Tomorrow is my sleeve day and the first day of emotional healing..
MsVictorious1020 replied to Cat360's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whew what a beautifully honest post. You will do awesome on this next journey of your life. You are mentally prepared and self aware. And it sounds like you have an amazing partner and husband who lives you very much. Not all of us are so blessed. Keep in mind the first two days postop are the worst you will see and you will feel so much better afterwards. Everyone heals differently but I'm 18 days out and I haven't felt this good in a long while. I have more energy and I feel lighter not just physically but emotionally. I barely have any scars from incisions and my body is reshaping itself. You will get there one step at a time. Just be kind to yourself, patient and follow doctors orders. :-) so very happy for you. Keep up the good work. -

You are very welcome. That's what we're here for.to help each other. -
I'm so overwhelmed right now. I had my 1st week postoperative visit and I ended up in the ER for dehydration/ exhaustion. So folks this is serious. Please whatever you do drink your required fluids. I had been having issues with discomfort and also fear of drinking too much at once. Which is what eventually led to my dehydration. So please take care of yourself. Also because of this my surgeon has me on clear liquids too. I cannot advance to the next phase. :-(

Yes I am only 18 days post op but feeling great. I can't officially workout yet but I can walk as much as I want so I'm doing it. I need to get these pounds off.
-
Well I'm doing pretty good post op. I went walking in a nature preserve during the day. Then went to the gym and did some power walking for 25 minutes. I feel good and I'm determined to get these pounds off.

Thanks all. :-) I'm so excited to be back in the swing of things.

Awesome tip thx. -
Ok so I have to admit I was really really discouraged at the slight stall I experienced this week. I didn't lose any weight all week!!! Grrr. In fact I gained 3.5 pounds when they pumped me full of IV fluids. But today I stepped on the scale and BAM down 3 pounds again. I guess all the walking and running around has paid off this week. I'm feeling so much better about myself and this surgery. So I decided I needed to go for a brisk walk. So I put on some new workout clothes I bought over a year ago and have never worn. And it fits!!! Plus my tummy has gone down quite a bit! While the scales aren't showing much progress. My body is. I just have to keep walking walking walking. Ill get there. So if any of you have been stalled or down this week stay strong you will get there. We are all in this together! Just take in all your fluids/protein and walk your worries away!!!

Down 17 Pounds!
MsVictorious1020 replied to MsVictorious1020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Starting weight 208 current weight 190. I'm short and curvy so my weight distributes pretty well but I'm still very big for my height. It's just not as evident to others. I can't wait to get down to 135. I'm only 5'3". -
Woohoo! Congrats girl. That's awesome. I'm so ready to not fit my clothes anymore. My NSV this week was having sex with my husband. He hadn't touched me in months and he hasn't initiated sex in almost 2 years. So him being turned on by me made me literally cry. I know it sounds pathetic but I was happy to be wanted again. :-)

Choose NOT to tell people you had WLS
MsVictorious1020 replied to jensjoy28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love this post. Thank you for your honesty and convictions. While we don't live in an idealistic, kind world it takes very strong courageous people to stand up to society and shut them up! I was wishy washy at first about telling people. #1 because I was so ashamed I had gotten to the point of needing it. #2 out of fear of what people would say/think about me. The night before surgery I "came out" on Facebook. I felt an outpouring of positive feedback. If there were negative comments, nobody posted them. I've had to face too many adversities in life to back down now. There are so many stigmas and stereotypes associated with obesity and WLS but if we boldly press on we can break the stereotypes. We can help others form new opinions and an awareness of the vicious disease that is obesity. I've had to face stigmas associated with bipolar disorder being diagnosed in 2007 and now obesity and WLS. I'm here to kick my fat @$$ into shape and take names. I'm so thankful for my sleeve. It's the best friend I've made in a long time. -

Woohoo! Congratulations! What an inspiration. Don't sweat "coming out" you will be shocked by the positive feedback you will receive and if you receive any negative chalk it up to HATERADE!!! I hope to inspire someone some day to grab hold of their health and take better care of themselves.

Warning TMI alert! OMG! I'm not sure if its because of the weight loss but tonight for the first time in over 2 years my husband came onto me! He initiated sex all on his own and he had no trouble getting "prepared". I'm literally in tears over the shock and excitement. He never initiates sex nor does he show any desire to be with me. Maybe it was the weight loss or maybe the new dress but he NOTICED me and actually liked it. I can't believe it. I'm still in shock. We had hot sweaty sex before I almost had a heart attack. Lmbo. I didn't want to freak him out and start crying.

I have a figure?

:-) I know right. -
Who knew. Somewhere underneath all this flub was a waist and curves. It's been so long since I've seen them I forgot they were there. While I haven't lost as much in pounds as I wanted. The inches are starting to show. I'm excited to see my body transforming. How about you?
