Hi all..I haven't posted in awhile. My highest weight before surgery was 348...surgery day weight was 333...weight at last doctors visit on June 5th was 254.....total since I started Lap Band journey...94lbs....I feel like a new person. 6 more pounds to reach 100 pounds. I never dreamed this could really happen to me. I get so many compliments, people actually speak to me when I am out, I get checked out by men.....how weird is that. I fit into booths, am proud to go out to events at my husbands work, no more hiding for me, my head is up, I can wear cuter clothes, no more granny floral outfits. I just feel like a whole new smaller, happier person.........

Feeling No restriciton and FUSTRATED!
Kayemarie replied to zippyz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The scale will more...what happened to me was that I lost 26lbs on the presurgery diet. They weighted me the morning before surgery and then again before I left the hospital. I had GAINED almost 10lbs....I was so mad, so I spent the next 2 weeks geting off what I gained in the hospital. I am sure from all the fluids they pump in. I am now almost 5 months out and I have lost 65lbs with no fills as of yet. I have done very well with no fill but I am starting to feel like maybe the time is coming for a small fill. Hope this helps....don't feel frustrated your body has to adjust to it's new way of life and being fed. KErri -

Please help me with protiens!!!
Kayemarie replied to Bamalama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go to supplement warehouse.com and order you some liquid protein. I had the same problem until someone told me about the whey. They come in 3oz size. They are thick like jello water so I add 3oz of water to them in a cup. It tastes great, goes down easy and you only need to get in 18 more grams of protein. They are alos great tot take anywhere in your purse, no refrigeration needed. Good luck it gets easier, Kerri:clap2: -
Hi - Just Banded 10/22/07
Kayemarie replied to sdl1980's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi...I was banded on September 19th and am down 48lbs :clap2:since I started my liquid diet on September 4th. I use the IDS liquid whey protein the 42g. The fruit punch is delicious and the grape is also pretty good. It is kind of thick like jello water so I cut it a bit with water. You can get it from smoothie king to try but I order it online buying 2 cases at a time. I order it from supplementwarehouse.com. It doesn't smell bad unless something is wrong with it. Good luck :Dthis has been the best thing I ever did for myself. I have felt fabulous, no nausea, pain or hunger. It has been a blessing. Good luck, Kerri -
Hi I was banded at 11:30am at Ochsner by Dr. Richardson on the same day as you on September 19th. I went for my first post op viist yesterday with Richardson yesterday at 10:45am but didn't actually see him until 12:50pm. All went well and I have lost 37.1 pounds. I was so excited. I have felt great worse pain was in the hospital in recovery having the IV potassium, I needed over 6 units because my potassium was really, really low. How long did youi have to stay in the hospital. I was in revocery for 30 hours and in a room for only 2 hours then they let me go home. This has been the easiest surgery so far. I was back at work the Wednesday after my surgery. I did however gain 9lbs when I weighed before I left the hospital. That stunk but it is gone now. January 07 Sept 4/07 Surgery Day 9/19/07 Today 348.5 315.5 -33 282.1 -33.4 276.5 -5.6 Total weight loss so far........72lbs since January

I was banded on the 19th and I feel great, no problems, never even took pain meds as of yet, but yes gassy, alot of rumbling and gurgling.....but i'll take that.....swallowing well, only had potassium issues, low potassium taking nasty pills dissolved in jello water to bring it back up....:clap2:

Pins and needles in thigh?
Kayemarie replied to Leena's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too am having the pins and needles/numbness in my outer thigh area on only the right thigh. I had an extremely low potassium level post op and my daughter who is a nurse said this may be the cause, or it could be where they had you strapped on the table during surgery. I had my surgery on Wednesday the 19th......Good luck!!1 Walking does help.... -
Banded 9/17/07 - Very thirsty..Help!
Kayemarie replied to JAR's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Wednesday and haven't thrown up one time. I had one or two slight waves of nausea in recovery but that passed quickly and I still haven't thrown up. I have really worried about throwing up and band slippage. I am drinking small amounts at a time, like 3 ounces in 15 to 30 minutes. I feel pretty great to be honest I feel so blessed. Good Luck!! -
