NewAshes replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Makes me happy to see so many December sleevers. Sucks it seems so far away though. Anyways I didn't introduce myself. My name is Ashlie and I'm 21, I live in Oregon and started gaining weight when I was 10 when I was put on some meds. Just kept gaining and haven't been able to get it off since. My start weight was 260 and I'm at 239 and my hight is 5'2". I think I'm going to keep losing till I hit a BMI of 40 cause I have nothing else to do till my last appointment lol. -

My aunts kinda mad about me getting it done around Christmas and New Years. There will be quite a few traditions I won't be able to do but the sooner I get this done the better. And at least we all get thanksgiving. I think I would be quite miserable with my broth at the table and watching everyone mow down on turkey, mashed taters and casseroles lol. My family does turkey enchiladas the next day too. Lol -

NewAshes posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my 2nd to my last appointment is this Monday and I know a bunch of information but maybe there is stuff I missed. I'm especially interested in hearing the cons. It makes me less nervous to know everything without surprises. -
Some insurances do not accept high cholesterol.

I hate plain fish so I'm going to try sushi as well

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
NewAshes replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My 2nd to my last appointment is on Monday and last is November 26th. My insurance normally takes a week so they said I'm looking at December. I've had all my tests and came back good to go besides a small hernia. I've lost the 20 pounds my surgeon required but need to try and keep it off till then. And since I have I've lost enough weight to start my two part NUT classes which will be scheduled Monday. So excited! -

NewAshes replied to Rach34's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a little less than a month and a half and I wasn't given a diet. I was given tips but I did need to lose 20lbs which I've already lost. My center makes everyone lose 10-20lbs but ever center is different. -

6 Month supervised requirement
NewAshes replied to Gelica's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm month 5 as well, my last appointment is nov 26th and I'm required to lose 20lbs and I've already lost that and a bit. Here they don't let you go to the pre op nut classes at the end if you haven't lost enough weight and they won't schedule if you haven't lost all the weight -

I'm 21 and looking at a December date -
I can't help but stay negative until I find out if I am approved. planning my hospital stay, buying vitamins ect, talking about that future just feels weird to me. There is always that what if? in my mind when I'm doing all this stuff. The likelihood of me being approved is good cause my insurance only requires non smoking non drug use and a diagnosis of type two diabetes. The psychologist said he thinks I'm good to go but the bariatric team meets up and decides if i'm ready. anyone else like me?
