Thank you for posting the pics! You look AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, and SO HAPPY and HEALTHY! Love your kitty too! Thank you also for sharing you diet and exercise info. I need to find me a yoga class! I'm struggling with getting in the exercise, partly a schedule issue and partly I just don't wanna! LOL! Guess I'm lazy by nature. I do enjoy walking and biking and have a gym membership but have trouble getting consistent in my work-out efforts. I have a lot of arthritis and that can hold me back too. I'm only 6 weeks post-op and my weight loss has already slowed down to a crawl, just 1 lb a week. If I hadn't been sleeved I be OK with that but now I want it to go faster! Of course I know I need to work at this a little harder than I have been, especially with getting more exercise. Your journey has really helped to inspire me! Blessings to you! Me too. I am trying to eat more solid Protein cuz that's what my Dr. wants me to do so I feel full longer. I can eat fish and chicken. I'm afraid to eat beef but I have a nice steak in the freezer so I'll try it pretty soon. Just try to chew very thoroughly and eat slowly. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I have big thighs too but I have bad knees so the squats, lunges etc are out for me. Any other thigh muscle building ideas are greatly appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using VST

WOW! That's a phenomenal weight loss! Congratulations! This forum is great source of information. I had my surgery on February 28th and have lost 37 lbs. How are you feeling now? It took me about a month to feel like I had any energy. Are you doing any exercising? I started to last week but haven't gotten consistent with it yet. My schedule is too crazy. It got hot yesterday and my ankles got swollen just as though I'd never had the surgery! I was hoping this issue would go away for me since my weight has come down. maybe that is an unrealistic expectation. does anyone else experience this? I hate having swollen ankles! Any advice? I likened post-op to having been on an all-night bender that ended in a bar brawl! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Not sure how long post-op you are or your height but 1000 cals seems like a reasonable intake to me. If you have a NUT you could consult with them. I am at about 1200 cals a day and my Dr. and NUT are happy with that. My only comment regarding the shakes is I make mine with 1 cup skim milk a about 4 ice cubes and use a bullet blender. Then it's like a milk shake. That cuts about 90 cals from the shake. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Hi fellow tall sleevers! I am 6'1" and was 325 pre-op and 288 this morning so down 37 lbs 6 weeks post-op. I hope to reach 220 eventually. I am very shapely but carry most of my weight in my butt, hips and thighs. I also am hypo-thyroid so I expect my weight-loss to be slower than some. Now that I'm starting to eat more types of food it has already slowed to about 1.5 lbs a week as apposed to 4.5 a week. Kinda bummed by the slower loss rate but as long as I'm losing it's OK. I think it's true people often don't realize that a tall body can carry a lot of extra weight and not look like people's idea of what "fat" people look like. I had a couple of nurses who were involved in my pre-op testing say that I didn't look "fat enough" for the surgery. But my BMI definitely qualified me. I try very hard not to compare my weight or weight-loss to others but it happens inevitably. Right now I think I've left the honeymoon stage and am in the nitty-gritty stage of having to work at my weight loss. Pre-sleeve I would have been sabotaging myself by now! Introduction - Hello every one
Chelenka replied to acummins73's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You may not be getting enough Water which could be causing your headaches. The water is really more important than food! Regarding cravings, yes I still have cravings! At 6 weeks post-op I'm cleared to eat all types of food. I found I could eat a little cake and ice cream at my Dad's birthday last weekend! It tasted great but points out the obvious, that this surgery it a great weight-loss tool but isn't a cure to one's issues with food. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
I'm New To the VST
Chelenka replied to BullRidinMomma2011's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome! My surgery was on Feb. 28th so I'm 6 weeks post op and have lost 37 lbs (which includes the pre-op diet stage). You have a lot going for you that will help you succeed. You are young, and have a good support system. I would caution you though to not expect to lose a certain amount of weight in a certain time (for you wedding). While it's good to have a goal to strive for it can also be a set up for disappointment if you don't reach that goal in the time that you want. Everyone's experience with this surgery is different and your experience will be unique to you. Just try to follow your Dr.'s pre-op and post-op instructions as carefully as you can. I think you will be very happy with your choice in the ling run. I wish surgery had been available when I was your age! Although I probably wouldn't have been brave enough to do it then! Blessings to you! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
No I haven't seen the Eggos with protein yet. Thanks for letting me know about them. I like Vans organic waffles. They make gluten free varieties as well. They are more expensive but worth it cuz they taste much better in my opinion. The ricotta cheese has protein. I usually have a Protein shake as a mid-morning snack. Sent from my iPhone using VST

This has been my favorite breakfast of late, one lite toaster waffle topped with about 2 tablespoons of low fat ricotta cheese and some jam. Cook in toaster oven for about 5 minutes or until the ricotta cheese puffs up. You can use sugar-free preserves if you want. Peanut Butter is also good on a toaster waffle or english muffin in the morning. Sent from my iPhone using VST

3 weeks out and long lost period suddenly makes a comback1 Ugg
Chelenka replied to socks4's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would call your Dr. both your surgeon and GYN. Menopause can be funny like that though but get medical attention just to be safe. Don't miss my period at all! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
I'm four weeks out and have been out to eat twice so far. Last night we went to an Italian restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday. I tried a little bread and a small sip of wine but it tasted funny to me. I ordered soup for my meal and ate about half. Then everyone ordered dessert and I order gelato. It was a small portion and I had no trouble eating it. Sigh. Just cuz I've been sleeved doesn't mean I don't have to think about my choices anymore.
