, OMG to die for!!!
-
Wow! I wasn't in for nearly that long, glad you are doing so well! I the same as you, crazy gut noises. Only I do get hungry. Protein drink, jello and Popsicles are working. Really looking forward to cottage cheese:-). Keep in touch!

June 3rd for me. Feeling nervous! -
With the drippings, then I use potato water (from the mashed potatoes) thickened with cornstarch.

I make my gravy from scratch with cornstarch. My husband loves it! (he is not celiac).

New guy here, you've GOT to read this!
mtchick replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is a great thread, very motivational! I'm on day 5 of liquid only and have tripped up but now I'm "Back on the Wagon"! Thank you Frank!!! -
I have Celiac also, going on 2 years now. I buy most of my gluten free foods from the health food store. It gets easier and easier. Some stuff is pricey, happy to tell you what I have found that is good and bad. Just holler!
-
Great letter! I'm June 3rd also! Good luck!!

Sorry, premature send???? Mydetoxnurse, I had an EGD last year, found out I had Celiac, which means no bouillon cubes (they have wheat). The EGD was wonderful, like a really great restful nap. Prayers to you! Keep in touch, we CAN do this!!
