Good luck all of you guys! I'm just starting, saw the surgeon for the first time yesterday so I'll probably be done in June or August, too many fun summer things to schedule around! I'm in Kalamazoo, and it seems like nobody else here is from Kzoo. My surgeon will be Dr. Verseman at Borgess . -
Just browsing the Complications forum and am now FREAKED!

This is so timely! I'm starting the process for this summer, went to my first meeting with the surgeon yesterday. Prior to going I thought I would try to really educate myself on complications so I too browsed the forum here and lost a couple nights sleep:(. I guess there are risks to every surgery but the stories of weeks and months in the hospital really freaked me too. However I do like that 98% stat, just have to keep that at the top of our minds. -
That baseball conversation is one that I totally look forward to, been listening to fun from inside the house for way too long:(

Please be honest...

What does anyone think of Lipton green tea (diet citrus) in the bottles? I'm addicted to it and that would be really hard to give up. My surgeon really stresses icing up the 2 C's-- carbonation and caffeine. -

I'm new, having my surgery in Kalamazoo with dr. Verseman. I've read this whole thread and it sounds like I'm the only one from Kalamazoo on here!?!?

I guess I meant "reverse" cowgirl... where your backside is facing him -- waaay too afraid of that!

Is there a maximum caffeine per day that they say is ok? I don't drink coffee but I live on Lipton Diet Cirtrus Green Tea. Not sure I can give that up! It has 24mg a bottle.

I'm a newbie here, from Kalamazoo. I don't have a date yet, just starting the process. Know anyone else from Kalamazoo?? -
Great thread, I hope that each of you gets exactly what you are wanting to to or to be! I'm 48, and I've never: been waxed down there felt good about how I look been very successful on a diet loved having my picture taken had cowgirl sex went scuba diving walked in a walk-a-thon race jumped out of an airplane (but I will someday) But I have done white Water rafting, hot air balloon, and a lot of other exciting things.... kind of a thrill seeker:)

This is my first post, and I am like the rest of you, lol. I went to the meeting 2 years ago thinking I was doing the band, then chickened out, thought I could do it on my own, went back and forth on the South Beach Diet, then now here I am, 15 lbs heavier. I really am glad that I didn't go through with it with the band. The same sugeon did the initial talk both times, and the one I went to recenly, he was MUCH less favorable about the band. The talk two years ago, he was doing almost all bypass and sleeve was just kind of a "throw in" in his talk... this time he said the sleeve and the bypass operations he performed was about 50/50. A big change, which encouraged me that my decision on the sleeve was the right choice. I still worry about the long term safetey for which the sleeve doesn't really have much data, and I'm scared to death about the regain issue after 2 years. I have made changes in my diet based on the South Beach so I think I am capable of the long term dietary changes that will keep the regain off, but it really scares me.
