Thank u....that makes me feel better! I can't stay off the scales either. I tried, but couldn't make it through the day. I want to lose so badly...I just thought it was me! I don't think I'm drinking enough water though ...I'll try that, thanks Susie!

I guess 1-2 pounds per week will have to be ok for me since I do follow the diet faithfully. I haven't even introduced meat yet! Seeing the other 2 ladies at our one week postoperative appt each lose 20 pound in one week, not counting the 13-14 they lost preop, just really got to me when I'd only lost 5. I was told not to compare, but it sure is difficult. I go for my 1 month check-up on 4/8/13 and am of course curious as to how much they have lost. I'm happy to have lost 11 pounds, as of this morning, that's never coming back, but sure wish it was 20!!

I'd like to know if that is normal also. I'm almost 4 weeks postoperative and have lost maybe 12 lbs...I follow the diet faithfully but seems as if mine is going so much slower than everyone else's .....

I drink the whey protein powder, chocolate , from Walmart. It's the best I've tried so far. There is No Way I can drink the kind in the tubes, omg they r gross!! Also, I was told the body can only process 30 grams at a time, so 2 scoops in a cup of water is tolerable and not too bad 3 times per day.."...love the shaker cup!!!

My doc required a 2 week protein preop diet and I lost 5 lbs. I just wish I was one of the folks that lost 14 preop and 20 the first weel postoperative ! I guess I am destined to be a slow loser...

Thanks, Newbie, I'm trying to keep my spirits up and just pray to lose more quickly. All my incisions closed very easily, but it took a few more days for the drain hole to close. I just put a medicated bandaide on it and that seemed to help. I have had NO problems at all since leaving the hospital . In the hospital I had extreme nausea and pain under my collar bones...after that, it's all been smooth sailing...I've been very lucky. My surgery date was 3-8-13 and I have lost 12 lbs. that's 12 that are never coming back!!

That's a good way to think of it plus I need to exercise. I will be post op 3 weeks on Friday and ive lost 10 as of this morning. I wonder if I'm drinking too many shakes per day for 70 grams of protein???
