They prescribed me a anti nausea med. it dissolved under you tongue. I took it just on case. I am now on Prilosec (pill form). I have another two months of this med. I was also just prescribed a gallbladder stone med. my surgeon asked if I still have my gallbladder and then wrote a script. I am now 30 days post opt. I have lost 33lbs since surgery and 41 since pre opt diet. -

Recipe ideas for the puree stage...

The buffalo chicken recipe is great, Puréed chili is fantastic Mashed potato's with Protein powder mixed in is good. I have also puréed my chicken with some salsa and cheese. It was really good. Add a sprinkle of Protein Powder to all you puree's. this will help your protein count. Get a non flavor protein. -
I hate protein shakes!

I do really well with the chocolate premier, but make a good smoothie. I use a scoop of Isopure powder (no flavor). I use a chobani yogurt (any flavor I want). This adds more protien. I also can add a vegtable or fruit. I have a vitamix which does an amazing job on smoothies and puréed food -
I hurt my husband's feelings
golfer1204 replied to roriep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your husbands life should not stop. My wife didn't need the surgery. I don't expect her to change her way of life. She supports my decision on getting the sleeve and my new eating habits. -
Pureed diet post op day 2
golfer1204 replied to asmaclare's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 23 days post opt. I didn't start puréed stage until day 21 (3 weeks). I did really well on my full liquid phase. I lost 15lbs first week, 8 lbs 2 week, and 5 the 3rd week. The puréed phase is awhile different beast, you get full so quick -
2 questions Can I have a small cup of coffee with Splenda and cream? What does everyone take for headaches?

I am 11 days post opt. I pretty much experienced all the same things. I am greeting in 3 protein drinks a day plus liquid. I am excited for the purée phase, but will be real happy with the soft food phase. I lost 15 lbs in my one week check up. I was very surprised when I got on the scale. -
New to this site... Tricare Prime
golfer1204 replied to Pajones08's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Tricare doesn't cover the sleeve (sorry) -
My doctor told me nothing for 3 weeks, very important mark for your staple line to heal. You should also not lift more than 15lbs up to 6 weeks

PEOPLE WHO ONLY DID 3 day liquid pre op diet
golfer1204 replied to rollargirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Little moe to add, after surgery walk, walk walk. This seems to be one thing everyone has in common. I was really surprised having hardly any pain from the surgery. Gas pains are the worst. Walking will help a lot. I didn't use my pain meds when I left the hospital. I do however take a liquid Prilosec and a anti nausea med. these are two very helpful meds. Check with your doctor in Mexico to see if you get these. -
PEOPLE WHO ONLY DID 3 day liquid pre op diet

I have no hunger pains, but I am less than 2 weeks out. The VSG is the ultimate tool for my weight loss. I went to all my classes and did all my researching. I was a BMI of 37, but had a secondary condition. There is no American doctor that would do a BMI of 30. I will say this, it's your body and your paying for it, you can do what ever you want. I am sure in the long run after the surgery you will feel better about yourself. It should be noted that their is a huge psychological part to this surgery. Good luck and make sure you come back to the forum to give us updates -

I stayed on Clear liquids for 5 days after surgery. I am having success with premier Protein shakes. I put them in a glass full of ice. The colder the better. I have also found sugar free Popsicles Sit with me really well. Good luck
