I think it is time

I am in the same boat, however, I have made the decision to start the journey. I will be banded in Utah if it is approved by my insurance. After joining this site and attending a seminar I am ready. It has to be your decision though. My husband is also heavy and will wait to see how I do on the band and then he may do it. I do not know about banding in Mexico. One thing to consider is at my seminar they said people contact their office who have went to Mexico and other countries for fills and they will not do it for liability reasons. This may be something to consider. Good luck on your journeys.
  2. All the studies I have seen also show the gastric bypass and the lap band have the same end results in five years. I have researched this a lot and have made the decision to do it based on the slower weight loss and hopeful less excess skin. It is your decision but I do agree you need to attend a class. They are very informative and help you make the right decision. I have just begun the process and am waiting for insurance approval but feel it is the right decision for me.
  3. I just attended my required class and have begun filling out my packet. I was wondering if anyone is working with Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians in Salt Lake City, UT with Dr. McKinlay as their surgeon or has had him do the procedure. I am so excited. My insurance covers the procedure and I am hoping the approval with not be too lengthy.

    have a date but scared

I am going through the same thoughts. I have just begun the process and am probably looking at September before I can have the surgery. I think it is normal. I just keep telling myself how great it will be when I start losing and how much better I will feel. Good luck!
