I'm a 37 year old female who has been diagnosed with depression, fybromyalgia, and Rhumetoid Arthritis. I was on a ton of medicine trying to control the pain and different meds. To control the depression, I weighed 130 lbs before I got severely sick. After taking all of these different pills I gained a ton of weight I was now up to 285 lbs in a matter of 8 months. My doctor was trying to figure out a diet for me,to,go on because I couldn't walk my legs would swell horribly I couldn't sleep or,do anything for that matter due to the pain I was in so I had brought up to him about the sleeve, and he said ok we can try this (since I went on over five diets that did nothing) I went and got the surgery done it was a slow and hard road to get where I am today but its well worth it I currently weigh 155 lbs. and yes I still have pain but nothing as bad as it was back then. I'd recommend this to anyone who has trouble loosing weight or have any type of disease.

I think the worst part about the whole thing is the liquid diet lol woooo I felt like I was starving myself I was a pretty big eater and to have to just stop and do liquids man that was hard but after surgery I was not that hungry I mean I'm 1yr post op and I still have a little bit of trouble eating I can't eat big meals I kinda pick at whatever I make but I'm glad I lost 130 lbs the weight I had was making me miserable u will not regret doing this I may have a hard time eating but i never wanna be 295 again lol -

Stacy819 replied to Carissicagail's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well I didn't start seeing a lot of weight loss until my fourth month and then it took another four months to see anymore. I've lost in total after 1 year 130 lbs. it's not gonna come off right away I thought that too lol but it's well worth it you will see a decent amount of weight loss in a couple months I was 285 now I weigh 155 so just stick to the diet they gave you it may take a while but it's well worth it :-) -

I am a year out and till this day I can not stomach hamburger meat, certain kinds of sauces, a lot of foods I can't eat without getting sick. I have my good and bad days but 3 weeks out I barely could eat anything, I got some protein shakes from GNC pretty good I ate a lot of puréed soups I just couldn't do solid food for about three months but I wasn't even that hungry lol just purée ur food and try to eat soft food I can not eat dairy I have gotten more lactose since the surgery so eggs, cheese, milk I can't do at all. Just try too eat squishy foods for now. Hope u feel better soon :-) I got to eat more about five months after my surgery solid foods I mean it will get better in time -

The nerves will happen shoot I was scared to death lol the hardest thing for me was getting use to eating different. Can't eat greasy food, bread, rice, potatoes and I'm also lactose intolerant now more than I was before but once u get use to the diet it will be a bit easier I'm 1year in and I still have my good and bad days but weigh 155lbs now and I was 285 at 5'5 lol you will do great don't worry I had no pain after the surgery so I hope all goes well for u good luck :-) -
Thank you very much :-)
