Besides weight loss, what has been the biggest benefit since getting surgery?
Wayless replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Health, moblity, increased paricipation and less of a spectator, less self conscious and more self confident. It's a blessing. -

Weight regain & non-supportive family members
Wayless replied to Texas Belle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Look Texas Bell let me say I see the pic a little differently from you and maybe that's because I'm 56 years old. You have everything going for you. You are strong and courageous. You took hold of your weight problem at a young age, how I wish I had done that. You are educating yourself and completing a degree, education is by far the greatest gift you can give yourself. Before you know it you will have degree and fiancial independence and your health!!!!!!!!!!! Don't get discouaged, I Ilved with a mom who had depression her whole life, it's difficult but it shouldn't define you. You can overcome it all, you are already more successful then most people dream of being. Keep your head, know who you are and just keep moving forward. Don't underestimate yourself and the power of prayer. God Speed. -

I went on a ten day road trip with my family and was happy at tne end to be down five pounds, but the best part was how I was able to do all the activities along with everyone else, no longer a spectator. I'm so happy I got sleeved almost five months ago and seventy pounds less has had a dramatic impact on my energy and physical ability. I still have a long way and I will get there because I am stronger everyday. Anyone else surprise themselves while on vacation?

Not until you're done with beer, just kidding. You should check with your doctor but I have had an occasional glass of wine since I was three months out.

We wii make mistakes and we will get past them, that is the new way. Previously we made mistakes and they put us in a downward spiral. You will be okay, you need to believe in yourself. -

HELP! Can't Lose Weight!
Wayless replied to nashiemmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be patient with yourself, I get regular stalls, even early on and each time I get down myself. Then the scale moves again and I feel my confidence return. Almost 65 pounds in 4 1/2 months, I may not be the fastest loser but I could never have done this without my sleeve. -
What a fabulous job you have done. Congratulations and God Speed
