    Natural Peanut Butter

I have Peanut Butter once in while. It's a good source of MUSF and OK in moderation within your calorie budget. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

    Pre Op Diet Disaster

No. Just get back on track and stick with it like it's your new religion from now til your surgery. However, if you can't get thru the pre-op diet without cheating you may not be ready to do this. It is a huge commitment and massive lifestyle shift that you are enforcing on yourself. Ask yourself if you are truly ready to take it on. If not, wait until you are ready. I looked into getting the lap band two years ago and backed out two weeks prior to the surgery date. I just wasn't psychologically ready. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

    Started on real food!

Totally normal so soon post-op. don't panic. Try having a scrambled egg or cottage cheese for Breakfast. If it feels uncomfortable stop eating. It will take your new tummy a little while to learn to digest the food. Also, be sure to drink your Water as that will help keep things moving. I got so horribly constipated in the beginning and that will definitely shut down your appetite. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

    Heartburn!

I take a nexium before bed. Also recently started taking 1 tbsp of organic apple cider in a large glass of Water, first thing in the morning with all my meds and supplements. The organic apple cider (has to be organic with the "mother" little floaties in it) helps replenish the good flora and fauna in your gut. It's an old-fashioned remedy but it has definitely helped calm down my reflux issues. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2
  6. Glad your hip feels better. Have you had any PT for you back? Just curious because I have stenosis and some other low back issues and arthritis in my left hip and both knees. Jeesh, I'm falling apart! But I digress, I have worked with a great chiropractor and done a lot of PT for my back and it really helped me but you have to be very diligent and patient. It took about a year. I only use arthritis strength Tylenol at night. Also some I sometimes use topical pain rubs, Sombra and there is a Epsom Salt cream which you can find at Walmart or online. I also find ice packs and just resting can help and when things are acting up. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2
  7. I haven't lost a lot of hair, thus far. Hoping that I skip that side-effect of the surgery. I am wondering is it is because I seem to be eating more calories, 1200 approx., compared to many. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

You are TOTALLY sexy! Congrats on your success! Sorry your heart has been broken but I have a feeling you will meeting many women who will be interested in getting to know you. Take your time and enjoy the attention your new body and confidence will bring. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2
  9. It is my biggest fear but the bypass just wasn't a good option for me so I went with the sleeve. People fail at the bypass too. There is no fail-proof weight loss surgery. You still have to deal with whatever it is that makes you want to over eat. You still have to work at it. It's not a magic bullet. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

    Gerd.

I had it pre-surgery and still have it post-surgery. It was worse in the beginning and has gotten less problematic. I take nexium twice a day and also recently started drinking a glass of Water with one Tbsp organic apple cider vinegar in the morning. I think that has helped alleviate the reflux a great deal. My Dr did say that if it became a serious problem for mr the fix was doing a revision surgery to the gastric bypass. I don't plan on going there. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

    Sleeve stretch?

I am only 4&1/2 months post-op but I can definitely eat more volume that I could a month ago. I have a carb-demon too. I consider it an addiction really. The surgery doesn't cure that, dammit! LOL! However, I've done pretty well thus far by tracking my food intake using the Lose It! App on my phone. I keep track of the calories but also the ratio of Protein, fat and carbs. I find when my pie chart is almost equally divided into thirds between protein, fat and carbs with a bit more going to the protein I seem to lose at a steadier rate. When the carbs, especially my addiction, sugar and simple carbs, creep up too high it slows things down. The fact that I can eat more already really scares me because my biggest fear is that I'll have gone thru this surgery, lose a ton of weight and then gain it all back. AAAARGH! pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2
  12. Darlene! Congratulations! You look AMAZING!!! I love it that you now weigh less than your husband. I've got a few more pounds to go before I can say that but I'm closing in on him! 14. Richard: your health insurance deductible really sucks! But it won't cost you $8000 to call you Dr and tell him/her what is going on. Nor will it cost that much for an office visit. Also please try to get to a support group if you can. You sound very down and the support groups are usually free. you might get some helpful information. you got the surgery cuz you wanted better health but you still have to take charge of your health both physical and mental, even if it costs you some money to do so. Good health is priceless! Hang in there! pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

    Why you chose the sleeve

I looked into getting the Lap band about 1&1/2 years ago, got to the point of scheduling the surgery and chickened out. Then this past November I decided to look into WLS again and found out about the sleeve. It appealed to me because there is no foreign object in your body, the potential complications are not nearly as scary as the band, it works better for long-term weight-loss on par with the RNY bypass. it's a permanent choice though pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

    Any Pennsylvania Sleevers?

Hi: I live in the Philly suburbs. Good to know about meetings in the area. My surgery was done at the new Einstein Montgomery hospital and they are just starting a meeting next week, which I plan to attend. Let ya'll know how it goes. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2
  17. I think what you tell people is a personal decision. I have been very open about having had surgery but told very few people (only very close friends and immediate family) prior to my surgery. I waited until I had my surgery date to tell my parents because I thought my Mom would be very worried and upset and try to talk me out of it. I also had concerns with my brother and thought he wouldn't be supportive but to my surprise they were all supportive and no one tried to dissuade me. Guess they figured I needed the help of the surgery to lose the weight, and of course that is true. Once I was about a month post-op I put it on facebook so deffinitely not a secret! LOL! I am appalled by some people's experiences of such hateful negativity from so-called friends, co-workers and family members. I haven't experienced any negativity at all. I am proud of my choice and speak openly about itis someone asks me. It takes courage and determination to go through with the surgery and even more determination to stay on track once you are fully healed and as you can begin to eat a bit more. This is just my experience, thus far. As I said, everyone has to decide for themselves who, what, when and if they tell others about their surgery. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

I don't see why not but maybe you should try it for a short time, 15 mins or so and see how you feel. If your incisions are healed you are probably OK but you might want to ask your Dr. Just to be sure. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2

    Water pill

I was on a diuretic for many years which I stopped after my surgery because I was having trouble staying hydrated. You should really ask your Dr that prescribed the medication especially is it was meant to help keep your BP down. Getting enough Water is crucial! pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2
  24. I think I'm in a weight-loss stall. Lost a little, .4 this week and last week too. Very frustrating as I'm so close to reaching the 60lbs milestone. Aaaasaargh!!! I've been working out a bit more than I was but it's pretty sporadic. The big problem is that I feel hungry now a lot more than I did a month ago. I want to eat and I am struggling with that urge. Sometimes it's definitely emotional but sometimes I just feel hungry, dammit!!! I having a hard time staying at 1200 calories and it keeps creeping up. I thought this surgery would make the constant hunger go away! Feeling frustrated and discouraged at the moment. pre-surgery weight 325; surgery date 2/28/2013; surgery weight 307; 8 weeks past-op weight 281.4; 12 weeks post-op 274; 4 month post-op 266.2
