    never lost weight

Unless you drink nothing buy crisco and milkshakes I don't think it is possible to not lose. I still don't exactly follow things to a fault.. I will eat some things that are "bad foods" but I can eat so little that exercise negates it anyway. I'm sure other post sleevers will testify that it is much easier to make better food choices post op because you can only take in so little you don't get to the bad stuff if you start out with the good (protein)

    Food

Same here.. Chopped, eat street, mystery diners, giving you the buisiness, I don't watch the strait up cooking shows with the exception of not my momma's meals.

    Camping recipes

Depends on what stage you are on. If you give us some more details I'm sure the guru's here can give you some great ideas. Chili though could work with most stages..

    crushed medication postop

Honestly, I couldn't do them crushed.. My doc said capsules where fine to take, and my one pill that is a solid he said to just break in half.. I have to take 2 of them a day so I just would take them 1/2 at a time 4 times a day for the first week then I was able to take them like normal after that.. Ask your doc for his advise, but I could NOT deal with crushed pills or open capsules at all.

    Food

Yea, I'm on that bandwagon too.. I watch tons of food network and cooking channel shows.. My wife always asks how I can watch that and not want to eat.. I just like it.. I used to watch a couple back in the day, but now it's just seriously nuts how many I watch.. lol

    Hunger?

The first 6 weeks it is a bit of a learning thing.. There is lots of gas, and your stomach is pissed off at you on top of it.. lol It gets easier as time goes on.. I do tend to have to remind myself to eat at my stage (3 1/2 months) hunger is a different feeling then it used to be.. I don't even know how to accurately describe it...

    Alcohol ..

mgd 64 is carbonated, not sure that's a good idea.. I think beer is out.. I stick to shots or mixed drinks.. Deserano and pineapple are good, if I want something a little stronger Vodka and pineapple, cranberry, or orange juice.

    I hate food

best thing to do is take a step back.. Your stomach just might not be ready to move up yet.. Also take it very slow with very small amounts.

    Pace

Yep, pre-op tests. Mine was meeting the anesthesiologist, they did an EKG, drew blood, did blood pressure, listened to my lungs and a couple of other things. It took about an hour. If they find any issues they will alert your surgeon. They found an abnormality with my EKG so I had to have my primary doctor give me clearance. He just looked at an old EKG and saw the same thing and said nothing was wrong and it is just the way my heart beats.. I dunno.. My mom always said I marched to the beat of a different drummer.. I didn't know she meant it literally.. lol
  11. Don't panic about loosing a ton of weight on the liquid diet. You will lose some, but it's mostly to shrink your liver. Once you are sleeved, you will do great as long as you stick with it and make the best food choices you can..
  12. you will see crazy amounts come off in the first month, at least I did.. at 4 months out I now lose about an average of 3-5 lbs a week still.

    Drinking & eating & eating & drinking

Yea, I have to move my glass away as well.. It's a hard habit to break. I was told to stop 15-20 mins before eating also.

    Surgery in 12 hours.

First few days are a bit rough, but it gets better every day! Just remember that.

    Talk me out of it!

It's a choice you have to make for yourself and your health.. I'm not going to try to talk anyone out of a surgery that some feel is elective. I can tell you that on March 20th if I didn't have my surgery I probably wouldn't have lived more then another couple of decades at the rate I was going.. Since the surgery, I am almost 80 lbs down, blood pressure is normal, per-diabetic symptoms are gone, snoring is gone cholesterol is normal. These are the factors in yourself that you need to think about.. The only thing I regret was not doing this years ago.
  17. average for a female at 5' is roughly 130ish. Figure out a weight YOU feel comfortable with and make that your goal. It is achievable if you do the work.. Don't expect the sleeve to be a fix it all.. it is a HUGE tool to help, but you have to work it for it to work for you.

My mom is making me want to scream

You might not get it.. but don't let that stop you from doing what you know is best. After the fact she will have no choice to accept what is done, and at that point hopefully she will move from trying to stop it to supporting you as you need. I would sit down and tell her that this IS what you are doing, and her negative talk and be more supportive.
  19. Congrats! You look amazing ::wolfwhistles:: I can't wait to feel comfortable again without a shirt This time next year I will not leave the beach

When should I start working out?

my doc said 6 weeks for workouts.
  23. ShrinkingBiker

Not sure how many carbs to eat a day?

Same here, but I don't get obsessive with it, and still am losing decently.

    anyone forget to feed others?

I was the primary cook in the house. I still cook once in a while, but not nearly as much as I used to.. My wife said the other night "I'm hungry" I replied by telling her how the knobs on the stove magically make fire.. She wasn't impressed with that answer..
  25. yes, it does get worse.. But it can easily be controlled. I take one omeprazole (priloces prescription) a day and in most cases I am good to go.. once in a while it will fair up late a night and I take a tums or something like that and it is fine. Heartburn vs. heart attack, I'll take the heart burn every time.. I know if I didn't get the operation heart problems where in my not too distant future.
