Anyone else with blood related problems?
NewAshes posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was diagnosed with lupus antibodies last week which means my clotting process is abnormal and am more prone to clotting and if I am to have surgery my hematologist wants me on a thinner shot once a day for a month. I told my surgeon it ran in the family and I had tested a positive negative a few years ago it was dismissed but she wanted to double make sure. She did say that they can do surgery with this but I'm nervous she might say no. A month seems like a long time to be on shots so I will have to talk to my surgeon cause my hematologist didn't quite understand what a gastric sleeve was and how much you really have to get up and move. -

My last dietician appointment is November 26th so they said if I'm approved I'm looking at a December surgery -
I have 3 more appointments to go. I have to go to the baraicatrics center at the hospital and see their dietician once a month. I'm kinda glad cause at my clinic they over book their doctors and so the doctors keep leaving. I've had 3 different doctors this year lol. My last one left last month.

How did you pass the time?
NewAshes replied to LittleLou's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm using the time to try shakes and different soups and yogurts. Then instead of looking forward to the last appointment I plan trips to the beach, concerts, movies. Just had my 21st birthday and I look forward to those that come sooner. And as those go by my last appointment gets closer. -
I have about 3 months to go for my last appointment with the dietician and I was just informed that my doctor left and I've been switched to a new clinic and have a new doctor. I've never met her and I prob won't unless I need too cause they over book their doctors. So what does this mean when it's time to submit to insurance? The new doctor was not the one to refer me. Has anyone else had this happen?

I'm surprised. They didn't make me take out my Monroe's. but they used meds to make me sleep which was nice cause I was awake again after 15 mins and no nausea. Was your nose piercing new? I'd expect that from a oral but not a cartilage cause that was way quick

Insurance Requirments
NewAshes replied to MrsAnders's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is usually a 3-6 month diet with insurances. It can take longer if doctors do tests like endoscopy at the end and then find out you have pylori or a bunch of ulcers. That kind of stuff can prolong. Also if something is wrong with your labs at the final testing. -

I'm looking at surgery in December too! -
I had lab work, cardiac clearance, I already had a sleep study 2 years ago or I would have had that, my endoscopy is Tuesday and because my blood is a bit weird I see a hematologist Thursday.

NewAshes replied to AshWalker's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The psychologist said he thinks I'm good to go..I was expecting a straight yes or no but he just said that and my info is on the table and he's revived a few letters from my provider...not sure what to make of that but at least it sounds good lol. I have my endoscopy on the 13th >.< -

I was super nervous. I didn't get to say everything I wanted and how I wanted but I think I'll still be cleared.
