lets be honest, 1 week post op

There was NO WAY I could have eaten regular food. No way what so ever. I think the farthest I went was one egg and three very small bites of cottage cheese all chewed to liquid consistency, and that was only because we went out to eat for Mothers Day. -

People do have a tendency to blast others on here don't they! Im pre surgery April 29th is my date. I think there are so many emotions that go into all this no one ever has the right answers. Hope you get through this just fine though! I'm rooting for you!

Hi Everyone, Well 4/3/2013 was my approval day!! YAY! Surgery is set for 4/24/2013. I'm feeling a bit excited and looking forward to getting this over with. Sure will be nice to be thin again. But most importantly it will be nice to be HEALTHY I'm looking forward to hiking again without heavy breathing, and to a half hour on the elliptical, and to fitting into a pair of jeans with a zipper again, to not being the fat girl in the pictures with friends and loved ones anymore. I'm wondering how those of you six months in are doing and how much weight you've lost already? What do you eat now? How does it make you feel? Do certain things make you sick?

I'm wondering how those of you six months in are doing and how much weight you've lost already? What do you eat now? How does it make you feel, for instance do certain things make you sick? Can you have a "regular" diet, I mean eat whatever you want just very small portions of it? How do you keep from stretching out your pouch?

Hello All, Well I just took in everything my PCP needs to sign the clearance form, from there I go to approval stage and then surgery date. I'm excited and nervous. I've been overweight since I was 23 after the birth of my son, I was 110 when I got pregnant. I'm 5'3 and 212 right now, diabetic, and sick and tired of being fat, sick, and tired! I know what it's like to be thin and let me tell you the way people treat you when you are overweight is awful. It's true, it's not in your imagination, they are treating you condescendingly, rudely, and sometimes downright awful. And it bugs me that "thin" people have this pre disposed opinion that you eat copious amounts of fast food on a daily basis, do not excercise, and drink soda constantly. I love this one, "You should try eating more vegetables." Don't you want to lose "THE WEIGHT". HATE that one "THE WEIGHT", damn it's so shaming. In fact my diet right now is not that bad and frankly I'm a little concerned that I will be one of those people that will take a year to lose 50 lbs. If any of you have had a "slow loser" experience can you tell me what you have done to fascilitate weight loss.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
TheAbsoluteJoy replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, I think watching my dad struggle with his diabetes the later part of his life really clinched the deal for me. I didnt want to have to take insulin shots. The next thing would be that I would like to take pictures with my loved ones without being self conscious. I never want to take pictures with my boyfriend, my son, or anyone because of my weight. It's a bummer for them. A movie theater seat is getting close to being to small to sit in. Mostly I am doing this for my health and my future. -
