    Cereal and granola question

Just an update..I found "Bare Naked Fit" granola in the cereal aisle..low fat (2.5gm), 22 carbs, 4gm protein in 1/4 cup...I use less, just a spoonful in my yogurt and it helps with the need for the crunch!

HUNGRY A LOT OF THE TIME?

I am constantly hungry too! I eat every 2 hours or so, drink as much liquids as my eyeballs can hold, get in plenty of protein, and still have those tummy rumbles. What's the best acid reducer? Ive never taken one..Thanks!

    Carrabas Italian Restaurant

If you are like most of us, you can only eat a few bites..last time I went there, I ordered the crab cake appetizer, with an extra cup of sauce. I ate almost all of one, and took the other home with the cup of sauce for the next day! I always order water with a lemon/lime so I wont be the only one without a drink.

    Cereal and granola question

Thanks guys..didn't think about Kashi..I don't mind the sacrifice later in the day to get a little crunch. I am not minding what I eat so much, I love my chicken salads and taco meat, etc..but sometimes the soft meat stuff gets old!
  6. Dee, I have the spare tire, too, but it is def. getting smaller. I have lost 45 lbs since my surgery 3 months ago, and am afraid my spare tire is turning into a spare flat tire of skin....but it's an ok trade-off because clothes sure do fit much better. May think about the tummy tuck in a year or so...for now, spanx under some stuff..
  7. PS: I used to only be able to buy the shoes, purses, lots of jewelry, so I guess we can justify the clothes by needing them to go with what we already have! (And I donate LOTS of stuff back to them, too, from my son's closet and my own, so it's not really that bad, huh?)
  8. Wow, Vidalia, I feel like deja vu! I think I could have written your post verbatim!! I , too, am going to Goodwill about once a week..and it is so much fun! I have finally been able to wear a med/large, 12/14, and end up buying stuff just because it fits and it's cheap! I am really enjoying finding the great deals, and have snagged some nice name brand stuff! Even a black lace dress for $5! I am having a hard time feeling guilty, though! I have a feeling too much of this is not healthy for us, though! (You know, anything that feels real good usually isn't good for you!) I am laughing at the coincidence of your post, because I had a great Goodwill trip today!

"OH MY GOD, YOU'RE SO SMALL!"

You even sound happy in typed print!! I am so happy for you! Your positive attitude will keep folks around you happy, too!
  10. OK Chick a dee...smile, then put on your big girl panties, because you won't be able to wear them for long!! I have read all the comments back to you. I'm gonna tell you like it IS: The plan for you is NOT your own..God has a plan for you, and it may not be the same as the plan in your head. Trust in Him..you will reach your goal in time...maybe less time, maybe more time, but it WILL come to pass. I am excited for you to have your surgery, and can't wait for you to experience the wonderful loss and new bodies the rest of us are finding! I am 8 weeks out, and have lost 38 pounds since surgery, about 60 since I saw my Doc the first time. If I stopped losing today, I would still be happy with how far I've come. I feel good and look better than I did. I don't know if you realize what a HUGE accomplishment it was for you to do the research and make the decision to have the surgery! You are ready and don't let a little thing like the time it takes to lose it hamper your decision. Even if you lose only 2 lbs a week, in a year, that's over 100 lbs!!!! Keep it in perspective, and know that there are lots of folks cheering for you on this site, as well as your friends at home. Everyone will not have the same opinion of what you are doing, but trust that the Master plan is going to work!!

    March sleevers.. Progress?

ylopez..my day is almost exactly what yours is: Egg beaters/turkey sausage crumbles for breakfast shake mid morning sliced turkey with mustard/cheese for lunch (or I have discovered chicken salad from Chick Fil A if I am out around town. The smallest you can get is a medium, and I eat half and take the other half home for dinner. It goes down good.) greek yogurt for afternoon snack (I can only eat half of the cup) 1/2-3/4 piece fish or 1/2 turkey burger patty with cheese for dinner 1/2 cup taco meat with shredded cheese is real good to me, too..I was missing something with flavor! I also like about 4 shrimp. I dip everything in mustard. i am a little afraid of ketchup, yet, for the sugar. Sometime i wil eat the rest of my yogurt for before bed snack It is VERY hard to get in all the Water they say you need because i am full from meals for about 2 hours, then it's almost time to eat again!

    March sleevers.. Progress?

I thought mine was slow, too, so I searched all over this site for tips..I learned to cut out carbs altogether, except for a little in my yogurt. I upped my water intake, and am sticking with mostly protein..2 shakes a day, sandwich meat, taco meat with a little cheese, turkey sausage with a little egg...My surg. date was 3/19, and I have lost 28lbs..bad stall at week 2, but realized i was eating too much creamed soups and mashed potatoes...and wasn't that how I got this way? This surgery really does a zinger on the way you have to think about EVERYTHING that goes into that little tummy now! Good luck, and just look real close at what's going in..
  14. I am a March 19th..I am eating pretty much the same as everyone else..refried beans, shrimp and broiled fish, chewed well, greek yogurt, egg beaters with turkey sausage mixed in for breakfast, I do miss a fresh salad..don't know when I can have that, but I am really focused on the protein righ now. I also found Chick Fil A will sell their chicken salad in a cup for about $3. It makes 2-3 meals for me! Pudding and jello is getting old. i do eat lunch meat with a little grated cheese and squirt of mustard in it (my version of a ham sandwich!) Y'all share some more ideas! im learning a lot from this site!

    Protien shakes

Try Chike..you can google them, then call the 800 number and they will send you some samples. I got the choc, vanilla, and strawberry, and they are sort of like a milkshake. Taste is good, not gritty, and it comes in dry powder you can take with you and mix with water on the go. One serving is about 28 grams of protien. Try it, you'll like it!
  16. Im at the 2 week plateau, too, and doing everything by the "book"...any suggestions? (although I must say I am happy with losing 14 pounds in 14 days!) But now i have stalled out! Anybody got a jump start suggestion for us? I started walking again yesterday.....

    In hospital need help

And CarrieP..don't forget..."We have disguised major surgery with tiny incisions"..(my doc said that the next morning, and it sort of gave me the permission to feel like crap!) You (we) have had major surgery and it's ok and expected to feel bad. I promise it gets better!

    In hospital need help

I quickly signed up for this forum, just so I could answer you...I am at home surfing the web. I am day 7 post op, and just beginning to feel human. The day of surgery, i had the worst sharp chest pains, not nausea, and they explained it was the air pumped into me from the surgery, and that it would dissipate and go away. After much pain meds, and GETTING UP a few slow times, it did. They told me the truth. The next morning, however, the NAUSEA hit like gang busters. They also told me it would go away in a day..it really did, but they kept alternating Phenergan and Zofran every few hours for about 24 hours. When I was awake, I made myself get up and take a slow walk, go pee, and go back to bed to sleep. I made it through that 24 hours, but it felt like days..The best advice I can give is to make yourself get up, walk SLOWLY, and go back to bed. I promise it will pass..they told me the truth, and now I am at home, no pain, no nausea, but just moving slow from no energy! (from no calories!!) GOOD LUCK!! You can do it..it won't be much longer!
