To Curvy: more re: the bicycle seat; what everyone else said is true but I found I needed a slightly wider seat to accommodate my wide pelvic bones! TMI sorry! LOL! It took trying several different seats till I found the one I have on my bike now. The difference in the width is only about 3/4 inch on each side but it made a big difference in my comfort on long rides. Ironically my bike seat is designed specifically for men. I find the really skinny and hard bike seats like on the spin bikes to be extremely uncomfortable. It feels like it's gonna go where the sun don't shine! Again, sorry if that's TMI every body!

Mrs. Butter is awesome!!! My hubby and I got in a 2.6 mile walk this morning bringing my total to 39.6. I was hoping to be a 50 miles by now but the rainy weather and work schedule have kept me from bicycling. Wah, wah, wah! I miss my bicycle!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Great job! -

Plus, I made them to take to a party and were a big hit! People were quite surprised to learn that zucchini was one of the main ingredients.

http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2013/05/31/healthy-chocolate-fudge-zucchini-brownies/ I have been craving brownies. I found this recipe and made them yesterday. Very rich and chocolaty! My husband even liked them! One small piece was enough to satisfy me. She also has a pumpkin version that I am going to try.

Nope, you don't taste the zucchini.

Got in 30 mins on the weight machines. I hate them so I have to make myself do it! Did 15 mins (.6 of a mile) of fast walking on the treadmill, interspersed with a couple of 30 second pathetic attempts at running. Then rode 6.6 miles on the stationary bike. Brings my total to 37 miles I think. To those of you who run on a treadmill at what point in your weight loss did you start running? I have bad knees but I keep dreaming of running. I guess to me it symbolizes freedom.

I had my surgery on 2/28/13 at the age of 53. It is the BEST thing I've ever done for my health. It has been like being reborn! Any surgery has risks and the two weeks pre-op on the liquid diet and first month or so post-op weren't easy but it was ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!

A slider food is any food that slides down easily and doesn't make you feel full. Some examples are frozen yogurt, pop corn, potato chips. Slider foods ate dangerous because they usually taste good and are easy to overeat and thus defeating the purpose of the sleeve surgery.

Just buy a few. I bought several boxes of quest bars cuz I loved them at first but after eating them for a while they started to make me nauseous and now I hate them. I like some of the pure protein bars.

Thank you! My first selfie!

2 miles on the elliptical machine this morning. It took about 45 mins. That's the longest time I've ever used that machine.
-
7.3 miles on the stationary bike and 1/2 hour of weight machines. My miles total 27.8. I'm shooting for 125 total for this month.

Everyone is doing so grwat! I feel like such a slug cuz I haven't had a chance since last Thursday to get any exercise. But we took a 3 me walk today so that puts me at 20.5 miles so far. I hope I can keep up. My work schedule has become a little crazy working two part-time jobs.

Work Dinner- 3 weeks Post-op- Yikes!
Chelenka replied to AvaFern's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The wine will probably make you feel sick so early on post-op and be very irritating to your stomach. I think you should inform your boss, or whoever is the host of the dinner, that you can't eat very much and can only have a sip or two of wine. Telling him or her why is up to you. I definitely couldn't eat steak at three weeks out and still have trouble with it at 7 months post op. You can probably eat a little soup at the dinner and maybe shrimp or a little fish but be very careful or you might get the slimes which would be very embarrassing. Good luck! -
Lynette: make sure you are drinking enough water pre, during, and post-workout, and stretch out pre and post workout. Also, getting in your calcium and magnesium helps with avoiding cramping. I use a topical pain reliever called Sombra on sore muscles and knees, back, wherever, that you can buy on Amazon. A lot less stinky than Ben Gay. Also an Epsom salts bath helps or if that's not an option for you I understand there is an Epsom salts cream that you can get at Walmart. I haven't tried that yet but my massage therapist likes it.
